I took a look at your post history and I think your posts are all decent. You’re well on your way to getting the merits you desire. Don’t rate your contribution base on your post count/merit ratio.  Just keep engaging in forum discussions, I would suggest you keep your activity in bitcoin discussions higher than gambling discussion. Merit sources do not frequent the gambling board. Also gather more information so you can contribute to topics in different areas of the forum.

You’ve obviously observed very correctly especially with particular reference yo how it affects you and the way it’s been able to affect your forum participation.
The forum is a very large place and have got millions of users across all culture but despite its population, it’s also been able to note those who standout amongst others. It doesn’t really matter if your just a newbie, besides not all newbies are newbies and to avoid aiding in the growth of some existing users account that would be used in spamming the forum in months to come, users have learned to be very careful on how they merit I think.
Ensuring it’s very deserving of whatever is been give out.

Instead of learning how to earn merit which would t do you much good, that’s because, the reason you’re here or should be here is to discuss the Bitcoin innovation and cryptocurrency idea. Once your purpose and intent aligns about this point, you might get noted for the contribution you bring and the forum goods will follow.

I've been advised that as a newbie i shouldn't rush but to learn from old forum members and grow. But then, I've seen that for one to grow over here you need to get merited and on a regular basis, well i believe at this point i should've been able to acquire some merits, despite the fact that I'm still a Newbie but then i don't see the Merits coming, even after some post i felt could fetch the Merits. It makes me wonder if my posts are not Merit worthy or Quality enough.
If you are desperate Looking for merit, it might be difficult for you to get merit, because if some members notice you are posting for the sake of merit, they will end up not meriting you, so if you are posting, don’t have it in mind you will be receiving merit, just post because you want to learn here, or you want to make make impact to the forum. Some of your post might be useful to some people, and they will want to merit it, but if they don’t have smerit, then it won’t be possible for them to merit you. You might think some of your post are worth meriting, but it might not worth meriting to people, but the best thing is, stop thinking about merit and post freely.

Though it almost got me díscouraged, however instead of being discouraged, I'm open to learning ways or how to get the Merits and grow on here, my questions are what I'm i doing wrongly? How can i improve it and also where is the best board to write on if i need these Merits coming?
You shouldn’t be discouraged by you not getting merit, all what I have to tell you is that, keep on putting more effort, and everything is not about creating thread, even when you make quality reply, then you will be able to receive merit. The only aspect I know you are getting it wrong is that, you are desperate looking for merit, which is not suppose to be like that.

don't think too much about merits, a lot of newbies worry about not getting merit and it is one of the prevalent reasons that I see why a lot of them create threads talking about not getting merit. just be active, join discussions, learn new crypto-related things, share information, etc... that is the main reason for this forum, merit will eventually come to you if you are here long enough.

try reading this thread Bitcointalk posting etiquette, it might give you some tips and ideas on how to improve the way you post.

...

AVE5 started to point in the right direction of what I was about to write...

My advice is to change your mindset about how to get Merit, because if your mindset is like that then you will not develop, there will only be despair. believe me, everyone on this forum all started from newbies, nothing is instant. ...

The point is, don't focus too much on Merit, but focus on self-development so that it is useful for other users, and there are also several threads that give users the opportunity to review their posts by other users. If your post is quality they will give you Merit. Keep learning friends, don't give up and keep trying to contribute to this forum. I'm sure you will get Merit, as long as you change your mindset about this forum.

...but puloweh555's post sums it up quite nicely. Do not focus on collecting merit, you likely will fail with such a fixation or it will be a long unhappy grind.

I'd rather focus on being able to learn,  participate and contribute in topics that I'm interested in. Participation should mean you add some value to a topic or discussion with your posts. Try to contribute something that's missing in a thread but stay on-topic and don't hijack threads with your own off-topic stuff, that's usually not appreciated well. If you can't, don't post, just read more. As a newbie you also don't necessarily need to open new threads, many "newbie topics" have been opened already and before.

