We are experiencing huge food inflation in my country Türkiye. There are many different reasons for including domestic issues. But Russia-Ukraine war also badly affected it as we were probably importing oil from Ukraine. Grain deal is also known by many people obviously. I think covid badly affected food prices because of lowered production in any sectors existing. I think global food prices are not getting anything worse anymore, its getting bit better. But anyways our population (all humankind) is too high in my opinion.

Since August in my country, the price of food, especially food staples such as wheat, rice and others, has experienced a very high price increase. This was apparently caused by the ongoing drought. Which makes several areas of plantations and rice fields fail to harvest due to lack of availability of water to water the plants. And this makes food stocks in the market start to run low from time to time. And yes, the price hike ensued. Rice prices here have even increased by around 9-10 percent in the last month in my area. And I'm afraid the increase will continue. Because many residents are starting to talk that if the drought continues longer then it is feared that the increase will occur higher and faster. For farmers, it can be said that currently they are getting big profits because they can sell agricultural products at high prices. but for ordinary citizens who do not have agricultural land, the current food prices really make them tight.

The residents' economic sector has actually begun to recover and improve in the past few months. But because at this time there was another spike in prices again, it made the people around me start to complain again about the current economy.

But I was wondering if this only happened in my country or in your country too?
I think this is the very basic aspect of CPI (Consumer price Index). And if you see the CPI as well of the almost every country it's too high. And moreover specifically if you see the food prices they have gone double or even triple in past 2-3 years, infact even seasonal fluctuations of vegetables prices is too much that is also not a very good sign.

yes it is also increasing here in the philippines. Honestly, it is very difficult to budget your money, especially when you know that there is not enough because the prices will increase so much.
I think the price of rice here increases almost every day, but you can't do anything because you're just an ordinary person whose salary is only at the minimum. But I somehow manage to survive every day, maybe because of the extra work, so I also save a little money somehow

In this day and age, I think you really need to work hard if you want to survive because I think the prices that have increased will not go down, but I hope not

Well, the main reason for that aside from inflation here in my country is that the Government is not supplying the rice we have that is locally harvested but they are getting rice internationally, maybe to get more profits from their citizens, you know, corrupt politicians are not new anymore.

Even the locally products we have here are being neglected, or should I say they are doing it on purpose to continue importing products for their own benefits and us to suffer to the price hike of every single products here in my country.

There's no hope anymore, we never learn I guess, we're always voting politicians that has bad records just because they promised something good during their campaigns. God bless us all.
Its situation happening in my country Indonesian right now, government stop importing rice from outside countries and we are facing with price suddenly pump around 10% last several days. Supply and demand is important thing when local harvested with small amount and close import from other country make us difficult with small supply but higher demand. Still not get conclusion current price of rice up suddenly and our government not try to open import or not trough rice keep in higher price almost last a week.

Corrupt politician have impact why rice stopping import and they will make whales with rice up suddenly until have decision to open import and make rice back to normal price.

Here in India, ever since the NDA government came to power food prices had remained under control. However, for the last few months the prices of vegetables have shot up. Tomato used to cost $0.30 to $0.50 per kg, but the prices suddenly went up to $2.50 per kg. The government response was very lax, and therefore the hoarders got opportunity to indulge in black-marketing. And it is not just tomato. The price of other vegetables, as well as that of other staples such as wheat flour, sunflower oil and sugar has also gone up.
Most of the food products are raw materials which rot if stored for a long time. and because of this, the price of food products rises every year.  And sometimes it escalates beyond our control.  Such incidents happen all over the world.  But in some countries it is more and in some countries it is less depending on the anti wastage system of that country. To deal with this, various managements of the government and vigilance of the food department of the government are required.  In my country too, the price of food products has increased a lot due to which it has become very difficult to run a family with our income. here tomato cost is $0.70-1$ per kg

The weather factor is of course the trigger for several countries experiencing drought, causing agricultural land to lack water sources.  In fact, the current summer is quite extreme in some tropical countries, especially since farmers are also having difficulty producing maximum harvests.  As a result, there were many crop failures which became the main trigger for the increase in most food ingredients

If all things were suppose to be the way we expect it, the government is suppose to play an important role in times of drought by providing adequate irrigation service. Large farms are suppose to be supported even when the small and rural farms will be too strenuous for government to deal with. Government know the big farms so I believe if they are sincere to feed the people time in and out of season then they should focus towards providing support for big farms at least that will go along way to help reduce hunger during drought season until the rain come back.

