Bitcoin is a very popular crypto coin today, we know that Bitcoin will be very expensive in the future but I imagine if Bitcoin die, whether there will be hope for the future of altcoin? because most altcoin exchanges are to bitcoins
your opinion is highly appreciated. Smiley

I guess, if bitcoin will fail or die it won't really affect altcoin. But if it is reasonable that it just lose as the same manner the altcoin could, it is possible. It is still depending on the possible cause and how could it really affect the cryptocurrencies. Altcoins are like under bitcoin currencies so they are either joined or separated.
But i am sure that if bitcoin will die, it will surely effect all altcoin. Bitcoin is the main crypto currency and all the other altcoin are created after the idea of bitcoin emergence, therefore we can expect that if bitcoin will not survive i do not think that there can any good future about any altcoin.

Not necessarily. But the things is if BTC dies then altcoins can't be called 'altcoins' anymore. So I guess the term 'altcoins' will die with bitcoin, but the individual cryptos won't necessarily die with it. And anyways thus is just hypothetical, BTC will never really die it will continue to be used in one form or another.
Thats right, i'm very agree with you sir

If bitcoin died most altcoins will die too, my prediction is that more than 90% of altcoins will die if that happen, so only the most resistant altcoins will exists in that scenario but even those coins will lose most of their market cap since people will be too scared of whatever killed bitcoin.

It might depend on the reason why Bitcoin can die. In case when the death is due to total ban of Bitcoin as done by all governments or regimes then there is a possibility that Bitcoin death can also mean the death of altcoins. Now, if the reason can be other than that or it is within Bitcoin like losing the appeal from the market then there is a possibility that another coin can rise up to take the vacuum of leadership.

Very interesting point. The scenario almost requires that all global governments unite into a authoritarian regime. As it stands now I don't think that is very likely. Fiat currency opened the door for digital currency. In democratic countries it would require a fairly sweeping crack down and in some cases reversal of course as some governments have already signed on in form of policy guidance to the acknowledgement of cryptocurrencies as an economic instrument.

Some of them would able to live without bitcoins existence specially into those coins which can be trade directly with fiat itself like USD.They would able to survive or stand on their own feet even there would be no bitcoins but come to think that this would really be an opportunity to alts too get the spot on where bitcoin have left to. If bitcoin dies then it will really leave a big impact into crytpocurrency prices  but this thing wont easily happen if we do try to see the interest of community on bitcoin its hardly for it to get die easily.

Bitcoin is the parent of all cryptocurrency coins. so, obviously, if the bitcoin is dead then altcoin will follow it because all the coins lose its benchmark in determining their respective price. But I also believe that bitcoin will not die during the internet and technology is still there because bitcoins are born of these two factors.

Currently, Altcoins are really below the value and the community of Bitcoin.

bitcoin will not die. instead. One coin in the future will replace bitcoin. I hope so. Because bitcoin's blockchain technology is no longer suitable for present and future

I consider bitcoin as the root of a large tree, and altcoin is a branch of a tree. what will happen to the branch when the roots die? Then the twigs will start to dry and eventually die too. Bitcoin is now a necessity for everyone in all countries and the world. Altcoin could have died but the bitcoin will stay alive and forever exist, and meet the needs of its users, bitcoin will die if the market dies.

Well every currency has its own importance, we cannot compare two neither we can dominate the one with other, altcoin and bitcoin are two separate currencies and won't affect each other, if the price of bitcoin decreases it would not affect altcoin, but one thing for surely i can say is that bitcoin cannot die, people are favoring it and are getting obsessed with crypto currencies.

I used to think like that. I thought that it will be impossible for the alts to exist without Bitcoin. But what happened during the past few days have convinced me to think otherwise. I am referring to the BTC/BCH competition. Whenever the BCH exchange rates went up, that of BTC went down. Essentially, both these currencies are engaged in a competition for the top spot.
I see that in the different way mate as I'm just thinking that there's only some people or group who's manipulating this movements as we see that in just a week things just bounce back and those who got trapped are now getting some serious problem whether it will continue or it will just stuck from where it is by now, bitcoin still surviving and that's the end zone.

Someone is definitely manipulating the markets and cooking up the order books. But I am not sure who that is. A few days back, Roger Ver threatened to dump all of his Bitcoin stash (BTC250,000) for BCH. But as I can see, he hasn't sold any of his coins till now. Perhaps it was a futile attempt to manipulate the markets.

If bitcoin die something will replace it. But if this whole world of cryptocurrency got breached, which is something impossible atm, then everything's done for.

if the bitcoin dies then altcoin will compete to be the best digital currency, and I do not think bitcoin will ever die. bitcoin will always evolve in the future.
