honestly, it is getting serious that most people spend over 18 to 19 hours these days on systems and mobile phones watching the market, trading on the move with their mobile. the addiction is getting out of hand. i think i am probably getting into this kind of life.
what could be the possible means of prevention. i need to have my normal life back.

Then try a different earning mechanism to observe the outcome, I believe you must be referring to day trading on your OP as most crypto addicts result from inexperienced individuals engaging in daily trading. Try becoming a  hodler (that's an investor) as this will reduce the number of times you visit the screen (via mobile or laptop) to view the price of bitcoin as it results, help in control of your addiction.

You're addicted to checking the price of bitcoin as a day trader. Therefore finding a solution that doesn't involve been obligated to stay updated with the current price of bitcoin would be the perfect solution to your addiction.

Then whenever you feel tired just stop, you need to have control for yourself and to be honest your addiction could make you very rich, so its not a bad addiction, but if you feel already too occupied by trading then set your time to trade and whenever its not the time to trade just go make another hobby do other activity

LOL, you mean to say that for 5-6 hours a days, you slept, you eat do your chores and then just sit in front of your computer all day long? I don't know if you are bull shitting us here or really telling us the truth In any case it's simple if you wanted to return to your normal life.

Stop, simply as that. Just like any addiction, if you have the will power then you can overcome your addiction. Worst case is that you seek medical help, but there's no need for it. Just quit !!!

Saying stop does seem easy enough, but it's hard to do for people who are already addicted. I myself was once a victim of that addiction, well it's very difficult for me to get rid of that bad habit. But finally I found a pretty good way, namely by busy myself with other activities, such as sports.

But if it feels like a failure and the addiction is at a heavy level, then it's better to go to a psychologist to ask for the right advice to overcome that bad habit.

Nobody is after your normal life, just that you are not the type for this business and not capable of be a trader, you must have been a lazy fellow, sorry to say this mate. Am a trader and still live my normal life to the fullness and surprise that you are complaining of been a trader. Remember that, no pain, no gain.
I once came across an article where someone wrote that he is a pro trader but does not earn money, don’t think it is everyone that you see on that trading platform 24/7 are really making money, because if someone like op is, he would know that trading becomes sweet when you are constantly making it from there. Who would ever want to stop the source of an income when we have lots of people looking for such opportunity, although everything has to be done moderately.

Staying up to such amount of time is quite dangerous to the health, the body needs 8 hours of time to shut down every day, at least 7 hours minimum in other to regain the strength used for that day back. Most successful business man when asked, would tell you they sleep 10:30 pm every day and wales up 5:30 am every day in preparation for the day job.

Are you making money from your addiction, if yes then i will comment that it is a good addict. Many people spent valuable time daily on video games, social media sites without paid. I desired to be addicted to trading, reading and studying crypto currency and on this forum especially the trading and speculative sections.

Are you sure that's all they do on their mobile phone? I don't think it's just that. If they are doing that, then it's okay in a way, because it's for their well-being. They are trying to earn more than what they have right now. Trading hopefully could bring a different approach to that.

For the comparison that I have, I think it's better observing charts in TradingView, rather than spending a lot of time in Social Media. Think about it, there are a lot of kids, and even adults are into smartphone these days.

18-19 hours a day? That is too much dude, you really need to get out and not spend most of your day just sitting and making trades. On the contrary, not just health wise, but money wise as well. I mean you can spend that long hours but for what? how much? Learn how to manage your time, and there is a world outside of crypto that is really very very important to all of us.

It`s almost impossible to be active so long everyday. When to eat and sleep, to not mention all other activities? I don`t believe this newcomer, nobody spends so much time with anything, sitting in front of monitor, watching numbers more than couple hours is a lot, 18-19 hours is too much in every way.
Learn to set up buy and sell orders and you will not have to spend so much time online, or even better buy some trading bot to trade for you and you can concentrate on something else.

Lol, you should expect that there will be some level of exaggeration in it so that it can catch the attention of people, you see, I am sure that is what struck your eyes that made you to comment too, Am I right? I guess he is just being creative, because I doubt if it was possible for one to stay that long on what is stressing the brain, even if one is making money through it, it will be impossible to cheat nature, the body must send signal for eating, signal for toileting, signal for taking a nap.

