I agree with you about this all and surely also having few teams as strong candidate for the last four, but we need to understand these Indian conditions are never been easy for the teams like South Africa and England with I have two teams into last four and for other two we will have tough competition like England, New Zealand, South Africa and Pakistan all are having equal chance and any team on his day can turn for the spot into last four.

New Zealand and South Africa recently have good success which is good for them and England are also doing good and capable of giving their best for the spot Pakistan is always an unpredictable side which can't be out of the race until last ball as we all know about their nature and history in this competition.

For the semis, I'd go with the usual suspects because it's freaking 10 teams tournaments. Quite a hilarious and pathetic scene at the same time.

India + Australia + England are fixed as these teams usually cover their all departments. Be it bowling, batting or fielding. Aussies are a bit short in the spin department tho.

Then we have to bet on 4th semi finalist. Traditional wisdom says New Zealand and Pakistan but this time South Africa is looking alright too.

Actually it is not possible to think any advance about the Pakistan team because Pakistan was considered as the most favorite team in this year's Asia Cup but in the end Pakistan could not play the final but got knocked out from the final after losing to Sri Lanka. However, in this year's ICC ODI World Cup, England and Australia are considered as the favorite teams and they are likely to play in the semi-finals and final. However, South Africa and India are also likely to make it to the semi-finals. However, the rest of the teams, especially Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Afghanistan and the Netherlands, have no chance of playing in the semi-finals, but all these teams can cause any untoward incident with the favorite teams. For example, the shock of Bangladesh defeating India in this year's Asia Cup is one such example.

Pakistani bowling is really confusing. Either they work and makes the team win or don't work and feels like an associate team bowling. Spin has been historically a less proritized genre in Pakistani cricket and they still lack them.
Pakistan certainly have one of the balanced team with excellent individual players. I had a high hope over the Pakistani team after years prior to the Asian cup but their loss with India and Sri Lanka showed they lack the consistency.

Australia vs Netherlands batting in this match, Australia collected 166 runs in 23 overs. I have been watching the Netherlands vs Australia match since the beginning and I have liked Netherlands' bowling since the beginning. They have been able to hold back a team like Australia. Where at the moment Australia's runs would have been close to 180 to 200, Australia managed to score only 152 runs for 6 wickets. The 6 batsmen who got out were not out because of any bad ball but because of the great bowling of the Netherlands bowlers.
Australia is very old in cricket and winning is their anthem so I would like Netherlands to win this match as they qualify for ODI World Cup for the first time.

Australia managed to collect 166 runs in 23 overs, i am actually not worried that Australia have given a target of 167 runs. I am worried because Australia lost 7 wickets to collect 166 runs. It is difficult for Australian batsmen to stay at the crease against a team like Netherlands. So how can they win against big teams like England or India and become world champions!! Australia's chances of qualifying for the finals in this year's World Cup seem very low to me.

I agree with you and I really like your post. I am a pure Bangladeshi so I definitely want the Bangladesh team under the leadership of Shakib to play very well in the upcoming World Cup. Bangladesh beat Sri Lanka by 7 wickets in the preparation match of Bangladesh with Sri Lanka. This victory is very positive for Bangladesh. Even though it was a warm-up match, I would say that Bangladesh team played well, so if they can play with confidence, if every player of Bangladesh can play well, they will definitely do well in the World Cup. I was looking forward to watching India vs England warm up match. But the match was abandoned due to rain.
