@Zich

Do u know how to see all the info when switching off the "toggle status switching"? (cgminer 4.2.2 tplink router 3020)

I would like to see all info all the time when using putty, not this switching

Don't know where I saw it but someone posted instructions with pin markings on how to use a USB to UART to access the router. if someone could point me there I would be grateful.

You can find the information here: http://wiki.openwrt.org/toh/tp-link/tl-mr3020#failsafe.mode

As a side note or question are all of these small tp link Routers supported if so does anyone have a list of one's that would work without haveing to change the tecnobit downloads  Thanks.

the reason I ask is I may have bricked this 3020 and If I can use a different model TL router that I may find locally instead of waiting a week to receive one in the Mail. Thanks.

The firmware write specifically for TL-MR3020 only. I was curious what exactly happen on your's since there is no change that the router brick after network problem.

But you can try this:

Failsafe Mode
Set your computer's IP to 192.168.1.2, subnet 255.255.255.0
Connect the TL-MR3020 to your computer via ethernet
Power on the TL-MR3020
When the WPS button starts to blink:
on AA (Attitude Adjustment / 12.09) push the WPS button;
on BB (Breaking Barrier / trunk) move the sliding switch quickly from one side to the other.
Do this until the WPS button starts blinking faster.
The device is now in Failsafe-Mode
You may access it by using telnet 192.168.1.1
Info on resetting to OpenWrt defaults can be found at: generic.failsafe

There is also quite a nice hardware mod - but obviously involves opening up your 3020... There is a position on the PCB labelled up as a resistor (R113) - located next to the micro USB power connector... Solder a link across this and your MR3020 will happily take its 5 volts from the normal USB connector (normally 5v output only) - which is great because the Technobit boards happily supply 5v down the USB connection (or from USB hub)... Thus effectively powering the 3020 from the supply feeding your miners whilst cutting out the need to run an extra cable just to power the 3020. Smiley

One extra cable gone.
Thanks melb  Smiley

if I'm understanding this correctly you are saying to solder across the two terminals of R113 in effect bypassing the resister ? is that correct?

Great now if I could just get back into the router to do an update. the 0320 was working great and then for  what ever reason ( internet went down on my end over 2 hrs) auto refresh is on so I guess it keeps trying to hook back up to pool. but Now it's not hashing and I cannot get into Router Via GUI.  It shows on my home network under the assigned I.P. address but  when I try to log in  get no response. I have also tried a direct e cable between Mac and 3020 with address in right group anyone have any Ideas ? tried after all this to go into flash recovery mode and using the correct address but no luck there either.

thought I had this figured out and maybe I do,  because my work with my other rig is not showing on other end tonight. but as of right now i have some kind of error since the readout for all 16 chips is the same showing no dupes for some reason all nonce counts are at zero I'm going to restart everything and see if it doesn't clear up. if not I will come back tomorrow and seek help. I found out why counts were zero somehow i turned off power supply seems to be working for now.

OK I figured out two or three mistakes that seem to be easy to make,

1. make sure if things aren't working right that all power switches are in correct position. including hubs

2. after any change in cgminer settings overclocking or other pool settings etc.  reboot the router otherwise it will just show an error message in api logs

3. after configuring route check all IP settings as some don't always get updated automatically. (one I had to go change was found here) Under the overview tab
at bottom of page  in network there is a BR-LAN link I had to go in and reset these.  hope this helps anyone setting one of these up that is almost there but can't quite make it work.

I'm very limited in computer skills such as using the command line, and while this was a little tricky for me to figure out persistence pays off. if you have any level of knowledge of networking etc this should be a doable for you. now that I managed to get 1 up and running I will be ordering a few more since I have it figured out now, if I have this right I should be able to
1 unplug USB
2 plug USB powered hub into tp link then plug my miners into hub and they shoul all be up and running on their own pretty quick after a reboot.

Reverse engineer from time to time
Technobit devices are now supported on cgminer 4.0.0 on Windows. The reason it didn't work stemmed from a GCC extension feature which was broken under Windows. Took me a couple of days to figure out the problem and I reported to marto74 along with binaries.

The only device that needed further patching to be detected under Windows was their very first device, the HEX16A1(the only available one I had for testing).

I could provide binaries, but you don't know me so instead I link to 2GOOD's post with the binaries https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.5903836 but note that those binaries will work with devices >HEX16A1 since it doesn't feature my HEX16A1 patch.

Interesting! Will the technobit OpenWRT image with cgminer also work for ASIC products from other manufacturers like BFL, HF, etc?

loshia told me that other driver won't work  Sad

It might if you went into settings and turned off every app except network (don't) as turning that off will kill access to router also I would leave cgminer on, but most of the rest is a translation program (this is why it takes Hexminer in Windows to translate into something cgminer can understand)  I don't know if it would work even then but there is a setting under system properties where you can switch the design setting from openwrt to bootstrap I don't know anything about bootstrap but someone else here might be able to tell you is you could use it for BFL ETC under bootstrap.

found the log and was doing something wrong because I was getting the socket connection refused message
went into some of the advanced settings and found I was not connecting properly think I may have it now.

By the way Flashing the router was the easy part  Grin

You can check cgminer-api log page to see your board status or you can use ssh client to open cgminer status windows.

OK I got the 3020 got it flashed and updated, got IP set and after remembering to plug the miner into 3020 instead of powered hub I seem to be getting somewhere, got my pool configured. lights blinking indicating data transfer but can't really tell if its working as BTCGuid charts have long refresh times is there anyway to use this interface to tell or must I use Terminal? I'm not great in command Line so If I can stay out of it that would be nice.
