With technology upgrading almost as fast as our eyes can blink, there is indeed a possibility that we'd have this kind of convenience. Although, I think it might take a lot of time to adapt especially to those whom are less fortunate. I don't think everyone has a high-tech phone, I know of us do but let's also think about the elderly, do you really think they'd be able to use this? They can be taught but like I said, it's going to consume time and patience. Nonetheless, I don't want to sound so pessimistic. If you ask me, I'd definitely agree to this! For Bitcoin, there is actually no doubt this could happen. More and more people discover Bitcoin each day, plus it's moving up to different scales. I can't wait for this ""future"" to happen!

How about those small business like those cigarette vendor's and others, can they avail that machine with surely high cost? Im from Philippines and I cant vision a cashless society in this country maybe in other rich country this could easily happen but for PH now it is too impossible.

The idea of a cashless society is great and will surely provide convenience to many, but I truly agree with what you said. There are a lot of factors that would have to be considered before implementing this change. Even a rich country for sure would have a hard time transitioning with this kind of society.

I don`t need to imagine cashless society, we are already with one foot in it. I don`t remember when I used cash last time, its all in credit cards. Cash that I have is usually for some little things, for everything more then 10$ I use credit cards. Even in this moment I don`t think I have more then 5-10$ in my wallet, its just for some little things, but for everything more then that I have visa`s, if I`m buying something big I have some credit cards. I don`t use cash like before, and using cash in everyday needs is minimal, every year I use less and less cash and have at least one more bank card.

Sweden is the closest thing we have to a cashless society and they are starting to worry about the consequences:

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-43645676

Quote
Sweden is winning the race towards becoming the world's first completely cashless society, but there are growing concerns it's causing problems for the elderly and other vulnerable groups.

It's got to the stage there were most bank branches refuse to let you withdraw cash. I think that's scary.
I think it is good and bad as well because cashless means that all your money has taken by some body and you have only a card or a digital wallet which is totally in the controls of some other hands. But on the other side there are lots of benefits of cashless society easy use and no fear of losing and looting is the main.

And I think that is the reason why this cashless society might happen in the far future since the technology are still not that developed to support a lot of people that will be having a transaction all day all night long. A lot of congestion and other problems will surely happen. But I guess with developed crypto currencies in our time, I guess that will be happening more quickly.
Cashless society means to educate all the people of the world. Till that time it is not possible that we will even enjoy cashless society, because most of the people in third world do not know about internet and for digital currency internet is mandatory. How they can use digital currency? So I think that it is just a dream which will never come to reality.

Understanding the risks that threaten financial stability due to crypto assets is very important if we want to see the difference between real threats and unfounded fears. That's why we need an impartial regulatory agenda - one that protects against risks, but no innovation on the throat

crypto-currencies will lead to "diversification of the financial landscape". This will improve the balance between "centralized and decentralized service providers and a financial ecosystem that will be more effective and potentially more reliable in countering threats

Just by using your phone, you could purchase almost anything. No need to withdraw on an atm. No more heavy coins on your pocket. Paying bills, and purchasing tickets without standing on a line. Very convenient and less time consuming. I know we're already using credit cards right now, but using a single currency like bitcoin world wide could really help on transaction, having less error than the normal and faster transfer and of course the security. Do you guys think this could happen in the future of bitcoin?

Cashless society is really good because in this way, people can have faster transactions and since bitcoins price is volatile then we can expect that the value of our coin will increase even more and products will be a lot cheaper.

For me it is very good thing because we are not getting that much benefit with our cash or the fiat currency as much as we can get from bitcoin or the digital currency, so I want something new as faith has become old fashioned currency now and it is modern age so we should use bitcoin because coming age is going to be age of crypto currency, because it is very easy to use, volatility of bitcoin will earn profit for you so in short crypto currency can do everything for us it can give us more than our expectation so it is time to change our society and move to the modern cashless society.

Cashless society is really good depending on the country, if most of the governments are corrupted and stealing peoples money then they can easily be traced, so i think that bitcoins will also erase corruption if it will become the nations only currency.

Cashless society can be one of the biggest innovation. Bitcoin is like a virtual money, we can use bitcoin for our daily lives if bitcoin will be legal. Legalization of bitcoin is one of the hardest part, giving the bitcoin is legal. We need to have bitcoin also be secured. A lot of illegal way which bitcoin can do. A lot of hackers, scams, and other ways for stealing bitcoin can be one of the obstacle to be legalized the bitcoins.
There is no doubt that bitcoin is one which can be hacked. Because we all know that we can only use bitcoin when it’s connected to the internet, besides internet is one of the most common place that provides the chance for scammers, hackers and the like to steal bitcoin in anytime. Cashless is the basic mean to take change in daily life of every country. Bitcoin is much more likely to be an extra currency which is legalized in most parts of the world.

In my own opinion, I think it is possible for that kind of transaction in the future. We will use bitcoin online in all our transaction. It is safe to use bitcoin in every transaction.

I think that the era of cashlessness has already begun. Nowadays, many times a mobile phone can let us not take cash. The era of cryptocurrency is coming.

I agree. Since the digital currency comes in, the cashless sociaty begun, and it will grow and grow on population and then will take over the fiat society.

I like the concept of virtual money and transactions but I still want to have physical cash. Things that we only see virtually does not makes us feel that we have it. It's just made-believe for me and just numbers. I also believe that most people don't like cashless society too.
We cannot eliminate the paper money entirely from this world as almost every one of us is using paper money since centuries and that they will never go for doing such thing no matter what. In case we experience a cashless society, then this will entirely change the dynamics of the world and that we will then be living an entirely different life without having any such need of keeping anything in our wallet.

the idea of cashless society is just basically a convenient way to spend/save your money without having to bring a wallet and an actual money with you. i get the fact that it was more easier to put it that way but, it is just that you tend to forget that physical and digital money may have the same characteristics but they differ in some instances. and not all countries are that advanced when it comes to that way of payment.

This is what happens all over over the earth already at this point.. Whatever, it does have some negative implications, especially when the cashless society is mainly integrated with banking system, all your transactions is easy to follow and find

Cashless society is really good because there are people in the corporate world who are working very hard and earning just a few salary but with cryptocurrency, you can earn more money more than you monthly salary since the price of bitcoins is keep on increasing.
What has making money to do with how we slowly progress towards a cashless society? Even without a cashless society people can earn a decent chunk of money from their crypto investments.

What you are talking about doesn't relate to the main subject of this thread. You are just showing how focused on the market/earning aspect of crypto you are, where everything else doesn't seem to be of importance.

Overall, it's probably safe to assume that the majority of the people here think exactly like you. They see crypto as cash cow, where the underlying technology is not a factor you are interested in.

BitHolder have a point. I see the same comments every day, majority
is interested only in making more money. Mostly their comments are
off-topic, always connected with earning more money.
Globally, progress to a cashless society is slow. Some countries will
be cashless in next 10 years. Every region have a different speed of
progress, but goal is the same, one day world will be cashless.
What will replace cash? Same traditional currency in digital form? Or
digital currency based on Blockchain technology?
Bank's will not disappear over night. Their fall did began with Blockchain
creation, but we cannot know when will banks lose their purpose.
Replacing traditional money with traditional money in digital form is not a
progress nor change. Advancing is only possible with adaptation of Blockchain
and completely changing economy we know now.
