having a conversation with a friend today , he was asking me if he should sell or hold a coin. i didnt give a straight answer, i just told him the project is a good one that can do well but if you are willing to wait then you can hold but if you need some money then you can sell off. he then replied that he will wait for an additional 25% increase before he would sell off. i think i tried my best to let him make his final decision himself. is there any better way to do this? if it were you, how would you respond to this. ??
The thing you've said was just actually right because he does have the full control or decision since its his money after all.If he do intent to wait for more another 25% increase then so be it.
Just tell him about the probabilities of price cant reach on a specific range but since everything is unpredictable then theres always a 50% chance for it to happen.
So its up to him if he would wait or sell out on point because each one of us does have its own criterias before making any decision towards our investmentment.
Just really let him decide so that you wont really be blamed out in case the price had go to the opposite side, so its just right that you do let him choose whatever the thing he do have in mind.Due to unpredictability of

the market then its really hard to decide and you are right that we do have our own choices when we do make out decision. It isnt an easy stuff specially on the times when our mind do tell to sell but our

feelings inside do tell that we should wait for a little more and hoping for more price increase. So this one will vary to person to person.

what you said is correct. because basically the decision to hold and sell is up to your friends. I would suggest to him/her to hold the top coins by selling little by little while for the new coins I would let him/her choose between selling or holding

Previously had to go through research first, what about the project.
1. Clear vision and mission
2. Responsible team
3. List market to be registered.
If all three points are clear, then the best thing to do is to hold the token and patiently wait for the most appropriate selling price.
I would none of that really matters when you are giving advice to someone else. The only true answer is "do whatever you feel like doing because it is your own money" and nothing else would be the correct answer. It could be a project with a clear vision and a mission, it could be a project with one of the best teams out there, it could be listed everywhere.

We could be talking about ethereum here and the answer will always be the same "do whatever you feel like doing because it is your own money" because that is the correct answer. Even coins that look like it will go 10x easily have gone down before, and if the person you give advice to ends up losing money they will blame you for it, and for years as well, there is really nothing you can do to prevent that if the market suddenly starts to go down as a whole. This is why I never say hold or sell, I just get out of the way.

Take my advice as the best advice. Altcoins season is changing every time on every altcoins. If you want to take profit from every altcoins, you can't wait to make the highest profit. My advice is to keep changing your altcoins just don't come to previous altcoins until the low price of your selling price. Here you are part of everything trade, hold and sell.

Letting himself to decide must be the best option here in my opinion as well. Some investors are always in hurry to make profits because they are not ready to believe into stable market conditions because of their previous experiences with high volatile market conditions.

So, they just want to realize all the profits they are seeing; this is the reason that they must be always going for book profits rather than waiting and letting profits grow further.

For the long term, prospective holding is a good option but you should also remember that there were many coins from top 100 is dead right now. This happens because of week fundamentals. So hold only those coins that have strong fundamentals and good developments plan for the future along with good partners and support from the crypto community.

It's very important to have good partnerships and good developements, hold coins that have real usages and the development of the project are progressives.

Investors are there when they  see that certain assets are moving forward, even the value keeps on rising you'll see more support to show up and more traders and investors will gather interest to participate and start sending money for their investment.

You have to engage yourself inside this business and not just to entrust your money with luck, go deeper and see all
the potentials of those assets that you are eyeing to invest with.

I would just suggest that friend to DYOR we don't hold the future and many things could happen and it might be different to what we really expect.
I don't want to take responsibility to whatever might happen just look at some of the people who follows Elon Musk they lost and blame it to him while it was all their fault for listening pr following,
They are in control of their own money so they should be the one to make decisions.

If the coin is great and has high potential to increase then he should hold if he has Invested in shitcoin then he should book his profit and leave that token.

I think you handled it the best way you could,  I would have done the same thing, telling him to say straight away is not very ideal imo, letting him make his own decision is the best option so he can assume responsibility in whatever the outcome may be, imagine if you has told him to sell then the price keeps pumping or vise versa,  better to let people make their own decisions.

It depends on the coin that your friend is holding and his target profit. If he's happy with his current profit then selling would be a good idea but if he trusts the potential of the coin that he's holding and wants to gain more then holding it would also be a good choice. Things will depend on his personal choice and situation.

** What is the story about that coin?  It will be very important to decide to Hold or Sell for a reinvestment.

I have taken steps to prepare for the moments of market correction, and timely staking / farming seems like a good space to facilitate long-term for me.  Apart from some altcoins that are doing fine with good support like ETH, ADA, Polygon.  Most likely, bitcoin will have to take a correction when Doge bounces off the dump.  BNB / Cake is a pair with good APR.  No need for stop-loss

If your friend has profit from the coin hold, you have to convince him to be satisfied with the profit he gets. I honestly don't know what coin your friend is holding. If he held a high-end coin, he'd better hold onto the coin for a long-time, but if your friend is holding a low market cap coin, he better sell it immediately while he still makes a profit.

Bitcoin- in bullish time
I think that a wise way to address it would be for everyone to make their own research and if it possible to spend a bit of time around charts and indicators (they are practically talking).
Emotions are not really a good thing when it comes to selling for profits.
So the more you know about any coin that you hold, the more clear and accurate predictions you can make about it.
The decision lies in the result of our search and also in its current trend.
It is very important to understand the market situation, emotions could certainly affect our decision but we don't let things be deceived by this.

yeah, that is really hard to make a decision if you are not so good in the market, you'll most likely be messed up. But, we could still make it good as long as we are not in the hurry, as long as we spending more time doing the market analysis, are the things that could help us for having the right decision. You'll be hitting the sell or hold button, that is up to us.

If the coin he holds has high potential then suggest to your friend and wait for a minimum price increase of up to 50%, because for the future many coins will reach a new ATH then never hesitate to invest in a coin that has potential, and at the moment we can see the price of ETH continues to increase and I am sure for other coins will definitely follow the flow of ETH.
It's not at all when there's a time that we need to sell our tokens especially if it reached to it's all-time high then we should wait then buy again at dip. I prefer to hold if I believe to that token, there are some tokens that I just hold the others need to sell. ETH really performed well and it will soon break the $4k, congrats to ETH holders. Time to sell if the token is for long run and sell is also the best option for the investors to get profit and switch to other undervalue project.

There should be good reason to hold. How successful of the project and what they can do in the future. In addition to the case of the market, the project itself is the important factor too.

Another reason to make decision is invested amount. If invested quantity is more than you can risk, it may be rethinked. While the market needs to stop going up long ago, it still continues to increase, That is why I think it is too late to get great risks.

The movement of each coin in the cryptocurrency market is different. So if you shared the name of the coin here, you would get the best suggestion.
However, if you want to hold top altcoins like ETH, BNB, ADA, you can hold them. This is because pumping of other altcoins is more likely to start after ETH. As a result, holding a coin is more likely to make a profit.

You have a point, but I guess both ways have good result to people most especially if they choose to do the right thing. Decision really matters and contentment of how much money you need to have. Selling and holding can both gives you profit. There is always right time in it , that is why it is very important to understand the movement and its process. To Monitor is also good thing to do.