Sadly, yes, we also experience this in our country. It continually increases not only the food prices but also the other goods, transportation services, and other limited products such as fuel and gasoline. Inflation has a significant impact on us. It affects the prices of goods and food products. It is because the purchasing power of currency decreases, causing the general level of prices for goods and services to increase over time.

Inflation happens in a country due to a lot of factors, such as supply chain disruptions, rising global oil prices, increasing the cost of transportation and energy, which can lead to higher prices for goods and services, depreciation of the country's currency against other currency, and impact of government policies and actions. It is influenced by a complex set of factors, including both domestic and global economic conditions. Whereas in my country, this is the usual headline in the news, I no longer doubt why there is a sudden, gradual increase in food prices and services that I see and experience today.

The high cost of food, including other things in the market, is not being experienced in just one country; inflation is a global thing, but it is higher in some countries than other countries. Some countries economic systems are so bad that they get more inflated. Also, too much printing of money has contributed to the devaluation of currencies and reduced the purchasing power of the money, at that point, the price of goods increases and the money can only buy less of what it could before. In my country, the rate of inflation is far higher than it was last year, and not just food but even other things are so expensive. I just went to buy a new cell phone some days ago because I lost my phone recently, and there was a phone that last year was sold for about $400+ but now sells for almost $700. Everything is just very expensive in my country, even cooking gas and electricity bills.

In some areas where I live, because they are in rural areas, food prices are still quite stable because it is easy for us to find basic commodities, but in urban areas, since the start of the dry season or not, the prices of basic commodities are still expensive because they depend on supplies from the villages. In August, almost every region experiences a long dry season, quite a few agricultural lands fail to harvest as you experienced. Therefore, I always prepare for a long period of time to buy basic needs within a week or a month, this can avoid unexpected increases in raw material prices on the market. Even though in rural areas we still depend on fertilizers from factories because at this time apart from non-organic fertilizers, the use of organic fertilizers also needs to be balanced.

Location is important, and although I don't know much about people in rural areas or how they sell food items, I can speak for myself because I live in the state capital. Perhaps this explains why the cost of food is constantly rising. The economy is in such poor condition that even the politicians are finding it difficult to fix because of formal damages, and now they are making things worse on a daily basis. It now appears that whenever the get restocked, there prices are always going up. This may be because of the rise in the dollar and the constant increase in fuel prices. During dry season most of the harvest have been done and since its a continuous transaction process profit must be made. And during rainy season some part of rural areas are always affected by flood and it affect the whole production of food.

Rising prices of daily essentials now seems to be an international problem as the prices of daily necessities are rising unabated in every country of the world. Not only food prices are increasing but every commodity is increasing in price. The price of fuel oil or edible oil has almost doubled from what it used to be at a normal price. Not only the price of goods has increased, but also the government has increased the amount of VAT on every item, due to which common people have to think a lot and plan to buy any item now. The common man wants the world to be normal and the prices of essential commodities and the prices of fuel and edible oil to return to normal.

Exactly food prices are rising in my country as well, and things are really getting out of hand. People constantly complain about the rising costs of food, but nothing is being done to address the problem. Most people can no longer eat three meals a day because the cost of goods has been double by more than three times in the past two months. How will non-farmers and non-agricultural workers be able to afford this? But we must continue to work hard and pray. As long as we remain on this planet, we will continue to have daily issues that are different.

When will it end? I don’t think it will in the near future.

End? The cost of goods and services has never decreased in my experience; rather, it has only gone up. I am unable to envisage a time when this trend would come to an end. As long as prices continue to rise, we should continue to make money, is the strong wish.

