Any and all religions are there to control a section of the population in some way. If a bit of research is done, all religions have terribly violent and barbaric roots, even Christianity.
No religion, person or entity should have the right to dictate to you what you may eat, drink or think, that is just a means of controlling us.

You're right, but I think you just provoked this guy @BADecker Grin

I do not drink alcohol, I never actually drink alcohol... but I have relatives who drink and to be honest, I do not like to be around people when they are drinking alcohol

I see nothing terrible in a bottle of beer with my friends once in a while or a bottle of good wine for a family dinner. In certain amounts alcohol has a positive effect on our bodies unless you have problems with liver or smth like that. It can normalize blood pressure and reduce level of cholesterol if you drink wisely.
Yes i believe that too, have read and heard that one glass of vine after meal is good for health. You are right about what you said, but i think that there are other people who can not control them self and tend to drink too much. Some because of problems, and some people because they like it too much.

For those who can not control themselves better and do not start drinking alcohol, because in this way they only destroy their body.

Car crashes, SIDS, low fetal birth rate, liver failure, destruction of brain cells and death are just a few that I can mention.

In life, we can not be far from religion, everything must be based on religion. For the problem of alcoholic beverages, there is a religion that forbids his people to drink it, some also allow it. For people whose religion forbids them to drink alcohol, it is definitely not to be done. In addition to prohibiting religion, there are indeed many negative effects of drinking alcohol. But for people whose religion does not forbid them to drink alcohol, I suppose that's fine, as long as they drink it at not too much. Because if excessive will make you drunk, not freshness obtained, but many problems will come.

As far as I am concerned, religion can't dictate what I do in my real life. Religion can't prohibit certain types of food or drinks. If it does that, then the adherents are just slaves of that particular religion. The clergy becomes the slave masters.

Having lived with an alcoholic that could not beat the addiction I did a lot of research on this. The best explaination I found goes something like this:

Alcohol is literally a poison. When you drink it, you feel the effects of that poison working on your body. If you drink too much your body will try to defend itself by making you vomit out the poison.

Not that big of a deal if done once in a while. Your body can handle it.

The biggest problem comes when you drink alcohol while your body is still developing. Your body will do the usual thing of trying to keep you from poisoning yourself. You will puke, you will feel sick. But if you continue to drink while you are young your body will adapt. Because you continue to injest this poison your body figures it will be a common thing so it changes your body to compensate. It will literally change your body chemistry so that alcohol is not only expected, but required. Your body changes to treat alcohol as a necessity. Going without alcohol triggers reactions in your body that make you want to drink in the same way that not eating food triggers your body to react making you want food.

And it just gets worse over time the more you drink. Maybe you can change your body chemistry over time but your body is no longer developing so there is not much reason for it to do so.

So basically drinking heavily, often, when you are young will make you an alcoholic later in life.

As for the occasional drink. Beer is actually fairly healthy, wine is also healthy. You can injest small amounts of poison without harming your body. Our bodies are fighting off bad things all day. But while your body is developing it should be avoided. And drinking to the point of puking should be avoided.

Personally I plan on scaling back my drinking. I plan on trying to rid my body of unnessesary chemicals over time.

I have learned that it is perfectly ok to go to a bar and order cranberry juice and still be able to enjoy the friends and atmosphere.

Hi guys. Just wanted to know whether drinking is good or bad for our health...first of all i drink every weekend because i feel refreshed after a heavy week of work..  After i drink i take a lot of food and have a nice sleep....I do not have any kind of headache or anything after drinking but will it affect me in the future.... My dad almost drinks everyday right from his childhood may b at the age of 18 but my dad is healthy and strong even after drinking so many years... Thanks to god for that....... Any way,  When it comes to your health, is it better to drink or not to drink?

In moderation yes but as soon as the person can't control it or need it it's not good. In the U.S., one drink is usually considered to be 12 ounces of beer, 5 ounces of wine, or 1½ ounces of spirits (hard liquor such as gin or whiskey). Each delivers about 12 to 14 grams of alcohol. I have read before that  no more than one to two drinks per day for men, and no more than one drink per day for women are moderate. But some can take more alcohol and some can't. It's just about what YOU want to risk for yourself.

That would be fine as long as you drink moderately, but if not you will get disadvantages of it, because once you get drunk it will affect your whole physical body, and get hang over it something like that.

Some people want to relax properly after a day's hard work. So they will drink themselves to unconsciousness. Can't blame them for that, as long as they behave in a proper way.
And how can you drink alcohol and behave properly. Yes indeed, you can not show aggression towards others, but still under the influence of alcohol, you can't control itself, and create discomfort to others.

Certainly is a drunk and uncontrolled mind, I never recommend alcohol consumption because it can ruin lives and our health. use the time for a good thing.

Quitting alcohol completely is stupid. In small doses, it can be useful. You just need to know the measure and choose high-quality alcohol. Life after all, one can sometimes be a bit relaxed.

It's not stupid in all instances. When I drink, I think shooting heroin is a good idea. The risks of drinking far outweigh the benefits for me.
A lot of things can be affected by drinking alcohol. it could lead to different things like marijuana, then hardcore drugs, something like that. It's not healthy for people and it would never be, especially if it's too much. It's best to stay away from it and just enjoy life without it, you'll have more fun that way.

alcohol dulls the mind and creates negative thoughts and emotions as well as exposes you vulnerabilities, waste of time money and spirit.
I dulls the mind only for a brief time, as for the negative thought and emotions it is arbitrary.
People behave differently after use of alcohol, it is true that some can exhibit aggressive or negative behavior but that is not a norm.
As for the waste of money - a I guess expensive, luxury food or entertainment is a waste of money for you as well.

The point of drinking alcohol, is that it lowers one's anxiety, if taken in small amounts.  If you drink too much, it doesn't work so well, and causes more problems than it is worth.
My brother tried alcohol as a young man, because he was nervous at social things.  Quickly he realized that if he could calm down his stress with the alcohol, he could learn to calm down without it.  So he learned to drink very, very little, just enough to remind his brain to chill out.

People who try alcohol and it doesn't calm them down, will drink more and more, trying to reach that place, but it doesn't work that way.
It is perfectly fine if you never want to try alcohol!  And it is perfectly fine to know that too much alcohol is a poison.  And it is definitely good to know that it is bad for young people.

I agree somewhat with your point because it has that effect on people, making them comfortable and be happy while socializing. Sometimes I do that but not too much. Drinking can never be a reason for doing something stupid to anyone.

Alcohol can actually make our body rilex,
But do not over-consume it, the substance has been around for a long time and can be used for treatment, my advice is not too excessive and do not consume too often because it will affect the future, such as fertility, level of awareness and many other negative impacts
