if I think the way to identify the ICO is right and wrong, we must first observe whether the white paper is regular or not, because the best thing we can do to know if ICO is a scammer is to look at their profile and read correctly their full details and also see if they have good feedback from their clients or investors in this business.
It is not something difficult to do, just cheeck the last patterns from other scams icos and you will see that they all are always doing exactly the same, airdrops, the same bounty managers, and the same stuff only that copy pasted.
I have the same opinion about the discussed above, and it is necessary to pay attention first to the team of the project, their experience or may be earlier products, and after that learn in detail the other things about the project - idea and the new product itself.
How to know the scam ico sometimes vary. You can read the whitepaper, see the purpose of the project. See the team from the project, whether it's a real team or not. See the enthusiasm of the community against the ico project. You can also see in icobench rating about ico project.
It is sounds too good to be true, minimum risk good profit, team can't be found nowhere, whitepaper copied from different ico, self moderated topic, newbie accounts and many more things.

It is very difficult to identify an ico scam. I have been through a lot of ico. There are very good ico, but in the end failed and scam for a variety of reasons.
I'm looking if there is any product is developed. If there is no product and only the idea I do not invest in such altcoins/ICOs. I've invested in Revain before (yeah it was really good when it jumped to 3 $!!!) and now I found a new project where CEO from Revain is Chief advisor. 2.Empty Github/bitbucket.
3.Company not incorporated
4.Unknown/fraudulent team members/advisors.
5.Plagiarized/bad whitepaper.

Look at the team always, it figures and the ICO mirror. If they are good-naturedly in contact with investors and are happy to share their plans, then a good ICO.

You will have to develop your own system since some people have different standards for some things, for example I do not like icos that give bonuses, I know that many people in the forum love the bonuses but in my opinion this is nothing more than a way to try to make people to invest without checking the ico completely, not only that to me that seems like an attempt to get money as fast as possible which is a bad thing because it makes it seem as if the developers only care about the money. Since there are lot of ICO campaign are available and most of them are Scams, I suggest you to do your own research about crypto projects before investing your money
I don't think it is easy to judge any scam ICO
You can identify either the ICO or the project has launch is just a scam, if you read there whitepaper and also check the information of the team that they had.
Scammers are getting more updated now a days so we need to update our knowledge about the crypto currencies and the evaluation of the projects more well.The important thing we need to look for when it comes to an ICO is about that project team,the scammer use fake profiles as their project team so we may get a clue about the scam by doing these.

Actually I do not know if they are Scam, but I can guess if they are money grab. The amount of funds raised is too much for the contents of the project. Much slanderous words such as future or dream. There is no white paper etc. You should not invest in such projects.

Good question but answer is to hard to define the scam ICO if your research each ICO they have a prof of the team white paper and roadmap but it's defense to the developer if the developer want to scam the project the team it's no power to hold the knowledge of the developer.
