Be vigilant and carefully check whether the site is phishing. Large amounts are best kept on hardware purses. If this is not possible, then install the metamask extension for the browser.

Security is the most important thing when working with crypto.  Do not store keys in accessible places, that is on a computer.  Better on a flash drive and on paper to write down, and there are still cold wallets.

The only safe way to store you alts is to store them in a hardware wallet such as Ledger or Trezor. When you generate a seed using a hardware wallet it is not shared with the computer system and hence even if your computer is having any kind of malware or virus, the seed can never be compromised.
You can protect your altcoins by storing it in a wallet them secure you wallet. Don't let anyone to get your code or password; make sure the you are the only one who knows it.

If you’re a holder and decided to wait for a long term, getting a hardware wallet is the best option probably. I think it’s the most efficient way to protect your eth based altcoins..

First, you have to use a good wallet, there are many secure online wallet, it will be good to read some reviews before using any one of them.
If you invested a big amount of money in altcoins, you should buy a hradware wallet.
When sending coins from an online wallet you should use Metamask it will add more security to your wallet.
Never trust any one and keep your private keys safe.

Online wallets are shit, i have used them once and i lost a lot of money because of that, this is why i prefer to use an offline wallet just like an encrypted one, or just to buy a ledger wallet and store all my cryptos in there.

What is the best methods to protect altcoin from hacker?
The only way to protect your altcoins from hacker is to use the hardware wallet like Ledger Nano. Don't ever save your private key on emails or even a computer that is always connected to Internet. Bookmark the site you are using to avoid phishing.

Simply use anti viruses and malwares, metamask extension to prevent those phishing sites from stealing your precious coins and most importantly use a hardwallet so that these hacker wont have any good chance to crack your wallets, not going to have your keys when your computer was affected not unless you saved your keys in your desktop.

The way I protect my altcoins is by storing my wallet data in offline and hardware. As well as secrecy the place for data storage from other people, and keep the account or wallet data from others. With us storing data at the hardware premises, hackers will not be able to track the existence of our wallet data.

I will use everything to protect my altcoins.
As I know, my friends told me to don't use exchange wallet. Yes it's true, many of exchange have a problem with hacking..
So I decided to use cold storage wallet and ledger wallet (This wallet have many altcoins option).

to complete the above comment
Moreover use the Coinnomi wallet-bitcoin and altcoin, Airbitz - bitcoin, Jaxx - bitcoin and altcoin, mycelium - bitcoin. this is for type mobile wallet and desktop. Fill free to use it. And remember to use a strong password/paraphrase.

What is the best methods to protect altcoin from hacker?
If you use an application that requests your e-mail, do not use the same e-mail as e-mail on other sites. especially social media sites. do not create passwords that are easy to hack like birthdates. try to fill the password there are numbers, uppercase or small, and punctuation. which need to be aware if other people have your private key. and remember that private key can not be replaced. so try to save well and do not let others know your private key.

Always be careful of phishing websites and deals that are too good to be true. And never disclose your wallet private keys to any websites or anyone.

there is little chance that hacker can take your coin from your wallet.
coins/tokens are design for secure, and if you not stupid enough to give other people password or private key, or let the coin in someone's wallet, I think there's no chance for them to take your money. be careful when you fill your pass word/private key on a website, make sure it's original
and my best way to protect my coins: transfer them to a hard wallet.

I think security is the first option to secure the coins. If you invest the cryptocurrecy. I suggest you to use the wallet. Because the wallet saves the our coins and private coins and it is easy to use and it's not a harmless.
