It is the same here in our country where food prices have gone up, the inflation rate has increased and even if it's not a double-digit percentage still that's quite high for most of us. The transportation sector has also made their hikes for the fares and that's because of unstoppable oil price hikes which is also another cause of the food price increase. Commodities have truly gone up but I believe that despite it's going to be hard to go back to the normal prices that we used to see it, at least a slash of its prices will definitely help a lot of us to cope up with this craziest trend which is the price hikes for most things.

But I was wondering if this only happened in my country or in your country too?
If you know that inflation has occurred in various parts of the world – then you must know what the answer is. I would say YES - prices of basic commodities have risen drastically despite the extreme weather, but it has happened so everywhere that we would almost call it a recession.

You're not the only one who's worried about this - but the average person has voiced those concerns for months before.
Inflation is still ongoing today and there seems to be no improvement. Fiat value continues to be lost as the price of goods continues to increase - so each of us needs to find the best solution to adjust expenses and income.

The residents' economic sector has actually begun to recover and improve in the past few months. But because at this time there was another spike in prices again, it made the people around me start to complain again about the current economy.

But I was wondering if this only happened in my country or in your country too?

true, I also feel the same way and reportedly damn inflation is the reason for the increase in food prices in my city, (a little off topic) I just highlight the lifestyle of young people in my city, they don't seem to realize that their parents are currently economic difficulties, they always hang out in luxury places, even one of my neighbors complained, his son was lazy to find a job and always asked him for pocket money even though they often owed just buying rice.

Even though the difficulties during the last pandemic have gone, the economy in my city (perhaps throughout the world) is not yet completely stable (even though oil prices are still relatively low in my country) so my advice is that we all have to be able to manage our finances wisely at this time, don't waste money.

Since August in my country, the price of food, especially food staples such as wheat, rice and others, has experienced a very high price increase.
The high increases of foods have started since the early of this year. The raise of fuel oil triggers the increase of foods prices. I assume it is not only happening in Indonesia, but some countries in the world also experienced the same. The price of foods actually can be controlled if the government wants to give the solution. Unfortunately, the government in Indonesia seems too busy preparing the presidential election in 2024 and they join the campaign for a particular political party. It is actually the responsibility of the economy minister to solve this problem. However, I have no serious efforts from the minister to deal with the foods price increase.

The residents' economic sector has actually begun to recover and improve in the past few months.
Before the increase of fuel oil, the economic sector has started to grow well. People can do their businesses normally because the pandemic is over. But the rise of fuel oil suddenly changes the situation.

There are things on which it cant really be totally be getting blamed on the government because there are commodity prices which are really that been led up by the market prices and they are just getting in lined with those things and they shouldn't really be taking all the blame but we know that people do really love or commonly be pointing out their fingers into those who had been governing or into those said positions on which i could not blame out people if they do have that kind of insight. This is why instead on making yourself that blaming out someone basing up on the condition
that you do have due to high prices, then it would be just that wise that you should really be that finding up ways to have more income so that you could really be able to survive despite of these
increasing prices. Although not all people would really be capable on doing so but at least you are taking up some action or step to make your life somewhat do able to sustain and prolong
despite of these conditions.

In my country, all I can say that prices have terribly gone so high. I pity those who have nothing to buy because with the current economy prices these days, people won’t no longer survive if they don’t have sufficient funds for survival. That’s the reason why focusing on a single job is not reasonable and dependable anymore, if you can have two-three additional jobs, much better. That will save you from the current inflation, and will help you manage and budget your funds without struggling on how to make your ends meet.

Those importing countries will really feel the heat of the inflation and those that don't have food security and are reliant on it will experience an increase in prices.

Like those rice eating countries, they will have no choice but to get used to the shooting up of prices because many of the exporting countries have stopped doing it.

They're focusing on their own citizens and if they're going to export rice into few countries, they're also going to limit it. That's why those biggest suppliers will able to be control the price.
This is what we are experiencing right now and our government can't do anything about this, we have to deal with it the hard way.
The price of the basic commodities increases as the market continues to drop, many are already suffering and yet our government is not doing anything.
Well, what can you expect from a corrupted government system, this has been the problem I guess we have to deal with this on our own and the better solution is to look for more source of income.

Since August in my country, the price of food, especially food staples such as wheat, rice and others, has experienced a very high price increase. This was apparently caused by the ongoing drought. Which makes several areas of plantations and rice fields fail to harvest due to lack of availability of water to water the plants. And this makes food stocks in the market start to run low from time to time. And yes, the price hike ensued. Rice prices here have even increased by around 9-10 percent in the last month in my area. And I'm afraid the increase will continue. Because many residents are starting to talk that if the drought continues longer then it is feared that the increase will occur higher and faster. For farmers, it can be said that currently they are getting big profits because they can sell agricultural products at high prices. but for ordinary citizens who do not have agricultural land, the current food prices really make them tight.

