When we talk about buying some cheap products especially during there harvest seasons, the question is always about preservation.
Still, people associate quality to price as you often don’t find the best quality cheap and this have driven the price of certain products to an insane price. It’s a sad reality but, we often play by these rules eventually.

It's true that normally cheap products are of worse quality too, but it's not always like that. Especially during harvest seasons you can buy a very good quality food for a cheap price. You just have to be careful when buying food. No need to eat food of a bad quality because you are poor. On small local markets there's almost always something similar to what you can find only in gourmet stores in Zurich only it costs 10-20 times cheaper.

If you are residing near the country side, then there is a farmers market where you can buy cheap and fresh goods, but if you are in the metro area, that is really the problem, as everything is expensive and there are times that the cheap is of bad quality, but others are also when it is too late in the night and only a few people are buying fresh foods, and others tend to lower their price so that their goods are already sold and they can go home.

It is really lucky if you have a backyard or an open area where you can make it a garden and plant foods in there because it can save you money, you can use it, it is fresh, and for sure it is safe as it is all organic and no pesticide was sprayed on it.

Over the past few years there has been a lot of discontent over the rise in food prices and in recent months low and middle income people are struggling to cope with the increase in the price of daily essential food products. Prices of rice and pulses are high and food inflation has increased due to increase in fuel and fertilizer prices as well as increased supply of several commodities in the global market. Climate change has also had a significant impact resulting in extreme droughts and unprecedented floods in Europe in recent months. Inflation will pick up again by the end of this year and may be around 5 percent in december and the price of processed food can reach the highest level.

What worries me more is what fast food are doing. They have increased the price of their menu and reduced quantity. I thought the increase price was supposed to compensate for the general rise of things but cutting down quantity and quality is a red flag. If people are ready to adjust to price hike, then we should have something flood enough to make the stomach satisfied, nothing good in spending money with out satisfaction.

With the way price of food has increased, people has forgone many alternative but I hope government can as well increased minimum wages, my country needs it because the wages and salary they pay is way below what can satisfy ordinary man.
The increase in fast food prices is also due to the increase in food ingredients, so this is very influential because it is impossible for companies not to make a profit there.
The increase in food supplies is almost the same throughout the world because it affects inflation, currency depreciation and also several other factors that cannot be avoided even for agricultural countries.
And increasing minimum wages and purchasing prices for farmers has an influence on the government of a country and it depends on the policy of a country to do so.

Increasing prices for goods and services is a completely normal phenomenon. More money is printed, which means its purchasing power falls, which is expressed in inflation. It’s time to get used to this in a world of money with endless emission.

Any problems in agriculture or food production will directly affect the increase in prices if it creates a shortage. Such is the market: less supply - more demand - higher prices.

In my country, prices have increased over the last month (increasing a little every month), as well as utilities (a noticeable increase over a long period of time)).

People will always complain about the current economy. It's unavoidable.

This is not the only case in your country. This is my answer, if it makes you feel better about your country's economy.

Here in our country, products are very expensive,  what used to be a kilo of chicken here was 3 dollars per kilo before, now it is 3.7 dollars in the market or grocery, and the price of vegetables has also increased. All consumers are price-sensitive. As time passes, the price of goods always goes up and never goes down. So it will be very difficult to survive if we don't find a way to find another way to earn money. There can't be only one source of income,  instead, we should have at least three sources of income so that we can somehow survive.
This condition of increasing prices of goods has also led to an increase in transportation costs in all aspects so that it is time for daily workers or laborers to ask their bosses for a salary increase. Because without an increase in salary for the work they do, it will be quite difficult for them to face the increase in prices of goods in life and besides that looking for another job is also not so easy now so everyone has to focus more on the amount of income from their main job even though looking for additional work too be the best option in current conditions.
I use to bethink of these high cost of goods and services as something that is residual only in my country and those of our neighbouring countries but reading comments of other members giving account of the state of price of goods and services in their own countries I now understand that it's a general economic crisis faced in all parts of the globe. Just that the severity of the conditions of things differs.

