I think you should continued doing the same thing that made you realise that amount of bitcoins. Maybe you can add some other good coins to your portfolio. NEO, EOS AND STEEM would also be a good addition to your portfolio .

I think you have to remove number 4 on the list and stick with 1,2, and 3. But the number 3 is risky but it is not a bad idea if you really know how to handle it. And lastly, holding the bitcoins is the best option you can do here but if you think you can have more profit with the alt coins you want to invest on just go with it.  Smiley

lock 6 away in cold storage for 5+ years.

Take the other 6 and keep trading like you are, nobody can really tell you what to do, depends on your risk profile.

You done a great job to make 12 bitcoin from just a little capital. And you should hold your 25% bitcoins now as its will go to 25000$ level till Dec-2018., 50% capital invest in good altcoins like Ether, Steller, Cardno, Verge and NEO, as this altcoins are very very good to hold for log term to get good profit because this all coins have good growth, Other 25% capital you should invest in good ICO for a massive listing gain.

If you still have 12 Bitcoins, you can exchange them to altcoins you believe in you go on keeping the crypto. Do not hurry up to farewell with the coins, — they will bring you more profit in future if you do it.

Ohhh.. twelve bitcoin is already a huge amount. I think you should be careful since 12 BTC is a serious thing that you need to take care enough in all actions that you will do.
You must hold it in order to have  a huge income that will come in future.
It is better to invest half of these bitcoins in other crypto currencies and ICO. Thus, you diversify your investments and increase the chances of making a good profit. Some altcoins and coins after the ICO showed much greater growth than bitcoin.

You should be continue what you've did from first. This 4 options is the best as far as I know. You will answer too what your question, I think you are good in trading too. Or buy BTC again and wait the time it will rise. More invest, more time. And keep it safe in scammers.

I am inclined to the option 2) Invest in altcoins and leave a bit in Bitcoin. You are a skilled trader when you earned 12 btc in 6 months and started with $ 1000 and 0.01 btc. Congratulations and I wish great luck in this business.

Edit: My current portfolio:
VeChain 80%
Ethereum 10%
Bitcoin 10%

I have 12 Bitcoins. I am not a whale. I started about 6 months ago with 0.01 Bitcoins and $1000. I turned it into 12 Bitcoins so far and am pretty proud to say the least.

My question is, what do I do now?

As far as I can see, I have 4 options;

1) Hold the Bitcoin

2) Invest in altcoins and leave a little in Bitcoin

3) Fund a project and start my own cryptocurrency that solves a problem that current currencies face (scalability, Tx fees etc.). With the funds, I would be able to assemble a team, start a marketing campaign, get listed on exchanges etc. I am also a programmer which helps.

4) Convert it to fiat (probably the dumbest idea)

Edit: I should also add, I dropped out of school and have all the time in the world so can fully commit to any idea. I will earn my living of cryptocurrencies.

A few people have asked how I made my money so, if you are interested, here is a short summary:

Initially, I put it all into Bitcoin during the massive FUD of the fork around June when Bitcoin dipped to $1,900. Then I put half my money into NEO before all of the hype at around $12 and cashed out at $40. Then I invested in a couple ICO's and turned a pretty good profit of off the hype. After that, I got back in on NEO as soon as China announced the regulations regarding ICO's and rode the wave back from around $20 to $40 (I can't quite remember). Then, I rode the hype of Ethereum Dark, eBitcoin and a few other airdrop scams. Finally, I got in on Wincoin before it got to coinmarketcap and turned a 20x profit.

I suggest the option number 4, although leave 80% of your holdings in Bitcoin then the rest, Invest it at altcoins. I can see that you are an experienced trader and know what you are doing, and so I recommend investing 20% of it on altcoins you see has high potentials. Bitcoins value is still on the low side, but just to be safe the 80% must be in Bitcoins, then give time for bitcoin to rise again.

That's a lot of bitcoin right there. Well, you clearly know your choices but as for me, i think it is best to use 60% of it and purchase some altcoins that are perfect for long term investment but you better be careful since there are so many altcoins out there but has less chance of growth.

I think you should invest in many altcoins and in ico which really solve the problem ) because if you want to create your own crypto you need a lot of sources, not only 12 bitcoins  Smiley

dont just stick in just one currency there is a lot of great opportunity that we may ever see right now and 12 bitcoins you may ever start by then with just atleast a few of them so better to take and see what coin are there for having some potential of the way on how you are may able to invest and start for.

Sell them and buy Ethereum and NEO for all your bitcoins. It will be more profitable then holding your bitcoins.
Its enough for daily trade too. You can buy Gunbot and get your daily profits

This is a good idea, but I would diversify the investment even more by adding a few more promising crypto currencies, such as monero and nem.
