I think most of altcoins will die if Bitcoin will die because this is the basis and foundation of altcoins. If we have altcoins we convert it to bitcoin because we can store and save it. On the other hand, some of altcoins can stand alone because they are big enough and successful enough, but not powerful as bitcoin is now. But withput bitcoin, those other altcoins will not be significant as before.

In my opinion, bitcoin will never die, when the bitcoin circulation in the world runs out, bitcoin prices will get higher and more people are looking for it.
For an unattractive altcoin, and the price drops, then its existence will either die or automatically disappear.
Then if the bitcoin dies, altcoin is not necessarily dead, because i think the existence of crypto or altcoin that has been widely circulated, its future is determined by the number of users and enthusiasts.

Bitcoin is a very popular crypto coin today, we know that Bitcoin will be very expensive in the future but I imagine if Bitcoin die, whether there will be hope for the future of altcoin? because most altcoin exchanges are to bitcoins
your opinion is highly appreciated. Smiley
It will not affect each other.
Although bitcoin is the first crypto that existed before other altcoins appeared, but some other altcoins like Etherum, Ripple, Litecoin, etc. are some altcoins that already have popular name and trust for investment, in addition they also have a community that supports the development of them coins .
Quite agree though, all those altcoins always trying to overtake bitcoin position so if bitcoin just gone, the #1 will be replaced not that the entire cryptocurrencies will be gone just because 1 coin died.
After that, the cryptocurrencies world will evolve and making the new #1 coin as a base for conversion.

Bitcoin can hardly die now because its support communities is very many, more investors still use bitcoin as their main income, so if bitcoin die, the commnunities will have to change their invesments into altcoins, however i think the shock after bitcoin die will very huge altcoins will drop too that will take a very long time for altcoins to rise again.

I think altcoin have big relation with altcoin since we know bitcoin is mother of altcoin.
But if bitcoin die, we can still work with usd or euro or maybe other coin like etherium that we can use as conversion.

There is a possibility to happen since we can say bitcoin takes up the largest part on cryptocurrency. Bitcoin seems a foundation of a house and altcoins are the other parts, if the foundation of a house fall down then the other parts will also fall.

But there is another possibility might happen if bitcoin died, this is the uprising of a new altcoin that will replace btc. Due to btc's death, everyone will jump into other cryptocurrency and start all over again and I guess the coin who will take the lead is Eth since it is in the second spot right now.

it seems that if bitcoin is destroyed altcoin will be competing to be a good digital currency, because bitcoin is a good digital currency and altcoin follow the path of bitcoin, possibly that will happen in altcoin like that.

If bitcoin dies which is quite impossible for now, altcoins won't die. Some altcoins will progress further unless some sort of policies from the government give them restrictions. Anyway, as for me, bitcoin won't die. It is already the father of altcoins.

Yeah, I agree. Bitcoin rose to 7800 but then sank and is holding at 7300 but litecoin, dash and etherum are having a bit of a renaissance. Pretty interesting stuff. If you want to play around with it, I would get the exodus wallet and use shapeshifter to get in on some of the currencies. I like to wait to see where the high and low is try to aim for a 30% level of the high before buying. If it goes up a lot then I convert it back to bitcoin.

Hmm, I don't think so. Even if bitcoin is the base currency of the crypto world, other cryptocurrencies are not necessary depending on it. Unlike in the case of the coins under ETH contract, if the Ethereum platform goes down then are going to go down as well.

That's the beauty of cryptocurrencies. They are not under another coin (except for the ones that are under ETH/Waves) and they don't depend on each other. If one coin dies, other coins are not affected at all except if they have some connection. But if Bitcoin dies, that doesn't necessarily takes down other coins.

There are different reasons as to why bitcoin might die. First, bitcoin might die because altcoins are becoming really good and they started to take over. Second, bitcoin might die just because it destroyed itself. Another, bitcoin might die because a new technology is taking over the internet. That means that cryptocurrencies as a whole are dying and so both bitcoins and altcoins are going to die.

Depending on the situation, if the bitcoin is lost due to deficit it may be there is an altcoin to replaced it, but if is lost due to legality it might also affected the altcoin.

No. They have nothing to do with each other. Bitcoin is just the first "altcoin" there was. Also note that all coins can co-exist without each other.

Agree, Bitcoin is just the first coin of the other Altcoin so it has nothing to do with the death of Bitcoin with another Altcoin Wink

Now, cryptocurrency conditions are not what they used to be. Already many peoples understand the system blockhain or similar with it. If bitcoin dies, altcoin will proceed to replace bitcoin.

To my view when we hear about cryptocurrency the tone of Bitcoin stands first so it had such precious role,  however the moment when bitcoin dies the users of altcoin do withdraw their bulk capitals to the safe place reason why the bitcoin is the first key popularity for other crypto currencies like alt coin so the demand for alt had a greater fall when bit dies. Few alts are even dependedent on bitcoin, the key factor here is if the capital investment fund is available then dividends will be shared to users if capital is falling down the owners turn themselves to scam to my estimation.

If bitcoin dies I think altcoins will get affected but it depends with what kind of reason why bitcoin died. Bitcoin and altcoins has domino effect and we should expect that to happen. But I think bitcoin won't just die investors will not allow that to happen.

I highly doubt. It seems to be in favor for altcoins if ever bitcoin will die because the demand that bitcoin is having would probably go to altcoins because investors will look for another coin for them to get huge profit. And since there'll be no other choice, it will be altcoin for sure. So I think it will be their chance and won't be a disadvantage if this thing would happen.
