Actually is easy, that is don't share your private key to unknown website who was asking to import or connect your account using private key.

the idea of wallet protection is individual responsibility as it is solely you and you alone that has the responsibility of taking care and performing transactions on your account from your wallet. saving wallet private keys offline is a good idea as emails too get hacked but i only do save mine online via my icloud account as apple has a degree of security put in place to curtail such hacks.

Buy Your Own Ledger, use Hardware Wallet.
Aware and Avoid Phising Link, and protect your private key. I guarantee your wallet are safe.

Completely agree with a simple and very clear instruction. Especially about the phising links. And of course it is better to have even the separate computer for operations with your wallet, because you avoid in such a way all the risks with possible opening different links, videos and messages that may launch the mechanism of fishing your data. Of course it is better to open your wallet according to all the secure instructions and keep your keys and data in the most secured places.

The only way out to be safe with one's wallet is keeping your private key and login details safe. Once you expose your keys or share your laptop or mobile devices with people, you're prone to be hacked. Also another way is to stop clicking on links one don't trust if you see links that looks phishing, avoid clicking on it.

I find it too troublesome, currently the Nano has released a new cold wallet, you can connect to it quickly via bluetooth with the application they write for their products. It's easy to secure and transfer their coin

Actually, if you use personal wallet sites like (MEW, Imtoken, Jaxx, and etc) they have good security. The thing you have to do is not to get hit by web pishing, so your assets will be safe. I have been using MEW for more than 2 years and it is still safe, the point is not to get hit by web pishing.

To protect your wallets, the following will suffice:

1. Make sure that only you have access to your private keys.
2. If you use third-party applications, make sure that their open source code is on the github.
3. Create complex passwords and do not store them on your work device.
4. Create an encrypted container and store all the data in it.

All we have to understand is that nothing is perfect, we often hear hackers who are able to hack wallet from exchanges to make all investors' money disappear, the best thing we can do to avoid hackers is to divide into many accounts and of course activate all security features.

First of all, wherever possible, use 2FA, also remember to write secret codes from 2FA in case of loss of your mobile device. It will save you a lot of time and effort.

Storing a private key is also risky because hacker can get in and view documents on your laptop. just use an antivirus to avoid hacking with virus method, use verification to the document that contains the private key, give 2fa to your account, it will be very safe

Usually I store the crypto on the "light wallet" and the trading platform, because I need to trade every day, but I think the safest wallet is still the hardware wallet.

If you don't want to buy hardware wallet, you may buy a cheap laptop...
And this laptop may be much cheaper then any hardware wallet...

Use this laptop always offline to generate offline transactions with MyEtherWallet, or to Sign transactions with Electrum.
And broadcast these transactions on the online PC...

In this case your private keys will be always offline and safe...

Install a wallet to a device that you aren't connecting to internet usually. Just connect for you to download and install the wallet, after that your all good.

Save info at offline device, it's up to you if you'll paste or not the keys there but its best to write it manually on a piece of paper and keep it on a safe place.

Get the most guaranteed solution Ledger. I'm using eidoo right now. There's no way to copy and paste your private code. But we need to switch to the hardware wallet. There is always the danger of hacking to all PC-based wallets. I think we shouldn't take this risk.

first of all you must keep your personal key from anyone. this key must be complicate and its  must know only you. after important have very good antivirus program. and never access your wallet from computer of other person.
i think your way is pretty good,
but there is nothing safe in this world except we ourselves keep it safe and keep hiding it from other people and also always be careful when using private keys or visit suspicious links.

This is for those who use wallets with cheap transaction fee, such as ethereum based wallets.
There are some who cannot yet afford to purchase a hardware wallet. On that note, i have a suggestion on how your wallet can be safe from hackers. I have always noticed wallets that get easily hacked are those that are subject to public view.
Try as much as possible to have a separate cold wallet address that you do not copy and paste the private key, and neither do you share the address with anyone. You can use it to store most of your valuable coins.
Even if you want to transfer any coin or token to an address belonging to another person, first transfer it to your public wallet before sending it out.
hacked, you should blame yourself. You have revealed your private key, or lost the log file and password.
MEW wallet is very safe, I have used it for 3 years and have never seen hacked.
Do not click on shortened files and do not download things from shortened files. It may contain viruses in it.

You are right it will be safe if we get wallet which is quiet out of reach of the general public. Its also necessary to get more than one wallet in order to prevent us from keeping all our coins in wallet, this is to prevent us from loosing everything if it get hacked. Also its very prudent to keep our private key intact and secured always.
