I guess you should help your brother to review what he did in his life and by the time that he gets better, go and celebrate and definitely, don't gamble again. If you think that gambling helps you, it's not. It's better to have other activities and hobbies to do because you're not going to do some bad stuff to yourself, it's going to be good. Don't worry, time would heal and I hope you guys can get through it.

True, its very hard for a gambling addict to quit since his an addict, but as a member of the family you should not let gambling leads him yo lose everything , we have a very important role to play in his life to for him to recover.

Yeah, that is the best thing to do. Getting help and support from family. The first thing an addicted person should do is to accept that he is an addict before he can help himself. Because if they do not accept that they are addicted then no one can help them! It is because if they do not admit it then they will justify their gambling activities every time.

For example, i don't play a lot or for long time (i play games spot during my free time), so i have no idea about, but i trade forex all day and when i had a significant loss i usually turn off my Pc and i go out for a drink , just for not run behind loss.

I'm not a real gambler but due to fully understand. Of course, always did the everyday routine like doing household chores, talk to other people leisurely. Don't mind other people who want to ask your presence in gambling. Don't hesitate to seek help to other people if needed.

There are no problem on that, you playing long time but not everyday until you know your limitation and you know how to control yourself do not worry.
Controlling yourself are a good sign that you don't want to be an addicted on gambling.

Playing for a longer time is not different with playing everyday. You know what? That when you gamble for a very long time tendency is that you will become addicted into it. And you want to do it on an everyday basis, so there's already a clue that you are starting to be come addicted. When you give more time in gambling.

yes he often focus more on gambling than any other thing happening to his life to to any love one of his family that is the bigger problem of a gambler that is why we also see in his life that he do not care for the better future of their children and do not give them any facility of life.

That is why it is call addiction. They would have lost their rational thinking and also lost their self discipline. However it is not impossible to change, it is just that a lot of support needs to come in to help him overcome. There is a lot of drug addicts who manage to overcome and change over a new leaf. It also applies for gambling addicts.

That's true, there's no person or people can stop you from being addicted but it is only you. Because when a person is already addicted on playing gambling no one could ever stop him even they beg for attention to him. I think if one person are already addicted his mind is already on game even what ever he do or where ever he is, he think about his lose and at the same time the way he should do to win again the game.
I think if he already realize what he do, he needs to off the PC, calm his self, rest for a while and take some coffee.

Actually addicted to gambling is not as severe as drug addiction because if you have run out of money then you can by itself stop gambling but to stop the total from gambling, it must be from themselves.

People can just give us good advice, but we have to make our decision very strong, and we have to stick with our conditions. That means, whatever happens, we do not play gambling anymore. Here the self control will play a major role.If you strongly addicted to gambling, it is horrible to control your emotions, but you have to control you don't have other option. When you start to control your emotions then slowly you will come out from this gambling addiction.

Right now it's hard to spot an addicted gambler because most gambler are just doing it online and only those who are
close to them like their family can see what is happening to a certain gambler.
I think if we have experience being a gambler and get addicted it would be easy to spot one.

I think if someone's doing it a daily habit and it's affecting his/her normal life you can consider him/her a gambling addict. For example, if someone usually goes to the casino and spends most of his money in gambling or even selling some of his property just to play.

Daily going to the casino and playing gambling is not easy mate, if you are rich and don't have any work to do have money to run your family then only you can go daily and play in the casino. Because the entry fee is very high in all casino, we can not bear that money daily. Some people will sell their property and play gambling I heard but this kind of gamblers very less we see.

Even rich people get addicted to gambling and seen plenty of them get bankrupt doing it.
When I went to macau once, I saw a lot of pawnshops outside one casino, and they had so much jewelries and luxury watches.
They are actually cheap, when I asked the pawnshop owner why it was cheap it was because those rich gamblers sold them for scraps.
