It for sure did. In the Philippines stuff doesn't usually cost much compared to the rest of the world, but since the newly-seated president's regime we're slowly getting fucked in the prices here. Rice which is a staple food of many in my country have become so expensive people at the highest seat of power are already looking for alternatives, while the rest are pointing fingers as to whom to blame for the lack of action. Groceries and food items continuously shoot up in prices, at some point even along the levels of countries like the US while we're getting paid peanuts here.

Altogether things are not looking so good for everyone. We can't really hope for change here since the people that were appointed by the stupefied masses are no-goods and lazy-asses who only see the presidency as a newfound way to steal money from the people.

Inflation caused the rise of price and then it was starting to settle down. It also dropped down a bit in the past. But it is starting to get up again. I am sure it is not because of the inflation for sure. Because it was over, well kinda. But that should have led to a stable or lower price again. That's not what happened. There was an incident that took place a few days ago. I guess others can agree on this.

There was this syndicate that was working to raise the price of a particular food item. What you were able to get for 50 tk per kg, went to 1k tk per kg. Imagine that. What they were doing was, creating a shortage in the market by storing that item in the storage. Buying at low to store and then releasing a portion in the market with a higher price. I am not sure if that's what happening there but there could be another reason. Like they farmed those items during inflation and they are not getting the price they were hoping for after inflation. Maybe that's the case. I donno.

Food prices are increasing in every country in the world and the purchasing power of people is decreasing according to their income.
Food prices have been skyrocketing since Covid-19, coupled with the Russia-Ukraine war.Not in our country, but in almost developed and developing countries of the world, the price of food has increased at a high rate. Even if the rich countries cannot control the prices in their country, the income of the people in their country is high. They are not facing much problem due to which they are able to live fairly but in almost all the states in our country and our neighboring countries the prices are increasing rapidly along with it in some states.
Like Sri Lanka Pakistan and many other countries which are waiting to declare bankruptcy, our country is not doing very well and especially in the last one-year prices are increasing excessively which has effect all around.Cucumber or other tomatoes or various essential vegetables which we used to get at a low price are now skyrocketing
We are actually wondering whether the prices are actually increasing in our country or not every country is suffering from this calamity due to food crisis effects of war drought high unemployment etc. the price of food is increasing day by day.One of the many reasons is the increase in food prices, fuel is the most important by which we operate air, water, ships, railways, etc. Due to the increase in the price of these oils, our costing costs are high.As a result, traders will not be able to continue unless the price of raw materials is increased, and if we talk about agriculture, the situation is even more dire. Why can't they sell the product at a low price due to the middleman, they are increasing the price through the syndicate. But because of the broker boy, the prices are increasing at the rate of 15 to 20%. What about other countries, the production rate of agriculture in our South Asian countries is comparatively decreasing by 15 to 20% of what was produced before.Production is decreasing

Finally, I can say that there are many reasons for the increase in price, one of them is war, increase in oil price, syndicate, rough weather, etc.But we should all be frugal so that we can get by fairly with little money, and world leaders should stop the war and make a sound plan to get the world back to where it was before. I mean the previous state Countries like Pakistan, Afghanistan, Sri Lanka, Nigeria, South Sudan, Ukraine, etc. have to buy food at very high prices, so we can say that not only we are in danger, the people of the whole world are in danger Price causes price increase.

You cannot compare all farmers, they plant different crops, some will have a good harvest, some will have a bad one, but farmers in any case bear greater risks than distributors, since they can plan at what price they will buy goods from farmers and at what price they will sell it.

Food prices will always rise primarily due to inflation, it is an almost constant process that never stops. Everything from seeds to fertilizers and fuel, which is needed in large quantities for harvesting, is becoming more expensive. Climate can also affect certain segments, if the year is very dry, prices will be even more expensive.
I would guess that it is not simple to be a farmer because of the risks, but you are doing a job that has absolutely no qualification at all so it should not really be as simple as "get some seed, plant it, water it, harvest it, profit". That is of course not possible, there are huge corporations that buy nearly island size plots of lands to farm and ranch, so they could make millions and millions of dollars from it and that is why a simple farmer may not have the equal chances.

