My goal is to hold at least 10 Bitcoins in my cold wallet. That's when I get satisfied and can look with great interest to what will happen in the future. 2.5 more coins and my goal is reached!

Sure, but Gold is not a common payment option Smiley Or have you ever been gone to a store and bought food with gold? I don't think so. This is why I think he meant that this is a big problem for Bitcoin. Gold is a commodity to secure value. So is Bitcoin, too.

I.think that the biggest problem with Bitcoin is that its' amount is limited. That would probably be also the biggest obstacle for more massive use.

No.. that is the biggest feature.... It is the near perfect gold...

Bitcoin will become a store of value not a widely used item for purchasing, IMO of coarse.

Bitcoin will never be a mass phenomenon in the case that everyone is owing Bitcoin, thus it does not matter if it has a bad reputation or not. But Bitcoin could be used by the mass in the future (without their knowledge) if it is implemented in services which are offered and provided by companies to simplify processes and save costs (through the Bitcoin blockchain).

If you hold 10 or more you are part of an elite.

This is my conclusion after the years I have been involved here. Absolutely no one in real life knows what the hell Bitcoin is, and even your most geeky friends may probably never heard about Bitcoin. Now if you take into account the people that has heard about it... what percentage own 1 BTC? Exactly.. you know almost no one.
And what percentage own 10 BTC? I personally know no one (people from this forum don't count obviously).

This simple observation shows you only need 1 BTC to be a pioneer on Bitcoin in 2016.

Bitcoin might become the mass phenomenon you speak of, just not for a while. The growth of bitcoin in the past has been exponential, and more and more vendors and retailers are starting to accept them. You can buy almost anything online with bitcoins now. With that being said, nobody is a pioneer anymore unless they were purchasing them back when they were equivalent to $1. But that's just my opinion.

It's annoying to realize that btc is known only because of cryptolocker malwares. If this is the first that people have with bitcoin it does not help to spread a the good about it.

Although you may have a point, but I sort of disagree with you since by "pioneer" we should mean those who first used/discover it and now how much they own. I've been on BTCitcoin since the last months of 2011 and still don't consider myself on the so called group of BTCitcoin pioneers.

Thanks for uplifting post OP.

Although you are right, I don't understand why it is so. 1 BTC is pretty cheap in the grand scheme of things...and the potential of bitcoin is so huge...I CANNOT wrap my head around why so few people seem to want to own one. It's not like it's some underground little secret anymore. It's been around seven years!!!

It seems to me to be the bargain of a lifetime. In fact, multiple lifetimes have to come along for there to be something like this. We are INCREDIBLY lucky to be alive during the dawn of cryptocurrencies.

Why doesn't every single member of this forum own at least 1, for example?

We have absolutely no idea how bitcoin will scale in the future. All all speculation are based on the short bitcoin history - where indeed we had huge leap of value.
From literally $0 to $1000 in four years - we all now live with expectation that we could see similar patter in the future, but this time bitcoin will reach $10000.

Yes exactly, only 21 million people can have 1 Bitcoin.
And if some people have more then 1, even less people will be elite Wink

And this is also my goal just to have 1 bitcoin so my grandchildren will be rich as fuck Tongue
