if the altcoin is a new altcoin after a significant price increase or reaches ATH, you should sell it because in my experience after a significant price increase the price will drop drastically. New altcoins usually have low daily volume and are very susceptible to price manipulation and choosing to hold carries very high risk.

It is better to sell them immediately, and not to hold, because in a year they will no longer be profitable. If your holding token more famous with top currency then you can hold long time for big profits. Otherwise if you have been get some profits from your holding coin then sold out and take buy another good coin. I think buy and sell totaly depend on your profits target so if you profits target rage rising then you have should sell mate.
If you think big profit then hold for long term or you can do short trade its also profitable for everyone because if you can analysis then even you can earn per day 10-15% profit on your investment so its depand on your strategy which you want to follow for income source!!
The decision will be all yours, you can decide if you Go for long or short. but personally, if I'm on your side I will sell. I have made a lot of bad decisions for holding shitcoins in my wallet.
Shitcoins are not meant to be kept long term and you are right that selling them is a very good decision because the coins that are suitable for long term storage are coins that are already popular like the ones in the top rankings. So Shitcoin is not to be considered in the long term.

Coins must be sold if you make a large profit after one year from your invested coin. If necessary, if it decreases again, buy from there.I have done a lot in this kind of wrong life. We sell coins because they are big pumping after buying at low prices. Can you tell us what coin you are holding, is it a potential coin or shitcoin. If you see it as having potential and can continue to growth, you should hold. If it's a shitcoin and it's already profitable, you should sell it now and buy yourself bitcoin or top altcoins.It's your property should sell or hold is your decision.

Sell it and don't be greedy like the most of us in the first place your goal is to have profit while you are now at profit and you should sell now and if you are afraid to sell it then maybe you can sell half of it and hold the others but remember to always take a profit every ATH.

A good investor knows his exit point already at the time of buying an asset. Only you can determine when the moment comes for you to sell. You also need to understand that the goals must be realistic, you can’t just buy a coin and wait for x100, this may never happen. Look how the coins behave after reaching ATH, most of them go to correction after that. 
If your token price hit ATH price, it is all depends on you whether you want to take profit or still want to hold it.
But for sure, we should not being too greedy, maybe we should sell some part of our token and hold some.
With that strategy, we will be able to take some profit and re-invest some to take profit in the future.

That for what you hold tokens in the long term, do you think holding tokens longer is better selling at ATH, so yes then that is the worst analysis because the possibility of the next one year the tokens will be nothing more than dust. The holder's dream target is to reach ATH, so at that time they sell tokens in the market for bigger profits.

If you 1 year ago you bought a coin at a very low price and after one year if it pumps the maximum then you will sell that number.Because if the profit from your invested money is many times more then it must be sold.If necessary, if the market declines again, invest again with some money from there.If you can't sell on time, there is no end to the regrets.I have made many such mistakes in my life. I still believe that alt season is about to come soon. When that time comes, just like in the previous bull cycle, most alts will do well in the market. I would suggest holding top-ranked cryptos as they have more potential and are more stable to weather the market. Create a portfolio in your wallet for those cryptos and sell those with lesser potential. In time your portfolio will grow in value.