This is a difficult job as much as any other job, distributor is getting risks as well and it should be important for the future to be not that easy to handle, I think it would have been an important thing to do and would be better in the end.

In my country, groceries like bread, meat, milk, cheese, and eggs have increased causing hardship particularly for lower-income households and overall economies. One of the reasons I think this is happening is there have been disruptions in global food markets due to planting season disruptions. To cope with the rising cost, if it is not super essential, I do not buy it. I have cut down on bread and replaced it with fruits and vegetables. Eating out is now once per week with friends if it is so important. There are a lot of other stuff that I do to save money too.

Perhaps each country will have its own difficulties. In my country, especially in the countryside where I live, fruits and vegetables are more expensive than things like bread, eggs, and milk. I guess each region's food needs are different.
But in general, even though inflation lasted for nearly 2 years, the people of my village did not encounter too many difficulties because they could produce their own goods such as rice, eggs, and vegetables...I'm not saying their prices haven't increased, but in my opinion they haven't increased significantly.

It is true that every region has significant food needs because each region is also able to produce significant food products, both in volume and in quality. For example, here in my country, each region is known for producing different food products, some are known for producing rice, and some for fish and other seafood. Such a thing is the reason why local trade happens, our region exports foods that are produced here to other regions while other regions do the same to our region. In most cases, locally exported products have higher prices, like in my area, seafood has higher prices while in the area where my mother lives rice and meat costs are higher. However, when inflation hit, it seemed as if it didn't matter what your area is rich in, all prices of food and necessities skyrocketed and what I usually spend for a month's worth of groceries is now being used to suffice 2 weeks' worth of food.

But I was wondering if this only happened in my country or in your country too?
The price increase of rice is the current problem that we're facing here. Rice is our staple food here and it's struggle for many (especially to the less fortunate) to afford buying rice. Imagine, almost everything are increasing yet the salary of the workers are still the same. It's hard to cope if you're just relying on your salary and no other source of income.

Some people are even blaming the particular politician they elected from the past election for not doing what he promised during its campaign. Well, we have no choice but to go with flow, work hard and keep striving for our family.

Well, that is really how the people voted, so we have nothing to do with this but just find a source of income that can make us a living because right now all foods, even the cheapest ones that the poor can afford, are getting expensive, like vegetables. They can't now buy or sometimes get them for free because they are expensive. I also don't see any price drop in the future, and I do really hope that the price of rice will get back to its original price because it will be difficult if this continues.

But I was wondering if this only happened in my country or in your country too?

I think that such a bad situation is only in your country. At least I have not heard that even in the southern part of the country where I live there was a drought and the harvest suffered, although I live in a fairly agrarian country with a pronounced agricultural sector.
Is there noopportunoty to do an irrigation in your region? Irrigation is the supply of water to fields that lack moisture, and an increase in its reserves in the root layer of the soil in order to increase soil fertility.
Maybe such work could help to avoid such crises in the future.

Almost the majority of goods here are high-end,  nothing is cheap today, to be honest. Since we cannot stop it as consumers, the only way I see it is for us to find other sources of income to meet our daily needs. Instead of complaining that we know it won't bring us anything good, it's better to be strategic as individuals.

In addition, the whole world is experiencing this rise in the price of goods on the market. Maybe the goods are more expensive for others than here for us, but there are also others that are cheaper for them than here for us.

Every country in the world is facing inflation issues, and the prices of food and daily commodities have skyrocketed. I think the worst is yet to come as the world is about to go into recession, and the Russia-Ukrain war is not looking to end sooner. In my country, the prices of every product have almost doubled in the last 5 to 6 months. Predictions are that the prices might further increase in the coming months.

Well, we have to think about saving money. We switch from expensive foods to foods that are cheaper but with the same nutrition. Because after all, health must be our priority. The increase in food prices has made it difficult for many people with low incomes to meet their daily needs. And this has become a fairly common problem faced by many people.