In my country we are not only battling with high costs of foodstuffs in the market but with insecurity razed by the insurgency emerging out of agitation for self-determination by some groups in the country  and with the increased in PMS months again ago it has compounded the situation severely that those that are still able to afford 3 square healthy meal a day are very few. And it got me wondering where the world is heading to  Huh

Currently, it is quite difficult moment to face several price increases for basic necessities ranging from food, education, even all household necessities have experienced quite drastic price increases. However, on the one hand, the income or salary we get has not increased at all and difficult situations have made us smarter in managing our finances so that they remain stable and sufficient to meet our daily needs. Its have been happened in my country last several months, we are facing difficult situation with one position have more expenditure than our income from working. Our government can't working well how to manage with food or rice keep in the stable price and they are not serious how to make their people earn much expenditure based on current economic condition.

Here in India, ever since the NDA government came to power food prices had remained under control. However, for the last few months the prices of vegetables have shot up. Tomato used to cost $0.30 to $0.50 per kg, but the prices suddenly went up to $2.50 per kg. The government response was very lax, and therefore the hoarders got opportunity to indulge in black-marketing. And it is not just tomato. The price of other vegetables, as well as that of other staples such as wheat flour, sunflower oil and sugar has also gone up.
I am a citizen of Bangladesh where food prices are increasing so much that it is becoming very difficult for middle class family members to eat three meals properly. On paper and in calculations the unemployment rate in this country is only 4.70% which does not seem very high. But here a person's monthly salary is $60-$600. a typical job earner earns only $60-$200 whereas a small household costs $200-$300+ a month to run. Beef is priced at $6.5 per kg, mutton at $7.8 per kg, and good rice prices are around $1+ per kg. It is very difficult to eat three meals properly with the income here
Such a situation prevails in most countries of the world. Food, gas, electricity are increasing at such a rate that they are now beyond the reach of people. The government is working hard to overcome these crises but the market is booming as the production rate is low and the consumer volume is high. Day by day the population is increasing in every country because the birth rate is higher than the death  rate.  And because of this, the land is slowly decreasing to provide housing for everyone, due to which the production is decreasing.  And the price of food products is constantly increasing

The same in my country, the poorest of the poor and as well as the middle class are having hard time dealing with the food prices now. At least for the middle class family, they're much better in state than of the poorest of the poor and a bit higher than of those.
Well, like your country, our country is a rice eating country and that's our staple food. But the problem lies with our food security so, the prices have gone higher and there's no solution yet that's being done but yet proposed and taken action like importing more rice and other food necessities. But I don't think that will eradicate the problem as there are a lot of hoarders and cartels that have been stocking rice. And the same with the salary of an average person coming from below minimum up to average, it's truly hard to budget that but we're great on this one which is a sad thing if we'll try to understand the situation.

Since August in my country, the price of food, especially food staples such as wheat, rice and others, has experienced a very high price increase. This was apparently caused by the ongoing drought.
But I was wondering if this only happened in my country or in your country too?
We are also experiencing similar scenario in my country too, though the high inflation rate could be attributed to increase in the price of Petroleum products eg petrol, Diesel and Gas following the removal of fuel subsidy by the new government consequently resulted to high cost of food stuffs especially the staple food such as rice, bread etc, manufacturers of food products are not left out because of high cost of production, in a related development with regard to the high cost of rice in my country was linked to insecurity in some farm after some farmers complained of kidnapping by some bandits who usually collect ransom before they are released thus prompted alot of them to quit farming.
I cannot believe that such a thing can actually happen. It seems like it was just possible in the movies or stories we tell our kids about bandits who collects ransoms and kidnaps farmers for money, however it really is happening in real life and is affecting our source of food as it obviously causes fear for farmers, so much so that they are willing to give their source of living.

Like your country, our country also has the same situation. The price has increased a lot. Prices of everything are sky high.Prices have increased very little in your country. If the price of chicken has increased from 3 dollars to 3.7 dollars, then your inflation is still low compared to our country. In our country, the value of the dollar has also become very high, and the value of our currency against the dollar is falling day by day.

The main reason for this is that there is instability in our country - our military is not allowing any political government to function, and it is trying to run its own decisions and systems, which has led to a lot of insecurity and misery in the country. The price of each product has increased three to four times compared to a few years ago. If something was worth $10, it is now worth more than $30. The prices of all the daily necessities have gone up so much that a common man is having a very difficult time. Electricity has become so expensive that people are paying the bills by selling household items. In these circumstances, it is very difficult to find another source of income, because the economic condition of the country is very bad.