You may find out that this needs some learning about certain details. Do read and learn, your knowledge will grow, your ability to contribute to discussions will grow, quality of your posts may grow (learn from good examples)... then without need to think or focus on it, merits will come.

Don't chase merits, it will ruin your forum experience. But if you came here with a focus to develop your account to participate in signature campaigns, then, well, good luck with that.

OP first of all, I will sincerely tell you that you are not doing anything wrong and should not be discouraged because nothing good comes easy. Don't also feel that your post is not seen and recognized, your posts are actually seen by some merits source but maybe any of the merits source might not have merits at that particular time to dispose.

keep on reading the threads of the high ranked members and also see how they create their topics and try and understand the difference between their post and your post and take necessary correction for improvement. i will also advise you to continue making reasonable contributions and have it in mind that one day merit will come as expected.

lastly, try and navigate the forum and find a particular board that you understand more and be making a quality contribution and sometimes you will start a topic to try your strength and don't hurry to post in all the boards because the forum is very vast for you to know all in a short time.

From my own experience two things are involved in getting merits, firstly the quality of your post maters because nobody is going to merit a shit post that doesn't add any meaningful contribution, the board and the thread you are making your post are also important, because some boards and threads hardly get  merits expecially from a merit source, my advice is that you should look at those that are getting merits, the kind of boards and threads they are visiting and the meaningfulness of their post and arrive at your own conclusions about this , just do this and thank me later, because I did it I believe you too can do even more better. I also felt same way when I started it took a month navigating the forum before I could get a merit. Given up is not the best options you have to strive harder never given up, the journey of a thousand miles begins with a step you have already made the step by joining the forum so you shouldn't give up now and probably regret later on.

You're primarily not here to acquire merits nor to grow your rank but you're her to grow your bitcoin and crypto related investment knowledges. You can also take an advantage to advance your everyday life in both economy and societies.
Dear mate Op, while you're here and currently a beginner, I'd advice you to stick to create quality and constructive posts. Especially posts that would either serve for solutions or something kind Worth deliberating. Then you can obtain merit if your post interests any forum users who has a Sendable Merit to appreciate your post.
If I may ask Op, what's your aim of being here in this bitcointalk discussion forum?

It can be a bit annoying when you think you are doing the right thing but aren't getting the expected results. Most newbies who come to this forum hope to get acquainted with the place, quickly ingratiating themselves here by following the laid down rules but when the merits don't come flowing, it can dampen the courage of some. I just feel you should continue doing what you do, coupled with the advices of the other users . Even if you want to check on the post patterns of other users that got merited, try not to lose your originality simply because you are being desperate to get merits.
Some of these merit sources look for something peculiar when doling out merits and as such will want to take their time. Another thing I've observed is that  sometimes these merits come when you least expect it so just continue doing what you do.

Maybe you will also need to answer the need to why you insisted on receiving this merit.
First off, I'll like to say thanks for your honest reply, I've observed the replies from everyone on this thread and I've taken note of my errors and would work on them, cause I believe that's one of the purpose of joining this great Bitcoin forum, which is to learn and impact knowledge in anyway I can.

However, your question of why i insisted on getting Merits is very funny, it's just like asking a student in college why they need good grades, or asking a farmer why they need manure or fertilizer to grow their crops, if I'm not mistaken we are all here in the forum to learn as well as impact knowledge in any way we can and also grow while we're in the process.

Well, according to the forum, one need Merits as well as your activity to grow on here, if you had asked why I'm in a hast to grow, I think it would've been understandable but then. Well I see you're a Hero ranking Member, Asides your activities if you didn't receive Merits how would you had gotten to that point?

Growth takes time and patience. Everyone has their own set of preferences and expectations. It's a learning process, and you'll get better with time.

What you can do is engage in meaningful discussions, share your thoughts, and contribute positively. Identify the boards where your expertise or interests align. Contributing to boards where you can provide valuable insights increases your chances of getting noticed and receiving merits. Merits often come from participating in meaningful discussions. Share your opinions, ask thoughtful questions, and provide well-reasoned answers.