In my country, it is vegetables and fruits whose prices have increased quite high. So I personally even reduced my fruit purchases a little. Switch from fruit that is slightly expensive to fruit that is cheaper but still contains the same nutritional value. Because for me health and nutritional adequacy must remain a top priority. Because I have to make more money. And all of that requires a healthy and strong body.

I think food here has increased but not as much as in other countries, specially in Europe and the United States.
A kilogram of flour was about 1$ here and one can expect it to find it around 1,1$ or so. Still that is one of the cheapest things one can buy here, because how common and important maize flour is for families here.

On the other hand, imported goods have increased more, but I would dare to say it has more to do with the increase of taxation on importation than pure inflation.
When considering inflation here one needs to talk in terms of USA dollars, otherwise the answer would be yes to everything, since our local currency has suffered a constant loss of value since I can recall. I think it has been 20 years already.  Roll Eyes

well it's always increasing. In a year, according to my calculations, food prices increase more often than they decrease. Usually, at least a year, food prices can increase up to two to three times on big holidays, such as holidays and New Year. Unfortunately, almost no media covered the announcement of the reduction in basic food prices.
Hardly ever the prices of some products decrease after a year time period. And even when it happens, the prices of other basic products we also need are raised considerably, increasing our expenses in every cases. The situation is never favourable for the customer, besides the fact the raises in minimum wage are also purely aesthetics. There is no real increasement in purchasing power.

Also, notice the quality of products being sold decreasing year after year. Raw materials used are weak, have no endurance and in case of food there are less nutrients and taste. Our electronics break more often, our food doesn't taste like decades ago and our clothes and accessories don't last intact for more than 2 or 3 usages.

When we think about it, I don't see progress at all...

The prices of basic food in our country are continuously increasing. Rice, eggs, vegetables, and meat are now reaching a high price. That's the reason why people prefer buying unhealthy food just to save. These days, an average worker here in our country only earns enough to sustain their daily living. Life is a survival race here in our country because of the inflation crisis.
That's the reason why having a single job wouldn't be enough for most of us to afford what we need and to live a comfortable living. Everything is getting really expensive each day and we have no choice but to deal with it since complaining won't help any better.

Recently it seems like it has stabilized a bit maybe? I am not entirely sure but it looks like its doing much better. This is what we absolutely needed, the inflation was so high that everyone was having a harder time, we are still having harder time but at the end of the day we are going to eventually slow down and that was expected, inflation can't go on forever and we can't just make the prices go up every single day. So its slowing down a bit, seems like there are still some increases but its not as bad as it used to be and I think it should be doing fine. Hopefully, everything gets better from here on out, that would make things much easier for us in the future.

The rise in food prices is not connected with any serious crisis. In my opinion, it is all being done artificially. Perhaps it is some kind of international cartel conspiracy. There is a lot of food produced. The situation with the rise in food prices is clearly not without the interference of politicians.

Rising prices of daily essentials now seems to be an international problem as the prices of daily necessities are rising unabated in every country of the world. Not only food prices are increasing but every commodity is increasing in price. The price of fuel oil or edible oil has almost doubled from what it used to be at a normal price. Not only the price of goods has increased, but also the government has increased the amount of VAT on every item, due to which common people have to think a lot and plan to buy any item now. The common man wants the world to be normal and the prices of essential commodities and the prices of fuel and edible oil to return to normal.
Almost all parts of the world are currently experiencing price hikes for basic necessities and this problem continues with the instability of local people's income to buy all necessities. Ironically, drinking wages never went up after the price of basic necessities went up, which made it so difficult for the people to fulfill them. For the common people the increase in all commodities will greatly affect them, especially when talking about fulfilling the right to life which is directly related to the price of basic needs and now some are unable to go through increasingly severe conditions.

Some observers say that a solution is available if a small community has the desire to fulfill basic needs individually. Utilizing vacant land in the yard of the house is one solution as a short term option, but if the government does not try to provide solutions evenly, then the concept offered by observers will not work as expected. So there must be a long-term solution to overcome this problem and the government has a responsibility to solve this problem.