So there is no way he would just sit down there on a system for that long when we have many tools that he can set that will make it easy and relief him of the stress of trading manually. The only time I found myself staying that long on a screen was when I was watching PRISON break, I almost took a whole day sitting right there without taking my eyes off every episodes.

I haven't really checked the definition of addiction but I believe anyone making money from what he/she spends time on does not qualify as addict.

I consider that as job dedication and it actually happens to me very often in my office job and it is the same thing with crypto. We are just giving a huge concern to our investment and spending much time with is not that we called addiction. Perhaps, many investors succeed because they give much time in their investment and that's supposing I want to do so.

- Do you spend so much time on trading but don't make enough money? it is probably addiction.

- Are you spending time learning trading? this does not qualify as addiction.
- Are you making enough money from the plenty of time you spend trading?  It is definitely not addiction.

If you really want to be free or prevent with it, I suggest you to stop making trade in crypto. Because as long as you continue to trade with crypto while you can't able to stop or controlling yourself to trade in the exchange, I doubt you can prevent it.

Exactly, anyone can prevent from being addiction if we're restrain our good and liable behavior. Also, with high attachment on earning quick profits will lead to act aggressively that may fall into anxiety. But trading is about individual statistic to avoid addiction.

It is really important that you treat trading with a healthy attitude. Remember, if you are not in a healthy frame of mind when trading, you will lose money, and if it becomes an addiction, you will lose big money.

I personally never trade when I am on the move. Probably because there is a lot going on around me, and it is impossible to concentrate. I usually spend up to an hour before making a single trade. Planning is important.

Self-control is all you need.Put up a restriction in your time on how much time you would only spend on trading but yet we know that opportunities on the market doesnt have corresponding or specific time thats why we do randomly look everynow and then on the charts.I cant really blame to that but anytime you can make money out of price movements.
If you do see yourself as an addicted one then better to lie low on trading activities and divert your attention into something else.
Crypto addiction is really possible which can be seen more especially in newbies because they are more eager to monitor the price charts and forget to give time to their own needs.Self-discipline and self-control are the best means to prevent from crypto addiction. It's not bad to focus more on crypto as long as you do it in the most positive way.

The truth is everyone checking market is either a trader or a speculator. It's important and very good to make money in crypto if not, will be a waste of time and waste of funds. If you make enough good money from crypto, you won't see it as addiction or time wasting g. Untill you make massive gains on crypto, you won't appreciate the difference it has to 9-5 jobs.

That's right. See all the developers who actually spend real time building and improving their products. They're not on the markets constantly checking. They're giving lectures, giving talks, spending time in the lab just working things out for us. This is why I never trust those so called experts who're looking at price or even know how the market is. They're thinking of profits, just like traders and speculators.

And if you're making massive gains on crypto, it's mainly your luck, this is the other important thing to appreciate. Have a job a proper one. Learn and earn something solid.

It's easy. If you want to go back to the normal life just like before, give up crypto trading. Sell all your coins and turned your back with cryptocurrency without thinking that you will gonna lose all your coins. Paranoia is something that is hard to resist especially when your brain is tellin you that you have your coins in your wallet that you have to watch for. Cash out all your bitcoins and altcoins and forget cryptocurrency. Lol
Turning his back on what ground? Is it on the ground that he is not making money or the ground that he is wasting his time? I don’t see reason why he should see what will add value to his life in future as issue. We have lots of trader that trading is what they do for a living and they earn a lot of money from it, the op is simply just investing in his future.

It is not all jobs that has simple task, some requires lots of dedication, and trading is one that really need dedication if one is to make it, and one of the dedication is time, anyone that has made the decision to go into full time trading should expect to really tie a lot of time down and should not because of that see it as an addict, that is what it entails and that is how they can successful earn much through it.

No matter how much time you spend in trading if you make money it worth it. Trading has made many rich and no need to wake up early for work. You now decide you time and how to use it. If with my smartphone i am make good money what is the need of complaining  about time. Many people are unemployed and some are looking for jobs and you through skills can now maneuver the market to make profit at the comfort of your home is it not good than work for someone or unemployed?

I think this is a very ordinary market and we should not be labeling this a kind of addiction that might send out a bad image or message. I have been in touch with people who made huge fortunes in crypto and they are enjoying normal life like anyone among us. They are not addicted at all. So if you think that you are addicted due to the crypto magnetism, you should make up your mindset and set limits.