God is great
food price have been rising ever since covid-19 hits, and it seems the inflation didn't even try to gets reduced meanwhile covid-19 already gone.
you just know what it means, it means that some people are having their best day of life getting that additional profits and they're not stopping.
this is the thing with many commodities, they always seek every opportunity to increase their price, even pandemic, then they just never go down or hardly go down.
thats why their price always increase every year and really high at that, i guess things will just get worse from here. the only way is to get more income.
Inflation is just the cause for the increments of food price in the market and the price is not coming down because the economy keeps going bad. In my region the price of petrol has been the reason why things are getting very expensive because petrol is the major means for transportation it is affecting the price of every product in the market. The world economy is serious struggling to become better but it still keeps on getting tough that is why the price of things will keep on skyrocketing.

This increase in price may be caused by a seasonal phenomenon and after some time everything will return to normal with the regulation of prices for such products.
It's great that you have price controls in India. In my country, everything rises in price several times a year. For everything without exception. The government just spat on its people a long time ago. They only worry about their own enrichment and their comfortable standard of living.
Indeed, the role of the government is very large in increasing food prices, in fact the government can do many ways to maintain price stability but they seem reluctant to do so and prefer to prioritize things that will benefit themselves. I see many governments of underdeveloped countries or developing countries that are indeed they don't really care about policies that benefit the common people and even exist in some agrarian countries but food prices continue to increase and farmers don't get big profits because all of this is played by the oligarchic government to make themselves and their groups richer, that is it's a very sad thing and in my country it's still like that.

In this case, it seems as if we can only remain silent without being able to do anything, perhaps criticizing the government and hoping that they are aware and care about the common people so that they make policies that benefit the small people (food price regulation) which is one of the ways we can do this. , the rest does not exist.

In my country, food prices are rising very fast. To be honest, the population is already accustomed to and is not surprised by the increase. It is noteworthy that now you can buy equipment that does not look expensive at current prices in comparison with the most necessary food products. Medicines have risen to cosmic prices. For many, it turns out that people are forced to choose either to eat right or to save money and spoil their health, the treatment of which is also expensive.

Sorry to hear about the whole drought issue causing some instability of food prices and the alike,  but am interested to know if you are affected by the oil prices too as this was what came to mind with the whole Russia- Ukraine war which has destabilized the oil/gas prices world over..and it's effects have a ripple effect to pretty much everything though we have adjusted and used to it by now.

For sure, all countries were affected by it because in my country it was the same, and what's worse is that the fare is getting expensive, and also everything gets expensive because, like food, it will be transferred from this location to another, which needs a vehicle, and that vehicle runs on gas, so the price goes up. Though past week's prices of oil came down in our country, this week it was already announced that they were increasing, so again we are back to higher prices.

I think we are from the same country, indeed prices are increasing and indeed because supplies in the market are running low but not because the goods are not there but because of the actions of speculators who hoard for their profit when prices rise higher they will sell them, maybe you still remember the case of vegetable oil where entrepreneurs and speculators create panic by making it rare to be on the market so that people start thinking about buying in large quantities because they are worried that it will be increasingly difficult to get it.

For farmers, it can be said that currently they are getting big profits because they can sell agricultural products at high prices. but for ordinary citizens who do not have agricultural land, the current food prices really make them tight.

This is not entirely true, farmers are actually increasingly disadvantaged due to this extreme climate change because they cannot start farming because of drought, and crop failure makes them lose income, and if they can harvest then those who buy their agricultural products benefit, namely entrepreneurs, not farmers. The fate of farmers in our country is quite unfortunate because the government cannot fully protect them.

The residents' economic sector has actually begun to recover and improve in the past few months. But because at this time there was another spike in prices again, it made the people around me start to complain again about the current economy.

But I was wondering if this only happened in my country or in your country too?
I think all countries are experiencing the same thing because extreme weather and causing difficulties in agriculture and so on are experienced all over the world.
