So many people are always loosing caused by this policy. Could not the team create a swap service that will exist until all of people will have swapped their coins? The team can at least try to do swap to the all of coins.
I would like to call the developers that were using this policy as scammers. The investors who have invested their money deserve more than being scammed with this policy.

that's the risk of holding a shit coin, try contacting the developer to discuss serious matters that have happened to you, and usually before changing their coin they first give a grace period to sell or exchange the coin, but if you don't monitor the progress of the coin it means it's purely your fault yourself
well the unexpected occurrence as a result of improper orientation when entering the crypto world is part of what cause things like this as well as the get rich quick mindset. thats why people just leave their asset with annoyance and when things later come up positive, it turns out to be missing out like this. i hope investors will be properly oriented.
There is one thing that really deserves to be taken into account when wanting to HOLD cryptocurrency. namely ensuring that the coins can last during the investment period or HOLD that we are planning. If it does, then we don't know what the future of the coin will be. hence, I personally only use top altcoins for long-term investments. Meanwhile, some altcoins, especially the newest ones, are only used when trading or short investments.

Kudos to the OP for letting us know more about token swapping, I expected the developers of those swapped tokens to allow hodlers to swap them at their convenience without a time limit, because a lot of hodlers might not be aware of such a swap, losing a hard tokens due to swapping amount to dishonesty and untrustworthy on the part of the developers, this is a wake up call to all unpopular tokens hodlers to always catch up with the latest news about their respective tokens to avoid this kind of touching stories.
I always try to hold my money in decentralized coins. Sometimes i need to hold centralized coin but i always try to hold in popular coins.
I guess all the coins that we are having right now is both centralized and decentralized with respect to what OP is mentioning.All coins are centralized because one or many devs control it and they may decide at any time for any kind of swap which is the major problem right now OP is facing.
Most of the coins are decentralized because they allow mining.
So, you may not prevent the problem what OP is facing just by choosing decentralized coins.
Some of them have a longer period for swapping old tokens.
It happened to me with CRPT but I managed to swap them even though the swapping period was over.

It wasn't all your fault actually but you are somehow responsible with all the token you just lost. Whenever a certain coin will make progress or change, they will surely announce it to those who are currently on hold, if you missed it then unfortunately you cannot do anything about it anymore. You can still try actually to contact them and ask if they have a solution like letting you swap the tokens you have to their newly updated one but if they wouldn't allow it, sad to say but all your tokens are really worthless. Atleast you learned from your mistake, let this be a guide in order for you to avoid experiencing the same thing once again.

Unfortunatelly it happens very often..
Choosing the right coin at time of investment is the key to success. Most of us choose coins that are cheap and have catchy slogans, ideas, website etc. Most of such coins turn out to be shit coins. If you are to invest in altcoin then choose solid coins like ETH, Polka, BNB etc.
By Keeping coins, you should be updating yourself regularly. You never know what will Happen just like in your case. Announcements are made I believe when they are about to swap or switch their coins and if you haven't heard of it, then your at fault at this. Try reaching for them, they might have a solution at hand cause you might not be the only one got passed. Then again, Thanks for the concern.

But you’re still right though, that’s why it’s good that if you’re buying coins you should not buy too much to the extent that you can’t keep an eye on them, and also wen you make an investment you shouldn’t keep your eyes off them, you should make sure that you have your focus there.

If you are holding some tokens, you should keep yourself updated so that you won't miss any important news such as token swap. It is your fault for not following their announcement or updating yourself on the activity of the token you are holding. Before the swap, they announce it months before swapping. But I can relate to you since I also missed swaps of some of my holdings but the owner shouldn't limit the timeframe when to swap their token since if they do, the purpose of their swap is to caught any holders off guard and keep the unswapped token to themselves which is the same as scamming these uninformed holders.

If there are chances to swap maybe you can swap only follow what is the way to do it. Usually swap will give people time to do it and it is worth to do. This is incredibly common, sometimes this is done because there is a legitimate need to swap coins but many times this is an attempt by the developers to try to make people lose their coins and cut down the supply and maybe even keep those coins for themselves, the only coin that you can hold and forget is bitcoin, every other single coin should not be held that long and you should at least check the official channels once a week so this does not happen to you. Yes, that is normal to have that bad feeling, especially if we know the news but we are too late to execute. But maybe we can still have a chance to make a profit by searching for more news about the tokens. I am sure that we can still get benefits for that and we need to be patient to find that way. Yeah the "bad" thing about crypto is that even if you just want to be a longtime hodler and are not planning to touch your coins for 5 years or so, you can't just completely forget about them for that long period of time. I personally had this with Modum and SMARC. Both of them swapped their tokens against some kind of shares and for that you had to download a app first. Then send your tokens to a burn address, do KYC. So if i would not have checked on telegram from time to time or here in the forums i probably would have missed that and my Tokens would be completely worthless now.
