Normally buying coins during their ICO stage is much more profitable because they are very cheap in ICO stage and it has some extra beneficials like bonus coins. On the other hand investing in ICO is a little risky because it may not succed and you could end up putting your money in a dead project so it's sometimes better to wait untill a coin hits exchange before buying it. You may buy it little more expensive that way but you can be sure coin will have bright future.

Lately I have a big hype in ICO. ICO investments make a lot of sense if there is no problem doing KYC.

If do not have KYC in ICO investment, it is better to stay away from it.
It is a HYPE or Ponzy. but I see a few project of ICO is needed KYC. I think this is a good enough to join than buy later at exchange

Joining ICO would be better provided you join a good ICO. Price goes up to x10 when the coin goes into trading. You can sell at profit then rebuy some when it price goes back down. Withdraw capital and some profit then hold some coins too. If you want to trade I prefer buying low priced coins and just wait for it to pump.

There are coins that are skipping the stage of ICO and for those investors that are investing only when that coin is listed on exchange but they held an ICO, pre-sale / public / private sale then you are missing big bonuses. Percentage bonus is a big thing for investors who mostly doesn't have enough with his total crypto money. For example, VLB is having now it's public pre-sale and you'll get 30% bonus if you'll invest until March 12 and after that date bonus will go down until its gone.

How often does the price get lower than the ICO price when a new coin is listed on its first exchange house ?

How come there are coins that are worth like 0.0004 $, usually during an ICO one coin is sold in the range of 1$ or not ?

Do some "coins" skip the ICO stage ?

In my opinion, it is better to make your own research and trust your guts.

The most of the privacy coins are undervalued right now.

The best opportunity is to find a privacy-related project with a low total supply (less than 100M), that way the price will be increasing much faster.

I recently found one project called Ethereum Meta, it is related to anonymity and untraceable transaction. They have a very interesting project to build the Anonymous E-Market Place.

They are on Pre-ICO stage right now, you can check their website: https://ethermeta.com/
Or even better go through their Bitcointalk thread: https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/future-of-privacy-ethereum-meta-foundation-of-anonymous-e-marketplace-2659058

percentage of scummy ICOs is pretty high nowadays so I would not recommend to buy on ICO stage unless you've learned a lot about the project and you are confident about your investment.
If so, you have good chances to earn some extra cash Cool
There's a lot of scam projects right now but unless if you can find one that promising ico and that gives you a lot of profit just in some days after it being listed and traded by so many people.

The price movement after an ICO really depends on the project, this is why you shouldn't simply invest in every ICO but research them in depth and see if the team can deliver.
Not sure about that because the fact the development progress doesn't give any impact when crypto at bearish trend. Remember there are some projects are giving big update when we were at the bearish but that doesn't give anything to the chart of the coin itself.

you must be patient. Because there are many people who join into the bounty campaign sell their tokens immediately when receive tokens. this leads to the price falls down. So, you should wait for few months to get much profit

What are the reasons for investors to buy in an ICO if prices often drop after the completion of the ICO?

I wonder the same.  Thanks for asking

If the project is very hyped but the idea is not good just wait for exchange. If the idea is good and the team can deliver it - hop on the ICO train, guaranteed good gains!

In my experience, many ICO coins can be found cheaper on the exchange after release. My plan now is to wait until people dump, and then pick the coins up
But if after the ICO the coin goes to the stock exchange and costs there even cheaper, then something has undermined the credibility of this coin!Is it worth investing money in such a purchase?!

Due to increased competition and an endless stream of potentially tempting ICOs, crypto-investment in 2018 will be even more risky than ever.

I find it unnecessary to buy during ico period. ico 's no longer making money. bounty campaign was made, there is a big drop in prices after the campaign.
I prefer to buy on exchange later, you can make more profit with this way Smiley

If an ico offers large bonuses over 30-40% for presale investors it usually dumps below ico price when it hits exchanges because of all the sell pressure. I usually don't touch icos that offer huge bonuses. There are icos that get all their funding during presale and cancel their public sale.

by my personal experience
calculate the pricing since nostage to ICO (mostly it is mentioned if not it is a hunch)
also, do match the pricing with famous coins
fake/scams will copy everything including the white paper (mostly).
you will get an idea

if it is greater than 1x~2x profit, consider the project and its competitors
if not then follow its general discussions on forums
if the competitors are currently giants I reduce my investment to half (just in case)
if not then no change in amount
if no competitors increase the amount of investment by 50% or 100%

Either way, patience is the key
I invested $1000 BDG before ico and it paid out well

(btw, i also invested in tron and got stuck Grin)

Always remember,
with greater risk comes bigger profit
