It's good to see that England are able to qualify for the Super 8s and in the end it is only the Pakistan team (among the big teams) who fail to make it to the next stage. How sad it is for them.
I think you are forgetting about New Zealand and Sri Lanka. Both these teams were the favourites to qualify for the Super 8, but their journey ended early like Pakistan.
Pakistan's Captain and team management made a lot of mistakes that lead them to this situation. The player selection was also questionable. There was must for the Pakistan team, especially for the captain Bababr Azam must have to give overs to Shadab Khan because if we gave him overs early then he can understand about his condition or form anything would you like to say, but If we will not check it then I think it could be problem for the upcoming matches because it is not important that in all matches, Imad Wasim will perform. So in this case condition, they must have to bring him and check his form. Also, from the last match which was played against Canada, we have seen that he was just doing fielding in the whole match and nothing else.
I think Pakistan's selection committee should be answerable. They did not have any criteria for player selection. Pakistan's middle order hasn't clicked throughout the tournament. Babar should resign from the captaincy and focus on his batting. Shadab was out of form and he was played as a batsman. In pursuit of becoming an allrounder, the guy lost his bowling charm. Pakistan should search for solid middle-order batters.
I completely agree with your points. The lack of transparency in Pakistan's selection process is concerning. The committee didn't have a clear strategy or criteria for player selection.
Babar Azam is undoubtedly a world-class batsman, but his captaincy has been questioned. He didn't focus on his own batting line and bowling line. He should care about his own career. Also, Pakistan needs to find strong middle-order batsmen like Mohammad Yousuf, Ajaj Ahamed, Enjamamul Haque, etc.
