Just by using your phone, you could purchase almost anything. No need to withdraw on an atm. No more heavy coins on your pocket. Paying bills, and purchasing tickets without standing on a line. Very convenient and less time consuming. I know we're already using credit cards right now, but using a single currency like bitcoin world wide could really help on transaction, having less error than the normal and faster transfer and of course the security. Do you guys think this could happen in the future of bitcoin?
For me yes, this could happen in the future but I am not sure if every country will adopt or use Bitcoin as signle currency since some other countries prefer to create their own cryptocurrency. The only problem of this cashless society is the use of crypto by lawless elements since it is decentralized and hard to track and also volatility since an economy needs a stable form of currency and assets like fiat money and gold. You said it right about the advantages of a cashless society and that is how it works in our convenience. Some other countries are I think has already been in this track and some others too are making some steps to try it in the near future.

Yes it has happened where now people just carry smart phones and atm cards in their wallets. because all the affairs can be completed on the phone and when to go shopping does not need cash to buy expensive items.

We cant wait for it to be honest. The cost of production and distribution of cash costs a nation around 1.5% of their gdp per year.

It is good since you only need internet connection. The problem is what if someone hacked your cellphones or accounts on the net? Or the transactions you entered on a computer  that had been infected by a worm causes all transactions to be very slow and you are last in line of about some 30 persons going to the counter for payment. How will customers react on this? There are advantages as we knew to be veru good, while some are also disadvantages that people don't want to hear about. Maybe we need more development on this.

honestly, IMO things like this may not happen in the future.
No, not a bit of people who think of this sort of thing, it is technological progress in the modern world, but anyway we can not forget traditional money or cash, sir. we need to know, before the existence of digital money like now, cash has been there before, so it will never happen, cash and digital will complement each other in the future in my opinion.

but it actually will. How much money can save the elimination of paper money and coins? There would be no need to print money from time to time and therefore spend more money. Also, what was there before cash that got replaced?

Paper money will be replaced, it's just a matter of time.

To be able to reach that at a world wide level, we should think of all the under developed and poor countries that do not have access to internet and education. We cannot achieve this goal by leaving them out of the equation. There will always be economical transactions between countries, travelers etc... If we do not have the same strong base, we will not be able to do it
Cashless society is good and it means the state is already developed. But as the usual case not all state can easily adopt or undergo this to be cashless society. Yes just like the poor countries it is hard for them to have this kind of transactions however, it is good but not for others.

Sometimes, I imagined it that way. No more hassle in buying stuffs. But so far, I know for a fact that it is also dangerous. It is still involves money, it's just that we can use our cellphones to transact. I agree that it is more convenient in so many ways. However, how can banks and governments handle that situation?

In my country living in, a cashless living is possible. It’s more of your choice, we can pay everything by just sitting in our room or using cards if we go shopping. Scan and pay is now a trend in our place of residence and that is advantageous to us in such way that lines will be shorten and much efficiently done without money change.

This cashless transaction is available in almost all country, but it remain as our choice if we do the same or do what comfortable to you.

Well, I think what is possible for now is "less cash" rather than "cashless" because the bond between the paper money and human is still hard to break. Besides, there are still companies, establishments, institutions, and people that do not widely accept bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies. There are still some of us that prefer something they can see, they can hold, and they can take control of. However, it wouldn't be so long 'til we can achieve that society where all transactions can be done digitally.

Philippines only online wallet (coins.ph) already introduce shopping, paying bills and fund transfer with the use of bitcoin just like what people wanted it to be, and now they even starting to have a partnership with transportation group like MRT/LRT with the launched of "beep". With this feature travelers can now used their card loaded with coins.ph to travel without cash back-and-forth. I think a cashless society is really happening now, we are just stepping on future and that is the digital economy.

Isn't that, pretty much to my knowledge, the situation in Norway? I was talking to some norwegian dude and he told me that most of the places there won't accept paper money at all. The next thing you know, we all will be able to get a chip with our btc address on it and whatnot, so we can pretty much control everything with our phone, and then BAM NWO. Grin

Joking aside, I tend to eliminate paper money from my daily use and can surely say that that's the future in the next 10 years or so.

I agree on you that is better and cool. It is just a few opportunities to do so. Because everyone even me likes to have a hassle free transaction just like buying and getting money using bitcoin is better. Bitcoin money is very useful everywhere you go, it can be use as paying bills and buying anything we want.

If in the future we will have cashless society, that would be great to all of us. We can purchase and eat in the restaurant with no worries that we left our wallets or dont have enough cash. Having e-wallets would be very convenient because we dont have to queue in atms or be afraid that our money might be stolen or we got robbed. It would be very convenient.

I think already we are not mostly cashless society after the debit abd credit cards enter into the world we no need to carry our money in the bags we can pay anywhere in the world with our fiat money too,but we need to imagine a decentralized money system. No government is controlling the society and system we people can use our money as we want.It sounds good right.

Cashless settlement will soon replace paper money, because it is much more convenient and safer. It's also like cell phones replaced wired.
The question for once made me think of the Barter society which was a cashless society. The mediums of exchange were the goods and services. A cashless society in the current scenario will be a different society which will change the market structures and banking system. The recent financial crisis in Venezuela made people stay away from cash due to extreme devaluation of the currency and the transactions are done with mobile money which makes the Venezuelan society a cashless society with a different market structure and banking strategies.

Having a cashless society is quite inspiring but I suppose it is just limited to some. I believe there are people who can't afford to buy phone or gadget neccessary when doing online settlements. It is really good to have this cashless  society to have a faster, convenient and hassle-free transaction.

It would be great if it all happened to greatly simplify life, where today is the modern era of all the cutting edge most sophisticated technology that all makes everyday activities easy, but that's just in your imagination. I think with fiat and debit is enough but better bitcoin can be virtual money does not have to eliminate fiat, surely some countries there are people who do not know technology or reluctant to know and that every year hereditary, this will be a battle for the future, You know if bitcoin efforts into virtual money and get rid of cash will make the situation very hot and contrary to every bank.

Each currency has its advantages. I am opposed to narrowing the range of possibilities. What for? Let there be Fiat, bitcoin and all altcoins. Each person will choose for themselves the most acceptable option. Bitcoin is not always convenient. But if you use it in conjunction with other currencies, you can always find a convenient option.
It's good to think that it's gonna happen in the nearer future. It really provides more convenient to people from different walks of life. However, I think it takes so much time to have it realized and be adapted around the world. Not only people have a full understanding on what it is and not all people are easy to convince and most of all there are only few countries accepted cryptocurrency. But we all can do our part and make it come into reality.
