For me it's simple - all the coins from top-20 of marketcap are very good for long-term investment,but perspective and interesting ICO projects can give very quick profit so they are very good for short-term speculations.I think 50 % of cryptoportfolio should be in top coins and the second half in Ico tokens.

If there is an active team working behind the project. It is also has to be in consideration how the project could gain demand from the people. And lastly, look at how big the community is supporting the project.

There are many ICO projects serving the same purpose. I think investors should invest in projects with the same product. If you do your own research, you know what money is good. I think about the team carefully. The hardworking team wants to be successful.

Currently mostly old coins are really good because you know that they are reliable since they survived through long time...new ones are usually suspicious...

I think that coins should only choose on the basis of which project behind it, because even the popularity and hype surrounding the coins will not give her a stable growth and price.

I would advise you now not to invest in new coins in general, but to invest only in those coins that have proven themselves well in the market and have good technology

Agree that is a good factor about good coin and also there are huge volume of demand and the developer continuous working out to be listed in multiple legit crypto exchange. But still you should need more extra careful because some of them are not good in the long run they will turn to be scam coin.

To know which coin is good, You must see its potential through researching and observing its market state, seeing how people invest in it and how long will your investment will take for it to have profit, A good coin for me is the coin that has done many things and can survive a market for long.

I always look at the project purposes. If there are already similar projects whether then it is worth understanding there is between them a difference, what advantages. Happens often that projects are repeated each other, such will definitely not release good coins.

Good coins always have discussions active in telegram and developers are constantly informed about what work they are doing. If everything is quiet, no one talks about the coin and does not know, it is worth considering.

The main point is to read the projects white paper and to get know their team.
With white paper you will know what project itself. Is it unique enough and how it is going to work. By reading white paper you may decide the main idea and if you interested you may start investing.
Also, you need to know does the coin itself even though being “good” does it actually solve some kind of problem, if it does solve some problems then you may go further to the next point. Checking other facts such as team behind the project.
The team is also very important, by looking at team you may say how it will develop, are they professionals or some random guys.
It will all lead to the main part of deciding, if the project itself is a scam or real growing up and making some problem solving ideas which can bring not only good influence on resolving problem but also making some profits.
One more option is to actively check out social media of the project. You may look for example at the Telegram, check if their telegram is overcrowded.
But overall, even list above has some point and it is not meaningless, it got some point right?
There could be bunch of good paper, and really does solve some social or any other type of problems.
But the main one is could you see in the future of the coin, so sometimes investing could be lottery in which you are not sure for 100 percent.
But you cannot be always just keeping your investments just because you are scared, sometimes it is good to risk, by risk you may be lucky to get even more than you were expected.