Same condition which is really happening in my country now on which it isnt really just limited into price of rice or other correlated products but also in other products and services as well on which that everything is

really going into the roof on which it would really be putting you up into a certain situation on which you would really be that struggling if you are really just that earning sufficient or enough out of your dayjob.
Increasing prices does mean increasing spending or expenses on which it would really be putting you up on a tough situation and it do really sucks that your government hadn't really been able to see up some
solutions. One thing that i do have in mind is that if you do see that ricefields are totally able to supply out the masses then it is really just that possible that there might be a shortage just because
they do hold up the supply and make it looks that it was short so that they could be able to increase its price intentionally?

In that case, then they are really just that basically showing that they are really that indeed greedy and really just that minding on their own advantage and this is something
that could really be seen on a corrupted country.

For my country, just after the new president was sworn in, citizens who were living in bad conditions before now have it worse than it was.
This is simply owing to the fact that the USD which is used as exchange rate has risen by almost an imaginable percentage.
We have also had to endure the removal of fuel subsidy and have witnessed hike in crude oil products, gas, light bills, call/data rates, cost of transportation, raw unprocessed and even processed food items and commodities, bank/transaction charges too.

So yes OP, food prices and even interest rates have increased tremendously in my country.

The increase in prices of basic necessities can indeed threaten the lives of ordinary people, especially the lower middle class, who are increasingly having difficulty meeting their basic needs.
However, this seems to be happening in almost all countries and is also caused by several factors, perhaps one of which is the increase in prices of basic necessities due to population growth. As the population of a country increases, the need for basic necessities in that country also increases, this causes the prices of basic necessities in that country to also increase and become uneven.
And also the increase in the price of fuel and electricity which is the cause of the increase in basic commodities or other goods, because those who have businesses will increase their selling prices. And the weather factor is also the cause of rising prices of staples and other materials, and it all depends on the government's reasons for increasing staples or other materials, including war, inflation, global crisis and so on. And here we are required to be independent with our own awareness by minimizing expenses and also looking for additional income or side jobs, and this is the only thing we can do because we cannot do anything to avoid it.

In fact, I believe that prices are rising across the board, not just for food items, but for a variety of other goods as well. In my home country, I have seen prices rise for a variety of other goods as well, which I believe is due to the country's struggling economy. Price increases for goods are not a recent occurrence in my country, especially in the agricultural sector, where I have noticed that they occur annually. As I previously stated, I believe this is due to a weak economy and weak governments taking office.

I'm curious as to why there won't be an increase in food prices given that the methods farmers are utilizing to cultivate their crops are costly. Let's talk about farm equipment, which, as I believe everyone is aware, is something that most farmers cannot afford.and is the duty of government should provide assistance to farmers in purchasing those equipments, however, in all seriousness, the government is failing to do so despite their weak economic situation.

Almost the entire world is currently experiencing an increase in the prices of basic commodities and also the prices of other products. Precisely what I see, the life of our society is now starting to ignore the agricultural sector and before that a lot of agricultural land has changed its function, so that when this condition gets worse, the price of basic commodities will rise sharply. Exporting raw materials abroad beyond the capacity needed by local people in the country will also have a big impact because the supply will decrease. The government has failed to support the lives of its people and failed to ensure survival, especially in regulating prices of basic commodities.

The market is also controlled by people who are greedy and they always see an opportunity to increase the price of goods to make a profit and in the midst of difficult economic conditions in society they take advantage of these conditions to make a profit. Hoarding of basic commodities also often occurs and this factor also affects prices to increase which is uncontrolled in traditional and modern markets.

In Nigeria, the cost of food price is alarming and it is increasing rapidly everyday by day. If you buy a bag of rice today and you want to buy that same bag of rice by next week, you will be shocked to see that the price has increased with 5%. I have been wondering if it is because of the new government that came into power that has caused it because he removed fuel subsidy after ever since then, the price of food items and cost of living hasn't been stable,as it increases simultaneously. Inflation is a big problem to the world economy, especially to the third world countries that depends more on importation than production. Agriculture is now a major means to survive through this inflation.
Yes mate you are correct, I am also a good Nigerian facing the same issue in the country, the price of things is going upper day by day and is not coming down even the governments are not doing anything about it, they are just talking and talking no actions are been taken so in this case I don't believe that things might change anytime soon.
In some locality is very hard for them to cope because it's hard for even the foods and other things to reach there, like in my place we live around water and it's hard for good stuffs and other thing to come through if you don't plan your self very well you will end up starving for the whole week.
Since the economy situations in Nigeria is getting more harder what we should do is just to get more jobs that pays good or do some minor local trading that can give us good profits by the end of the day so we will not just end up hoping for the government all alone.

