OK I'll bite.  What's the significance Vlad?

Just speculating.  If sidechains are gonna come on strong then these old blockchains have a good chance for at least niche markets.  I can see iZero being used as a zero fee coin or something along those lines.  For a penny per coin I think the risk/reward is unreal.

Why do you guys still post in such an old thread of an ancient coin project?

There are not even any nodes left for this right now Shocked

Comments like this always amaze me.  If old is bad then Bitcoin must be the worst of them all.

There are plenty of nodes.  I0coin continues to have a hash rate in the top 5% of all altcoins.
It has an established history. Isn't stability a good thing?  With the recent client release it's also up to date with Bitcoin.

I guess some people just prefer the stream of fly by night, over-pumped, altcoins which are dead in 12 months.

If this technology is ever going to go mainstream it's NOT going get there by the short term projects.
We need coins like I0coin which have some stability.

Although a representative from Blockstream claimed it was too early to comment on the drivechain idea, Maxwell did state that he is looking forward to a possible zerocash sidechain and other innovations. A non-Bitcoin version of zerocash, Zcash, is expected to be released this summer.

Vlad, you never told us where you were going with this information.  How does it apply to i0coin?

I'd like to update the website with links to I0coin version 0.12.0.  Last chance if you want to provide any feedback on this version.  So far everything I've heard implies it's a solid release.

I0coin 0.12.0 Windows Executables

domob has finished the I0coin 0.12.0 client update.  Below are the links.  Before I post it on the website I'd ask that several community members, including miners, give it a try and report any issues.

Snailbrain just finished compiling 0.12 for Windows:

https://extra.domob.eu/i0coin-0.12.0.zip
https://extra.domob.eu/i0coin-0.12.0.zip.sig

The source is available from the "i0coin-0.12.0" tag (also signed by me):

https://github.com/domob1812/i0coin/releases/tag/i0coin-0.12.0

The following link shows the changes in I0coin 0.12.0 (which is based on Bitcoin 0.12.0).

https://bitcoin.org/en/release/v0.12.0

There are no hard or soft forks between I0coin 0.11.9 and 0.12.0.  So miners should be able to upgrade to 0.12.0 without issues.

If someone can recommend a faucet I'll try to get I0coin added.

This is a really good faucet,  cryptospout.com
He seems like a good guy and is always improving the faucet. Hopefully he will add 10coin.
BTW, Thanks!!! Smiley

Looks like cryptospout isn't going to happen any time soon.  They require that I0coin be traded on Poloniex before listing a faucet.

Are there any other ideas for a faucet site?

Still looking for suggestions on a new faucet site for I0coin.  Let me know if you find a good one.

I0coin miners are using 0.11.9, not 0.12.0 but it's still early and they are both essentially the same as far as mining goes.  So I'm not too worried about it.

So they updated to 0.11.9.  That's good news!  Thx!

Question:  Have the miners updated their nodes to the latest software? Thx.

Difficulty has increased in the last few weeks from  1,400,000 to 3,690,000, about a 160% increase.

Let's keep the trend going.
