If bitcoin died tomorrow then it is time for me to focus on my work now.Bitcoins help me to get extra income. If bitcoins die then ill dont get extra income and itis not a big lost to me.I would probably mpve to another potential altcoin if that would happen
This is probably the way to go if that happen. Move to other activities. It would be a great tragedy, but it would not be the end of the world. With regard to altcoins, I think they would also be affected negatively, but it is possible that some of them would survive in the market.

Are you killing us, bitcoiners in one day with bitcoin? If that happens, than there isn't only question what we'll do, it will be a terrible day for btc exchange and mining companies. It will cause panic in people and on this forum, full financial lost for many companies and also altcoins will dead with bitcoin and it's reason will be that people won't trust in cryptocurrency anymore.

if bitcoin died i will start trade with other coin but sometime i do not think that bitcoin will be died because bitcoin is too much stronger currency and get more power and more popularity and adoption of bitcoin is increasing too much faster day by day so bitcoin will be never died.

It is impossible for it to reach 0$ so fast , getting rid of bitcoin is not gona be that easy , even if every country in the world banned bitcoin it is still gona be there sure the price will go down which in that case people will panic and start selling it , but it will never go between a day and night it is not that simple
there is no guarantee that bitcoin will always have high prices, even the high price does not guarantee the survival of a coin, because bitcoin could die anytime. but, I also believe that the price of bitcoin will not be $ 0 or disappear quickly or suddenly, there must be a process, and the cause of it. I can not imagine if bitcoin die, because today has a lot of people whose lives depend on the bitcoin

Well if bitcoin died tomorrow I think just the whales or the holders of of alot of bitcoins (5btc or more) will be affected.
The ones who trade and just earn alittle from it won't be so torn up.
There will be something else on the horizon to replace it anyways. Grin

That's the thing many folks fail to understand

If there is something else on the horizon to replace Bitcoin (and there is always something on the horizon), you should already be using it, along with Bitcoin. And not for the notorious diversification ("never put all your eggs in one basket" or similar crap) with the purpose of minimizing your risks (I'm with Warren Buffett on this who basically says that diversification is for losers), but for the purpose of maximizing your trading opportunities and profit potential

It's pretty much like a domino game. If it died tomorrow, would you trust any altcoin? You wouldn't, many people would not do that either.  Bitcoin's fall = cryptocurrencies' fall because Bitcoin's like their mother. If US would fail, wouldn't pretty much the whole world fail too? If Euro/USD would fail, wouldn't all the others fail too? Same goes with Bitcoin too.
You have a point and you are correct it will really affect all altcoin if bitcoin will die tomorrow and people will surely lost its trust on all cryptocurrencies because on what happen to bitcoin but for now i dont think so that it will die easily as long people will use it then it will become stronger day by day and adoption cant be stopped .
It depends on why bitcoin dies in this scenario and the speed of the death if it was a knock out blow that destroyed bitcoin then we can be sure most other altcoins will probably dies as well, but if it was that easy to do then bitcoin will not be here like many other payment systems on the Internet, like liberty reserve or egold.

redevelop a bitcoin-like currency to heir what bitcoin had ever made for good, so the new currency would setup a meseum about early days of bitcoins. Tongue

That will be a nice idea, to recreate a new coin very similar or a new version of bitcoin of ever bitcoin has gone and I think it will not be so hard for that new coin to be the same as bitcoin because i think many people will also start to use it but it may start to the lower price again .

It is not sensible to say that bitcoin will die in a day not even in the future because bitcoin is a very stronger currency supported by a large group of people and if something bad has occurred then no one will then trust and rely on any other coin because if such a stronger coin is damaged then no one can give guarantee to any other coin.

I also agree there a point in saying Bitcoin represents all cryptocurrencies and so whatsoever especially odd that happens to it would definitely water down to all other coins. In the case of Bitcoin dying tomorrow, it would take almost everything to be able to bring that to pass and if ever, an offspring of Bitcoin, more sophisticated is sure to arise to occupy that position.

One question that must be asked though is, what is going to kill Bitcoin, many governments have tried futile and now looking for ways to bend blockchain technology, which is the strength of Bitcoin, to see things their crooked ways.

It would not affect me at all becuase i spend my bitcoins on a daily basis .and what the use of bitcoins if u dont use it all.well bitcoins is a game changer for me and it helps me to earn money on a daily to daily basis which is not bad at all  .i hope everyone has access to bitcoins and able to earn them so that no one is affected by poverty at all.

To earn more money? Or maybe people are just saving up their money for their future. There are plans that need a huge budget before you can even start and people would've to work for a long time before they can do so. Not everyone's always spending their money because most of us need money that are dedicated for emergency expenses (i.e. hospital bill).

The fall of bitcoin wouldn't affect you if you have no more bitcoins left, but if it happened that you still have some bitcoins unspent in your wallet, then you surely will be affected too.
in india nobody here in kolkata here has not been heard about bitcoins .wel people dont even have bank accounts .how can u expect it will son trise that everywhere there are gonna be using bitcoins .i dont think people are gonna pay it with bitcoins .it will take minimmum 30 years to start even in here . so for me its helpful to sell the bitcoins in the month

The only way that Bitcoin could actually die would be if nobody was willing to operate the mining infrastructure. Given that 306 quadrillion double-SHA256 hashing operations per second are currently being invested into the mining infrastructure, I would say that the death of Bitcoin is a long, long way off.

I'm afraid that can be of little help if Bitcoin is going to kick the bucket. Even if a lot of people invested a huge pile of money into something, that is not yet a guarantee of success. You implicitly assume that so many people cannot be wrong, but, on the other hand, ten billion flies cannot be wrong either. Every year top pharmaceutical corporations invest billions of dollars into medical research and devolvement of new drugs, but only few new drugs succeed eventually and are brought to the market...

In this way, the sheer amount of money invested doesn't predetermine the success of some endeavor
