honestly, it is getting serious that most people spend over 18 to 19 hours these days on systems and mobile phones watching the market, trading on the move with their mobile. the addiction is getting out of hand. i think i am probably getting into this kind of life.
what could be the possible means of prevention. i need to have my normal life back.
It depends on your thinking and orientation and your interests. If you are a person who likes to work in an open space, without internet, you can do other things.
Don't try to do a job you don't like, because you won't be able to succeed and your life is depressing.
But it is very simple for stress relief, you can walk around, talk to your girlfriend.
everything will return to normal and you will start to work happily the next day. Grin

This is the most generalized bullshit you get when someone dislikes something, stop trying to make people run from crypto.

I only spend one or two hours on trading a day, often less. If you are putting hours on hours into watching the charts, then you are likely doing it wrong. If you have an emotional investment in a trade like that, lower your position size until you don't care about it as much. Being emotionally invested into a position often leads to poorer decisionmaking that can influence whether or not a trade ends up being a loser or a winner.

Find something else to do that fills the time. I like to post and read articles here and elsewhere sometimes when I'm not trading, and I also enjoy doing various other outdoor activites this time of year. There's plenty else out there to do besides trading.

~snip~.

18 to 19 hours per day is too much time, and on long run it can have very bad consequences on health. Personally, I think that everything over 8 hours per day and one day off is too much. You should just have to decide that you will not spend so much time online, and find some hobbies which will occupy you so will not think on trading.

It is better to prevent some addiction, then to deal with the consequences later. It is all about how strong are you in head, can you one day wake up and say something like "I will stop smoking"? Few people have such strong willpower, others fall into the abyss of addiction and they need to seek professional help or live with addiction.

Well you can still have your normal life back, just set a time when you need to use your mobile to look on the market movement, although you should be on the market time to time because you are doing a trade it is not a normal thing to be online 19hrs a day so the best thing to do is to set a time for your trading.

If trading is something new in your life you have to spend a little money for it. Don't trade with a lot of money because you will know comfortable with it, that was happened in my life. When I was new, I spend around $1000 for trading bitcoin because my intend was I have to get a lot of profit in a short time. So, I only set a profit price when its price had been increasing and I'll sold quickly when its price had been decreasing.

I never use a long time frime such one day or one week, I always use 15 minutes time frime to trade. Until I was aware that was not good for me, so I found some factors why I did it and the answer is knowledge. Because in trading field you will take a long time to make a decision between buy and sell and when the price will touch x price in the future. Eventually I can understand it and at least it has been made me comfortable even I choose one week time frime.

The only solution is to prevent crypto addiction is by making enough money in the less time period of a day because the reason why we spend time on the market is to make more money so satisfy it then you will be relaxed and it can be done through smart trading not going too hard for many trades in a day.

Right, trading can be addictive most especially that trading can give you big profits if you do it correctly. In my opinion, it is possible to make big money in trading but that is if you trade accurately because if you don't then you will lose instead.

Get some life/hobby, stop being a short trader then you will not be addicted to crypto. Use your management time only spend your times at crypto with around 30-60 mins if you an investor, but if you a full-trader I will not surprise he spent his time around 10-15 hours only to read the chart.

I'm a fundamental analysis, honestly, don't know how much time needed to read a chart. Long term investment would be a good option too to prevent this addicted.

Have to change their mindset will be the best solution. How this thing(money) influencing our mind cause in gambling is really hard to stop especially when we are seeing money inside our pocket.
Will all our doings can't be bad actually even we are spending a lot of time in gambling. And the most important is, we know our limitations and the palce to stay.

Don't invest/trade with money you can't afford to lose. People often become obsessed with the ticker when they are underwater because they put too much on the line.

Zoom out and watch the long term charts. The daily, weekly, monthly time frames. Moves that look like huge pumps and crashes on the intra-day charts look tiny on the longer term charts. Check the daily/weekly charts a couple times a day. It'll start looking pretty boring after a while!

Finally, if you survive this market, you will grow out of this. I used to watch the charts many hours a day, alarms going off in the middle of the night, etc. After a couple years I burned out on that and got more sensible about my trading habits.

You should try to stay away from your computer. You can try to build a new habit that needs you to stay focus on your works. I am sure you can do that because I see many of my friends can prevent themselves from staying at their computer for a long time. Perhaps, you need to meet your friends or gather in one place, talk or discuss with them about anything so your mind will distract to think about trading, market or cryptocurrency.

Sometimes I used that way to prevent myself too because I don't want to look busy for my works and I need to meet many people to make another experience for my life. I hope you can do the best for your life and don't too busy with your life. Your life needs to be a balance between your work and your personal life.

I don't know how I would define crypto addiction. Is it if you spend hours and hours in front of charts analysing the market or if you spen the whole day at exchange? And I.guess that the definition is not the same for traders and ordinary users.
Anyway, I guess there are some signs like compulsory behaviour, or investing too much money despite losses hoping that just next trade will make you rich. If anything of these is something you noticed than is better to move away from cryptocurrencies.

This is the kind of addiction i want to have if ever being addict to something are required in this society. I dont thing being obsessed in the market is threathening because its just an indication that youre dedicated on your goal and you want to make it successful. Being addict to financial opportunities are better than anything.
if in my opinion once to prevent people from buying crypto eyes because they have got very large results with a short time so it will be very difficult to make people stop adopting crypto again until he doesn't have the money back then it can

As long it doesnt affect too much your life or doesnt compromise your daily normal living then i dont see for it to be a problem yet this kind of addiction isnt really that
be considered to be severe. Why? You can possibly make money out of it and its much better than to be addicted with gambling.Just stay focus and dont mind too much as long you dont forget your priorities in life then it should be fine.

The reason in my opinion that some people spend that amount of time on screens watching the price charts, is because they take trading way too seriously, they quit their job their life just to focus on something that they could lose in just a simple mistake, i feel that the solution is to take it easy, to consider trading only as a hobbies and extra income on top of your everyday job which is what is supporting you and giving you a steady income, and trading does not have to take 24 hours you could just take an hour to tow to check the price or you could set notifications to your phone whenever the price changes.

Every addiction is connected to the lack of self-control the person has over his decisions and actions.
The addiction is created in your subconscious mind, which is responsible for all the habits.
You have to take control over your mind and force yourself to change your habits.
The simple answer is-just sell all your coins and quit crypto trading. Smiley

If you become an addict, it means you don't have any discipline to control yourself in it.
Especially if you know to yourself that you have a lot of money to buy coin in the exchange, which is nothing for you or its fine
if you lose due to its not a big deal at all. So, the better way for you to prevent it, I think you must control or maximize your coins or capital
you have for trading.

The problem only in you, you are in control of yourself.
Crypto trading so far can't be addicted especially when the market itself consider as volatile market so it's difficult to make consistent profit

( the story will be different if you're gambling )

One of the solution is to enter the market at the right time which is also a difficult task because you also have to monitor the happenings in the market from time to time and see for the position. So is just a life that traders will live. Bankers too are committed to seeing customers and handling their money while the medical field deals with their patient.

If we are able to get the right spot, reduce our risk appetite and set out take profit, it will hit our profit on time even when we are not on the system.
