ICOs is not a good idea at the current situation also most of previous icos failed .

ICOs can be a very good investment specially if it turns out to be very successful and can still be profitable even if it does not reach its goal specially when it is a legit ICO but there are also ICOs that turns out to be fake to take money from its investors so I suggest you do background checks and be very careful in joining one, most ICOs can be easily validated here in bitcoin talk just check its thread and how people supports it then I think you are good to go.
ICO'S are profitable venture for investors, there are a lot of popular crypto currency's that started in ICO. But you need to do a good research if the project is real and the roadmap is indeed attainable. Always be careful of scams.

In my opinion, instead of investing in ICO, it is always best to research the coin you desire and buy it only when you feel like it is authentic and there is no scam. you can also earn alt coin by bounty program its easy ad safe
