Bitcoin is a very popular crypto coin today, we know that Bitcoin will be very expensive in the future but I imagine if Bitcoin die, whether there will be hope for the future of altcoin? because most altcoin exchanges are to bitcoins
your opinion is highly appreciated. Smiley

It is a possibility. When Bitcoin dies that means the entire cryptocurrency will get severely affected. We all know that Bitcoin is the father of all cryptocurrencies. Bitcoin is so influential in the world of crypto that it is almost as equal or synonymous to crypto. But I think it will not happen. The stakes are very high and it involves a lot of people, not just ordinary ones but owners of large companies all over the world. They won't allow it to happen at all.

I am not familiar what an altcoin is, where altcoin is used, and how altcoin was used. But in my own opinion, bitcoin will not die when altcoin dies because bitcoin has it's own value. Bitcoin doesn't depends on other coin to rise it's value. Bitcoin is said as the number 1 coin in the market cap now so if altcoin die, bitcoin won't die because they are different.
Altcoin is short term for alternative coin and they are mostly alternative for bitcoin and all of them have different kind of responsibilities and projects that any people can use. Bitcoin is the mother of all the cryptocurrencies but i don't think that if bitcoin dies then altcoin will die also because they are not connected because they have their different network which can stand with or without each other.
Almost potential altcoins just used the blockchain technology from Bitcoin, Ethereum, Monero, Dash, Ripple, ... are altcoins have high market cap and do not use all technology from Bitcoin. Only some altcoins cloned from Bitcoin as Bitcoin Cash, Litecoin, Dogecoin, ...

It might be happen because most altcoin is centered on Bitcoin. We can feel it right now, as the price of Bitcoin soars at that moment some altcoin prices go down. The important thing is that both are interconnected if altcoin is not there then Bitcoin is not as popular now and if bitcoin is not there then altcoin is nothing.
I have also observed that in the market. Currently the price of bitcoin is soaring high while the alternative coins are a going low. Except eth I think eth went up a little bit. Even people use alt coins they still go back to bitcoin because it is the main crypto currency.

It might depend on the reason why Bitcoin can die. In case when the death is due to total ban of Bitcoin as done by all governments or regimes then there is a possibility that Bitcoin death can also mean the death of altcoins. Now, if the reason can be other than that or it is within Bitcoin like losing the appeal from the market then there is a possibility that another coin can rise up to take the vacuum of leadership.

I would agree in this. It will surely depend on the reason why alternative crypto currencies will die in the future. This may effect to die if bitcoin will suddenly be banned in different countries of the world because of the government's policies that will affecr their economy. Altocins may be die as well because we know that just as how bitcoin does it in one's country, the same does to the altcoins. But if the reason that people will lose interest of bitcoin, this may not affect much of the other alternative crypto currencies like Ethereum and Litecoins.

There just one way who Bitcoin can die. Its when all goverment in the world would forbid bitcoin, and when this happens, the altcoin will die too. Thats the only way how BTC can die.

If bitcoin dies due to state intervention, then after it the altcoins will die. If there is no intervention and at the same time the cryptocurrency will go into oblivion, then bitcoin will be the last coin to die.

There are altcoins that are not based on bitcoin so they can still stand with out bitcoin but bitcoin was the first cryptocurrency so in my opinion, just my opinion maybe if bitcoin dies the rest will also follow or will become weak i’m not sure though.
Bitcoin was first but is not best right now. Maybe time has already come to give way to more perfect currencies.

As it has been said, the answer mainly depends on the reason bitcoin would die.
Anyway, if it should happen, I think the other altcoins could survive, but it would have a boomerang effect . People would lose trust in crypto and the value could decrease at a very low level

We respect your question if bitcoinn die, what happend in altcoin but we want to say something different,  if we everybody die who buy bitcoin?  I know this is a dunky question hope you understand.
Even though I think it's rather unlikely,  I have seen a trend where whenever the value of bitcoins depreciate, the value of the other cryptocurrencies seems to follow suit as well. But I don't think that the end of bitcoins will spell the doom for other cryptocurrencies as well, maybe bitcoins only will be banned by some government whiles the like of Ethereum and Litecoin may still be running.

If bitcoin dies due to some reason I don't think that it would
have a major effect on the altcoins as we currently have many
alts that are much better in terms of technological terms and
what they could offer to the masses

I think on the contrary, if bitcoin is, the altcoins will grow up. Capital will no longer escape from the crypt, will have to invest in something .

The blockchain will exist in some form, either Bitcoin or another altcoin. It is hard to believe that Bitcoin, Ethereum, and Litecoin will fade to obscurity.

First of all the situation wherein the bitcoin will die in coming years is just not close to possible.
Next if ever bitcoin dies, i dot think that altcoins will also die.  Altcoins are totally independent with bitcoin so it may indeed affect the alcoins value but not to the point that other altcoins will die too.

I can be pretty sure that altcoin is about to die and return to zero if bitcoin dies, since bitcoin is the predecessor of altcoin and bitcoin is the representative of coins. If bitcoin dies, the virtual currency will perish.

There is always chance that both will die but I dont think they are connected so much that if one dies then the other one goes down with it.