This is all I can say; Rome wasn't built in a day. Patience is key, focus on consistent, quality contributions, and over time, you'll likely see the recognition you deserve. It's not just about the merits; it's about the journey of learning and contributing. Stay positive and keep improving.

Disregarding the 2 posts that have been deleted from your posting history, I don’t really see anything wrong with the post content you’re creating, although I’m not familiar with the meriting ins and outs in some of the boards you post on (i.e. Economics, Gambling, Politics & Society for example). Posts in Off-topic are not likely to be merited (not sure if you posted there by choice, or the thread was moved over there at some point).

If it’s any use, I too around a month and a half to receive my first merit on the forum, which is the current age of your account. So there’s that …

Receiving merit is not from your own end to judge whether a post you made is quality or not, it is in the best of interest of those coming across the post and how they got convinced that your post carries a lot of thoughts and its deserving to be merited, if they have smerit, they will give you and this is applicable to all members and the merit sources as well, you don't have to write a full page before receiving a merit, a single line or half can generate you merits as long as it contains the accurate quality standard of post being on point.

my questions are what I'm i doing wrongly?

Nothing, but you're missing the quality standard of what makes others to receive merits.

How can i improve it and also where is the best board to write on if i need these Merits coming?

Maybe you will also need to answer the need to why you insisted on receiving this merit.

Don't rush like trying to do short cuts on learning important, but rather be aggressive to learn a new information everyday which can help you to last long and compete with people who's earning some good fortune from the opportunities they can see here.  But actually you don't need a merit on regular basis since anyone can get earn if you are skilled enough to do some task. Only those people aim to join in a campaign want to get that merit since they want to rank up so that they can get more higher pay rates.

If you aim to get merits then try to post something valuable that can help other people to understand what are been discussed in the thread. Also just stay relevant and consistent since you can naturally earn those merits .

I can’t say that your posts are bad; you are on the right track. I see that you are ready for discussions and try to answer as fully as possible. You can also show a list of your posts to the source of merit; somewhere here in the newbie's topic, there is this topic. Or in the Nigerian section, as far as I have heard, your compatriots are successfully published there.
The only thing I can advise is not to lose heart. You are waiting for your first merit. This happens to probably every newbie. But after that, you just need to forget about merit. Just by communicating and reading, you will certainly be read by others, which will bring you a lot of merit.

First of all dont aim for merits at the start of course youll be named as merit earner or something. Dont try hard just be natural. Many newbies thought that posting a long post or a huge wall could give them merits. Maybe it is but its case to case basis since most users have their long post with sense but if youll just joined with an empty knowledge and just going to post for merits then nothing will work out. Make sure to build content or topics that are worth noticing if no idea just read some references.

For you to grow is different from for your account to grow.

Which one are you here for? To grow your crypto knowledge or to grow your account?

Because many newbies are too focused on growing their accounts by earning merits, they fixed their mind in this and it makes them failed miserably.

That's because they are too concern about what doesn't matter, merit isn't something you can rush out, you need to be active and learn then engage in discussions to be merited.

But isn't gaining knowledge about crypto should be the first priority of every new crypto investors? You won't get anywhere chasing merits, spend time to learn first.

Change your posting habits.  I  had a glance on your history and, to be frankly, was not impressed. Politics, Economics, Off-topics are not the boards welcomed by merits. Learn some technical stuff which  would intrigue  users for a while.  As the song goes, "all learners travel so hard", and it takes time, but, it  will be more than pay for itself.

Chasing merit is not one of the best way of getting them. If you which to get merits quickly then you must make quality post that is helpful to someone. I remember when I came to forum, at first I felt bad because it's just obvious that I wasn't helpful to the forum, but when I began to learn and create informative and helpful contents, the merits started coming in. The best advise I can give to you now is to forget about merit and focus on learning. You can even track some quality posters and learn from their inspiring contents to build your knowledge, and when you give out your knowledge the merits will definitely come.
