Most IPOs are either a scam or have very little chance of success.. with that said, there are some really great projects when you look below the surface.  As always, know what you're investing in.. understanding the technology as much as you can, competitors, the team, the market.  Same way you'd evaluate a "traditional" investment.

Hi Guys,

Im pretty keen to understand more about ICOs and intend to invest in some.
ANY recommended ICOs and any advise how you guys determine whether is it a legit or Scam?

Thanks in advance.
There are legit ICOs and again there are scams. You will just need to remove the bad ones from the good ones. You will need to use your own knowledge. Just reading the white paper does not mean you will be able to judge which one is legit and which one is scam. You will need to see their team. Most of the legit ICOs have well known developers. They will also have a working platform and keeps users up to date all times.
Some our good on analyzing the ICO, we should be careful on what ICO were going to invest, to play it safe bwttee invest on ICO that already succeeded in reaching even their soft cap or min cap.

Some ICOs are scam but there are still legit ICOs. Every ICO have it's own whitepaper, there you can learn if the project will be successful. Check the roadmap if it's doable. Research about the project team, see if the people behind the project are credible and trustful. Lesson here is do your research first before investing in an ICO project.
Yeah to avoid ico scam of course you have to do research first on every ico that you want. research can contain many things. for example try to see their roadmap, the idea of their project. but I'm quite confused how we know that their have trustfully team ?

From all the previous post, successful ICO's depends on team, marketing, whitepaper roadmap. I think we need to understand if the project is legit or not. The problem they tend to solve, how they do it, how it changes the industry etc.

I think its better to show proof of concept or show an MVP product which generates investors interest. Investment decision comes later. First you need to do something.

Long ago I used to work on projects from overseas. When I used to bid on projects I used to develop the basic requirement and demo it to the client. (80% Success rate). Every one want to bid but no one wants to prove you can deliver.

Most ico these days are not legit but we still have some that really have a roadmap and are ready to develop the coin or token after the ico.  Apparently now it isn't legit in China.
despite the fact that China's country forbids ico but the cobinhood project that is domiciled in China is even successful crowdsale 29k ethereum, a remarkable achievement.

There are plenty ICO's that have legit teams and goals however there are also scams ICO's--like how there's a two sides of everything. We just have to do our due diligence and take extra measures since were investing money. And also as the saying goes: Invest only what you can afford to lose.

More ICO's are scams .But , there are lots  of legit ICOs out there too. You just need to be very careful about which ones you choose to invest in. Do a lot of research to buy in terms of the whitepaper, road-map, etc and then decide.

ICOs are caveat emptor - they are similar to IPOs - this question shows a serious lack of understanding and research on your behalf.. That is like asking - ARE IPOS SCAMS?

Based on my experience. We just see the ICO TEAM arrangement, there must be some experienced people who have been successful on ICO before. see also the bounty manager, everywhere the ICO is successful under his rule.
I see every ico who comes in the market always has different teams. i never found ico team ever successful in they ico before and then made ico again with the same team? is it you can give example where ico that have same team, that the team is already successful before ?

I think it will depend on you,all ico's required to have the security and its in you if you believe that it is legit or scam. But now for some reasons we cannot avoid that happen, because other people want is for their own benefits only and they did not think what are they doing,so I conclude that these scams are not preventable if we ourselves will be ready and wise, some are legit or most are legit and some are scams.

No one gives a guarantee on ICO because out 10 more than 3 projects get into the scam because most of the dev become greedy when they got enough money. Many other Dev will work until their desired product is released.
then before buying ico it will be required to see the existing team on their ico project, make sure that they have a competent team in the field of ideas offered by them, and also the most important that the team is trusted, there are many who need to check before choose ico so you will be spared from ico scam
First, you must check the community of the token you want to invest, because the source of success is depends on the investors (the buyer community). I think only this thing is enough to know an ICO legit or scam haha.
