Btw I don't understand at all what kind of payments users usually mean. If you mean that you'll top up your XAPO balance (for example) and then pay with their card automatically, yeah, it's quick and optimal option but it's very annoying if you plan to go in a supermarket when there are a lot of peoples and queues and then login into your wallet and do payment manually. It will significantly more time if done traditionally but things can be improved if they add an additional screen to show address barcode but again, what happens if user sends with low fee transaction? In this case supermarkets may need a system that will check what's current average tx fee and suggest you a fee to set manually on the screen.

If that happened then nobody would be happier than me.  Just think we are doing some shopping from the super shop through bitcoin, we can buy fish and meat from the market.  We are even able to meet all our needs.  What could be better news than this?  I think everyone in this organization is waiting for this news.

Actually, I have seen quite a few with the same concept that you have described. The only problem is that I am not sure about the legitimacy of the ones I saw that offer such service since I never experienced using these kind of services even once since I am quite afraid of being scammed or whatever. Just to be clear though, even if this is the case, I am pretty positive that in the coming years, a lot more will appear and would be 100% legit. Specially when the Bitcoin or any crypto currency in this industry gets more and more known in various parts of the world(more mainstream I think?).

What for? You will get pleasure from this or something? This is likely to happen, but not soon.

Yes that's a good idea but nowadays there are few markets where bitcoin is accepted but if someone wants to use online then so many ways available like bitrefill apps where you can use bitcoin and some other cryptocurrency to buy gift voucher and you can also do mobile recharge using cryptocurrency

Accepting Bitcoin is just optional for now and we can never tell which country has fully accepted Bitcoin at their supermarket or even in the big establishment. Not this time but for sure, there is a moment to come that Bitcoin is being used the majorities. There are still things needed to fixed before finally welcoming it and one of these things is SPEED, which we probably need an instant confirmation. Yeah, it just crazy to long a few minutes to confirm a single transaction and that it was not favorable to all users.
You are right about that, Bitcoin is only an optional that the user can choose to process the payment. Supermarkets that accept bitcoin payments are certainly in countries that have legalized bitcoin, for countries that still ban bitcoin this will not be possible. Starbuck some of the biggest fast food stores also provide payment options with bitcoin. Large companies began to adopt bitcoin because they realized that bitcoin technology was able to compete and could develop even better.

Payment speed issues require a third party payment gateway like Bitpay and instant confirmation will cause hassle for merchants and customers as @ bryant.coleman says.

Just a feeling I have. It's all credit cards and dollars and shit.

Yeah, I'd rather spend the shit money and save my bitcoins, but I can't wait until I can use real money everywhere. I'd rather get paid in bitcoin and spend bitcoin.

Already available in Slovenia through phone.

And basically everywhere with Coinbase VISA card.

There are already many places that accept Bitcoin as a payment method and the number of them continues to increase. I would like to use Bitcoin on as many as possible shops, markets etc. .  But I am not sure about getting paid in Bitcoin on my main job. Because Bitcoin is volatile and I wouldn't be relieved because of that. However, I would like to get paid by Bitcoin on my side jobs and I would keep that money on Bitcoin to make profit.

Exactly. I have the same feeling with you. I guess, time will come that we can actually enjoy our Bitcoin earning as a whole, especially in spending it in the Supermarket, and even in the public market as payment for groceries and other goods that we need daily.
I think it won't take that long to happen especially that we are now fully digitalized and covid-19 is still around us and we really don't know how long will this virus be vanish completely. Bitcoin payment system is really a big help if this could be implemented.

Instant confirmation is not possible with Bitcoin and you need a third-party payment gateway for that (such as BitPay). It similar to making payments with fiat cash, using PayPal or Visa. Direct payments cause unwanted complexities for both the merchant and the customer, in the form of taxation and market volatility. Also, no one will be willing to wait for 10-20 minutes, just to get a confirmation.

Whether you can wait or not, you have to. And it is far from possible that something like this will happen in the near future or will happen at all. By the way, in some countries, such as the Philippines, I think this innovation will be one of the first.
So all you need to do is move to another country. As for the more developed countries, banking and financial regulators cannot afford to let cryptocurrency into everyday life so easily.

So are you telling us that Philippines will have stores or shops that will directly accept bitcoin or crypto, no other third party involved?

I think the major hurdle when it comes to bitcoin transaction is if the store needs to wait at least 1 confirmation, so the customer should use higher fees to get it thru fast. Otherwise, he will be waiting for hours just to go thru his transaction. Or better yet, use other alts like xrp, which has very low tx fee and it is pretty fast as well.

I have already payed in a supermarket using bitcoin some years ago. But I used a debit card loaded with some coins.
Or I have sent some coins to a friend that was paying for me in cash.
I don't think at current status this could be possible, we need LN or other implementation since it could be very hard and expensive pay at groceries with coins (imagine wait for at least 1 confirmation ... :O )

If I remember correctly, I payed some "aperitifs" just with coins... but I was in a bitcoin meetup Tongue it was easy pay there with my crypto.

If you used a debit card which can be loaded with Bitcoin.... then I am sorry to inform you that you made the payment in fiat currency and not using cryptocurrency. I also have a debit card issued from Wagecan, which I use to make payments and ATM withdrawals. But here, the transactions are being done in fiat currency. As soon as I load my card with Bitcoins, they are converted in to fiat cash. Direct payment using Bitcoin is still very rare.

I used both wirex and advcash as card. If I remember correctly wirex allow to spend directly crypto (like a conversion in real teim)
Yes I know technically in this case I used directly fiat and not crypto.
But the source of the funds was in crypto Smiley I mean it was another way to exchange/spend some coins.
As I have already said it could be close to impossible wait some minutes before you can leave a supermarket Wink since it could be even possible a double spend

I also really want to use Bitcoin at the supermarket. Not only that, it would be great if I could use Bitcoin for transactions to buy goods
in various large market places on the internet. Like Amazon, Ebay, Alibaba, Rakuten and others. But maybe this will happen a few years
from now, the most important thing is that the government must start accepting Bitcoin as payment. What makes me sad that currently
there are very few countries that accept Bitcoin as payment.

Online retailers such as Amazon and Ebay are unlikely to accept Bitcoin as a mode of payment, because they have partnerships with PayPal and Visa/Master. Also in case of Amazon, they have their own payment gateway known as Amazon Pay. Bitcoin is a competitor for Amazon Pay and this explains why Amazon is reluctant to allow it in their platform.

You are right brother. Amazon and eBay are less likely to accept bitcoin as a payment method. But if the use of bitcoin increases around the world, the I hop all online shop will accept bitcoin as a payment method. Because they think of the convenience of the customers first. So, we should all work for the spread of Bitcoin from our own place. But before that, Bitcoin needs to be legalized in some large economical country like China, USA, Russia and India. I hope if they legalize BTC then the BTC will spread more easily. And the value of BTC will increase more.
