A shrewd investment, in a few years I'm sure he'll be glad to have all that btc.

We already know that it was not a shrewd investment. Even if btc goes to $100k tomorrow, then he should have sold the house for $ and purchased btc today. Then he would achieve a return more than 3 times greater than what he would actually get.

True but how was he to know of the price drop? If bitcoin goes up to anywhere near it's projected,  he'll be happy he bought at the price he did.

It is hard to buy at rock bottom and sell at the all time high, if you buy early and do x100 it is considered a good investment.

and that is why it is called rock bottom, because price hardly could move once it hit rock bottom anyway, anyway bitcoin could be worthless by tomorrow, so we never know

We will know if it was 'rock bottom' when we will have go up significantly in price and for a long period of time.

because it's an inherited house, it's totally cool that he squandered it all on Internet magic beans! /bitcoiner logic

does he have any more extra houses to chase his losses with?

the game is not over ,its only just beginning
how can he have lost ?

if hes a young man ,those coins maybe worth millions when he decides to spend them
...

To be fair, mentioned BTCeans really paid off for Jack--a visionary financier much like yourself.  Hodl!

"Jack and his mother then live happily ever after with their riches that Jack stole from the giant."--http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jack_and_the_Beanstalk

Actually if Bitcoin rises, it may be a good investment, who knows.  Too early to say he is losing

it was inherited

so because he inherited a house that means he has another house or is that your assumption?Because let me tell you something about the real world, most people don't actually own a house. Some people are fortunate enough to have parents who are established or grandparents who past down heirlooms. In other words,Your assumptions are just that. Assumptions.

Why is it important if he had another house, or even ten houses?

Here's the script

Sell house
label MOAR
if still-more-houses then
     sell house
     goto MOAR
else
     wait to inherit next house
     goto MOAR
end if

after giving away his house and buying in the 600something range and losing 70ish % of his money in 1 years time ... if he was genuine in the first place ... and he's not dead ... he's living in a trailer park / out of his car / on the streets and very very drunk ... best case scenario ...

Did you even read anything about this at all?

The article clearly states it was an extra house that he inherited from his father. He still has another house, job and income.

where does it clearly state it was an extra house? you clearly didnt read the article.

I read it about 5-10 times already and not once did it 'clearly' mention anything about 'it was an extra house'.