You know it’s odd to see basic necessities if they have been decreasing their prices, surely their prices are bound to increase especially that inflation may be here for good. And food prices are certainly the most concern of the citizens today most particularly in my country where rice price has been extremely rising so bad. Good thing news came out lately that our head of the country has ordered a minimum price set for well-milled rice. Hopefully this will not be the last price adjustment for our food price.

In my country the price of everything is increasing just because of inflation, I mean it's a problem all over the world and a lot of countries cannot solve this problem. But this time it getting really noticeable to the point where my 500Pesos could not every a whole cart, I remember back in the day when 500 pesos worth of groceries was already too many and I could already use it to fit a whole cart, but now 500pesos worth of groceries is just 3-6items of groceries. If I get everything normally it would not cost around 3000Pesos worth of groceries. I mean it's a big problem for sure even the price of rice in my country is a big problem, it just continues to increase its price, and the export of rice is already increasing to the point where local farmers' rice is going to cost more than the import one. Which is a bad thing for the economy of my country.

In my opinion, these things are just inevitable and we cant really do anything about it what we can do is adjust that, What I think people really need here in multiple sources of income, I've realized the importance of having multiple sources of income and having that is wants going to make you successful.
Kabayan, it's really noticeable especially if you're the one who's doing the groceries. Like me, I'm always on a weekly budget for my groceries and the inflation is really hitting my pockets deeply because price has always been increasing. Usually, my family's groceries are just around 1500 pesos or typically $30 or so and that's already a lot before. But this time, truly a lot changed and those are just like a few items that you can count on. It's hard to deal with this inflation and we're hoping that our government will be able to do something to lessen the prices and still won't hurt the business sector just as the consumers.

Since August in my country, the price of food, especially food staples such as wheat, rice and others, has experienced a very high price increase. This was apparently caused by the ongoing drought. Which makes several areas of plantations and rice fields fail to harvest due to lack of availability of water to water the plants. And this makes food stocks in the market start to run low from time to time. And yes, the price hike ensued. Rice prices here have even increased by around 9-10 percent in the last month in my area. And I'm afraid the increase will continue. Because many residents are starting to talk that if the drought continues longer then it is feared that the increase will occur higher and faster. For farmers, it can be said that currently they are getting big profits because they can sell agricultural products at high prices. but for ordinary citizens who do not have agricultural land, the current food prices really make them tight.

The residents' economic sector has actually begun to recover and improve in the past few months. But because at this time there was another spike in prices again, it made the people around me start to complain again about the current economy.

But I was wondering if this only happened in my country or in your country too?

Commodity prices have increased in every country. Ours country is no exception.  In my country too, the price of everything, especially the price of food products, has increased a lot. And it has almost doubled. After the corona epidemic, the price of goods started to increase, then the war between Russia and Ukraine has increased the price of everything.
The increase of the price of food is as a result of many factors from longtime ago, it is just getting worse as the days goes by, the increase of the price of food is now a serious problem for low and middle class people. I think this increase in price of food started during the time if the pandemic and nothing was done then to stabilize the price and other economic problems after pandemic has also contributed to the price of food till this moment.  This is a serious problem that seems so difficult for the government to help about costly price of food .

And it has almost doubled. After the corona epidemic, the price of goods started to increase, then the war between Russia and Ukraine has increased the price of everything.  Depreciation of money is also one of the reasons. Again, the whole world is not going towards the Great Depression, is it?
Am I the only one perplexed by the impact of the Russia-Ukraine conflict on food prices in my country? Thus far, there hasn't been a significant price surge attributable to the conflict between these two nations.

While vegetable and spice prices have seen an increase, the logical explanation is an extended drought that has hindered farmers from achieving optimal yields. As for other animal-derived necessities like milk, eggs, and meat, they have remained relatively stable.

However, I've also been keeping an eye on global news, where in other countries, the prices of corn and legumes have skyrocketed, with the ongoing Russia-Ukraine conflict cited as the cause. Does this conflict only affect select nations?