I think that not only staples food increases in price but each and everything become expensive that a normal man cannot afford to buy it and I think that due to this inflation a poor man will not be able to eat well at Least one time a day.

The price of petrol and other energy costs are very higher and unreasonable in our country and cost of all other things are greatly allied with the energy costs so I think first of all government should take some positive development towards these things.

Other beneficial development will be that they should work on agriculture sector so at least people will be able to eat well because poor people are not concerned with expensive things so if they eat well then they will be satisfied with their lives.

Here in the PH, even there's no drought season as long as there's a problem in the agriculture that affects the plants or even the farmer, government thinks increasing the prices of products will cover the problems. Which is not the solution, if they only provide the agriculture sector more materials, funds and technology that could help them to harvest easily. I'm not pointing this kind of issue but I just remember the running President that he would lessen the prices of the rice to $4 per kilo. Well seems like the prices doubled up now. This is the problem here, they can't add the salaries income for average workers but they could easily increase the prices of goods. Let's say not in the salary but the support like sack of rice to every people. They don't have the funds? Of course its on their wallet what do you expect to an corrupt governance.

It's certainly not an individual phenomenon, but a worldwide issue. However, some countries have been affected more than others, something that can be quickly identified by checking the annual inflation growth for each country. Everything is pretty much more expensive—rent, electricity, gasoline, not just groceries. Vegetables have doubled in price; snacks, soft drinks, and so on have also seen massive increases that aren't justified; and don't get me started on meat and dairy products. Even chicken and pork were generally considered cheap a year or two ago; now they're unbearable.

I used to buy chicken fillet at approximately €6 to €6.50 per kg, and now it's up to €10, and pork steaks from €4.50 to €5.00 to over €7.00 to €7.50. Buying cheese such as Feta or any large-cutting cheese is out of the question. Even budget supermarket chains such as Lidl are too expensive nowadays. The unfortunate is that I don't see any stop at this madness, prices seem to keep increasing.

It is true that currently commodity prices continue to increase, including the price of rice which is the staple food in our country. The reason is, fertilizer prices continue to skyrocket every year. To meet the domestic demand for fertilizer, we still depend on other countries (imports), while the availability of fertilizer is very limited, which causes the price to skyrocket. This makes some farmers confused and confused about the increasing need for fertilizer, while the availability of fertilizer is very limited and the price is expensive.

Rice prices here have even increased by around 9-10 percent in the last month in my area.
In which area do you live? As far as I know, the government has warehouses for basic food supplies, especially rice, spread across every city district and this functions to maintain a stable distribution of commodity needs. An increase of 10% is actually quite high, in my area it has been quite stable since the pandemic ended. Do farmers in your area only trade their products locally?
It is true, if this is implemented or carried out by the central government instructing regional governments, it may not increase until it reaches 10%. But now in reality this is also happening where I am, where the government has failed to make policies and there is no food warehouse to maintain the stability of basic food prices, so that when there is a shortage of food needs prices rise very high.

In addition, this price increase is of course due to the government's mistake in protecting the mafia collectors. Because they buy from farmers at low prices but they sell at high prices in the market, this is what the current government doesn't know what they want. This is what happened to farmers, their crops were bought at low prices by collectors, resulting in an imbalance of farmers with very expensive fertilizer prices, so rice farmers suffered huge losses.

And maybe there is no more capital for reinvestment, sad. If the government wants to eradicate high food prices one by one, it must improve the welfare of farmers by stabilizing the prices of farmers' production of rice, chilies, etc. which of course is followed by very expensive fertilizer so that it costs nothing. There needs to be a balance for farmers so that food prices will also be stable.

There can only be one thing that the government can do so they can easily take action without opposition blocking what they are about to do, Buy the farms of the farmers. If it's not profitable for farmers, the government will buy their farmland. It's been happening worldwide.

All prices of things that are for sale are running high so it's not surprising anymore. Gas prices have doubled since the pandemic. No country today is exempted from this crisis.
The wheat supply chain was blamed because of the Ukraine war and rice in Asia I think was also because India stopped exporting because they wanted food security.
