All of the religious stuff are total bullshit for me. People say that this my belief and you must respect my belief but nobody have to respect someone's belief because I dont see any logical point to respect anybody who believes cows are sacred. By the way, Beef is more delicious than any other meat . I recommend it to Hindus.

I am really shocked to know that indians are worshipping an animal, don't get me wrong i respect their religion and all, but don't they even think for a minute that worshipping an animal is unecessary, it's over exaggerating. For me personally i don't worship any living being specially animals that serve as a livestock to human beings. I think it is more reasonable to worship a statue that resembles a god, than to make a mindless animal a worshiping tool for just an imaginary belief.

If that is actually the case of anybody who kills a cow should be killed then nobody would exist in the world of today. Several religious organizations will eventually turn us to vegetarians because the Muslims will tell us not to eat pork, this one now saying we should eat cow maybe we will start eating elephants I am sure one group will still come out to say we shouldn't do that eat that one too.

In Africa and South-east Asia, they used to hunt elephants and then eat them. But the practise has stopped, thanks to the colonialists banning elephant meat. The westerners have banned several types of meat, and they still complain when they can't get beef in North India.

And that affects your lifestyle? No? So just don't even mind. Even if they are a third world country is better to respect them.

Seems like a lot of these incidents are exaggerated by the media. At least in one incident, I read that the man who got lynched was targeted by the mob after he tried to rape a child.

It's literally the other way in India. Cow is a holy animal and majority of Hindus raise it and love it as a God. Milk and dairy products are food for all of Indians than beef. It's different from meat and majority of people don't like beef.

Guyanese Hindus came from India during the 19th century. But over the years, the orthodox traditions broke down, and people started eating beef.

Being an Indonesian Hindu, I am surprised at these killings. In Indonesia, we don't normally consider cows as holy animals. A lot many of the Hindus do eat beef in Indonesia, although a few may abstain from it.

I am also a Hindu and I am from Guyana. Here, beef is one of the staple food items. And only a very few Hindus refuse to eat it. I love beef and dishes made out of beef are my favorite.

I respect any religion and its believing. Moreover I admire Indians loyalty and the fact that the don't eats cows, but our freedom stops where the freedom of others begins. The fact that they killing people because they have killed cows is not just funny and dramatic it's also ironic and violates the human rights. You can not force others on what they will believe and how they will act.It is reminds me the terrorists of I.S.I.S.  Angry Angry

Pass that religion, It's good for cows. That's it. More rights neeeded for animals they don't differ from us.

Yes basically it is because of the tradition or beliefs of their religion.  So if you are a member of that religion then you should obey it.  If you do not like that and you want to taste a beef, then go out of that religion, simple as that.  Though of course, they are also created by God and they have rights.  The government should of course do something for those who will be accused of that law.  No one should be killed for killing a cow unless he is a Hindu.

Cows, pigs, sheep are all sorts of animals, but they are turned into sausage, shoes, bags, fur coats and so on. And few people wonder what kind of markup people have the right to do it.

Oh... not again. If you don't want to eat meat then don't do it. But you can't dictate what the others want to eat. I am a practicing Hindu, and I do eat meat (although I refrain from consuming beef for religious reasons). Food is a basic necessity and you can't put morality and ethics before a necessity.

I am Hindu and I do eat beef. The government wouldn't even dare think about putting a beef ban in Kerala.

There are more than 150 million Dalit Hindus in India, and almost all of them eat beef. No one is having a problem with that.

I'm against killing animals. Except when the animal is hurt and suffering .. Then, probably, it is better to put it to sleep .. Although, this is also a difficult question ..

Hindus believe cow as their sacred animal. Most of them dont eat it and they think killing cow as a sin.But what the problem is,in india, some hindus call themselves as cowrakshaks, meaning saviors of cow and they start attacking and even killing other people if found eating beef or carrying beef with them.Either you dont kill cow, otherwise you will be killed. Its their slogan.

Yeah, the current BJP government is being too hypocritical about beef. The religious or Hindutva agenda behind beef ban is clearly evident. Mahatma Gandhi on cow slaughter:

Quote
How can I force anyone not to slaughter cows unless he is himself so disposed? It is not as if there were only Hindus in the Indian Union. There are Muslims, Parsis, Christians and other religious groups here.

Banning beef in a secular country like India on religious grounds just puts a huge question mark on secularism.
