Buy later on exchange. With the way scam ICOs are launching, one should stay very far away from the ICO mania. Its all good and glory until you lose your hard earned money.

It depends on the ICO and not all the ICO are pump and dump group. There are some which started in $0.020 and while in listing it went upto $0.080. Buying ICO is your choice on when to buy but watch the company profile, team and the road map before doing so. Always go with data instead of relying on speculation, if all the data is perfect then the ICO would definitely a success.

I think you better divide your fund into half because if you invest the half of the amount into ICO you will get some bonus, rest of the amount you can buy them in the market in order to average the previous buys.

why divide your funds if you can always buy them at single purchase? much better f we can buy them at their pre ico or earlier stage because we can get a lot of bonus if we manage to purchase as early as posible. however there is also a risk of scam and what if their coin wont hit on an online exchange? we cannot sell them if this scenario happens. that is why waiting is also a good idea to ensure your safety.

I prefer to buy at exchange at the beginning of listing and price below ico, and I will save 2-3 months ahead,
At that time I hope the price will go up and im get profit.

How often does the price get lower than the ICO price when a new coin is listed on its first exchange house ?

How come there are coins that are worth like 0.0004 $, usually during an ICO one coin is sold in the range of 1$ or not ?

Do some "coins" skip the ICO stage ?

I had several times to buy ico coins but after entering the market the price fell even below the ico price.
I try to hold until 2-3 months but still no increase. since then I decided to no longer buy ico coins.

I always participate in the ico. In the current situation it is more profitable to buy after listing on the exchanges. I am sure that when the market recovers, everything will change again.

Sometimes it is better to wait for an exchange... Because the most coins are getting hammered below ICO price as soon as they are tradable on an exchange... I try to buy the overhyped ICOs on an exchange. I only participate in ICOs which are under the radar.

Many people have suffered losses by investing in ICO and I am one of them. I wouldn't make the same mistake again. I would like to buy on exchanges. Most of the time when the coins listed on exchanges their prices are a lot cheaper than the ICO price.

#1 ICO
If you can research and read whitepaper, technology paper, so on...
#2 Buy later on Exchange
This way is safer, for newbie I think you should make a great ICOs list then waiting for it on exchange, then we can buy when price down.
Cheesy

Joining in ICO is much risky with higher reward, many ICO coins will be lower than the ICO price and many may not be able to get listed on big exchanges, so I think it is better to buy some new coins on big exchanges.

It's really cheaper investing and buying on ICOs, preferably that's just the way to go. Even with it's reasonably
low prices, it's still a risk and no guarantee of that coins success. That is why there is always a need to study
and read whitepapers, to ensure and have a better judgment on which ICOs stand a better chance to succeed.
I also believe that once that coin gets listed after ICOs and ITOs, there's a high probability that it doesn't fully
lift up immediately sometimes it takes about 3 to 5 months after, they are good for holding. Invest on the ones
that are solidly well teamed and sufficiently organized projects with smart services offered.

I prefer to buy at ico or pre ico if i can because i can get cheaper coin and lots of bonus instead of buying from exchange where the price already increase several times. Of the project is good and there's a lot of demand, the price will be higher on exchange, the one that has lower price are the icos who collect too much money or not enough demand for the token.

I think, there is not any easy way to make a wise choice for that. Any influence of the crypto market such as ETH or btc also affects the choice to buy tokens in the form of ico or later. Usually I try to capture to buy private token or pre-sale token. That would be beneficial and highly effective.

If somebody is good in identifying the future of coin then better to buy at the ICO stage as you will get bonus as well. And once it gets listed due to better utility of the coin in future demand will increase and so will price. So you will have an added advantage and a better return can be expected from it..

That's right buy coins when ICO we will get double profit or bonus, they give us bonus if buy ICO when they need investors, and more profitable if we also participate in their ICO project, but we must be good at choosing ICO project due to now have a lot of scam ICO's there, see their team behind, roadmap, their experience and etc.

ICO is like a bet .... sometime you win sometime you lose ...

It's wrong to think about ICO as about a bet - if you do so, you are much likely to lose it all. Try analysing the tokens you buy and do some research about the project first.

What about the topic, now I see that a lot of tokens go red right after the end of their ICO (no surprise, bearish market + bountists who sell first) but then the price rises. So you can try to buy the tokens in the first day when they reach exchanges after the ICO, though I don't think the price will be lower then during the early ICO stages with all their bonuses, etc.

I agree with you, ICO is a big risk. But big money is always associated with greater risks. I think that participation in ICO is more profitable.
