It is different from betting to betting. Elder ones like the scratch cards and lottery and all that kind of stuff, whereas young ones prefer sports betting. In fact it is such a huge huge difference in sports betting that, I could say that 90% of the people who bet on sports games could be people who are under 30 years old, whereas people who play lottery are probably people who are over 60 years old.

That type of difference is quite important, we should definitely consider that as a possibility and would definitely end up with a greater understanding on why young people prefer sports betting instead. Basically, I would say that gamblers understand the risks of all type of gambling which means they look for sports betting kind of skill based things because it would provide them both thrills and profits.

I can't say because before, when there was no online gambling, more elders went to physical casinos. Now that there are online casinos, our times are different, and it seems like it has become divided and the number of people playing has increased.

Because even a small amount of money can actually play gambling online, and more people can promote gambling online today because of influencers
on social media.

Most old gamblers are involved for social inclusion. They've had their busy days and attention  at the younger years and are now being face with the realities of the loneliness associated with old age, so they still get that community like lifestyle in the physical casino houses and only retire back to their house to have lunch or rest their weak bones when they're exhausted. Some of them don't actually gamble much at the casino, but they engage in series of discussions and try to teach others a thing or two for those that will give them audience.

Most old gamblers have no business with online casinos because very few of them are tech savvy, online casinos reduced younger gamblers patronage of physical casino. I still think younger ones gamble more because of the flexibility associated with online gambling and the fact that its not regulated most times

That's why I say that the tendency to gamble has its roots in culture, education and social norms in each country. In some countries there are very young people who have extremely rich parents who let them flaunt their wealth, and such young people are very frequent visitors to casinos. The only difference between young and old gamblers is that the former don't spend their money, and if you didn't earn something yourself, then it's even easier to spend it since you know you'll get more money very easily.

The Young Ages

1. They are just starting their lives.
2. They like playing games naturally.
3. They are going to be on pressure soon, to start a family, and to be recognised in the society.

The Old Ages

1. Either old gambler or not, the hunger for gambling will have reduced a lot.
2. They already have their lessons learned.
3. Most older people have no more worries in life, financially or supporting their family would have reduced.

Since gambling involved making money, I believe those who needed money the most are vulnerable to becoming gamblers, while those who seek for fun in games dont even need to place any bets using money, it is undeniable that the youths will run after money while the older people won't have the zeal anymore, one part will prefer to enjoy the games while the other will want to make money by force.

Why do you think young people have higher need in money than elder? Who are those young people anyway? 20-25 yo? All they want is new sport car, new iphone, 2-3room flat in the center and a pc probably. I would say that their “I need, I want list” is way more shorter than elders have. If young gamble for money, then they most probably do it low budget and stop when they get 1-5k. I would say that there are more young because of online casinos, and they be more friendly with gadgets.

Of course its young people that needs to gamble more because they are the ones that have high need for money. They want to make it in life so fast using gambling as a tool to make that possible. One thing they dont know is that gambling is not a get rich quick scheme. Yes many persons has been lucky to have gain lots of money that made them rich but we should understand that it is not something we would invest all out time, money and resources to if not it will take full control over us that we wont know ourselves anymore. Once it reaches that level of addiction there will  be no way we can be successful in gambling. The reason is because we wont be gambling with the right mindset or in a calm way but in a rush to get the money thereby making wrong choices of bet.

One of the reasons why we are quite sure that young people are more involved in gambling, especially in online casinos than the elderly, in my opinion, is because young people are born when the times are quite modern, where the development of the times is increasingly sophisticated in the digital era, which over time they are getting used to and more comfortable to be or operate something that smells online because it is easily accessible, And if we distinguish between online casinos and physical casinos, it is clear that in my opinion online casinos are far superior because you don't need to leave the house if you want to gamble, you only need a smart phone or laptop to be used as a tool or intermediary for gambling anytime and anywhere.

On the other hand, as you said and I agree with it that the elderly or those who have an age above 30 prefer to engage in the type of physical casino, one of the reasons that makes sense is that they prioritize the social aspect with other people who can make the atmosphere more festive and fun and another reason why the elderly prefer the type of physical casino is because they usually have difficulty in terms of operating something digital. Basically it really depends on the wants and needs of each person regardless of whether they are the younger generation or the elderly in terms of choosing the type of gambling and also I can't be sure about who makes more gambling as a place to earn between the younger generation or the elderly.

The elderly people have passion for gambling,  this they do not primarily for the money they will earn from it, but as a form of social activity probably to prove they can still think logically and critically even at old age. The introduction of online gambling has changed lots of narrative we were told about gambling while growing up. Right now it is quite difficult to really tell which age range or gender gamble more as people now gamble from the comfort of their homes without the next person knowing about it. Every age range loves games and sports, they'll always try out their prediction skills through gambling. Gambling has undergone lots of phases and I'm sure with time local gambling styles will be a thing of the past as people will embrace modern forms of gambling.

I am not so sure as I do not remember reading any statistics about this, but for what I can tell it seems the elderly gambled more than the current generation, however for what I can tell this is not because the new generations do not like to gamble, it is just that the elderly have more disposable income they can use for their hobbies.

So even if the young like to gamble, they still have debts they have to pay and they are far away to reach the peak of the career ladder, while the elderly not only already achieved all of those milestones, but often have no debt to service anymore.

Yeah and old people are not meant to engage in things that'll get them too worried. Since they've retired, gambling with their money is not good for their health. Gambling problem could lead an old person to severe illness. Old people are occupied with fatigue and barely have strength to do things like the young people. It's certain that gambling consist of more young people compared to the elderly people. Lots of reasons why young people play games is for the fun and money. Such things may not interest the elderly people anymore.

Only few old people who may have gotten addicted at an early stage of gambling would spend most of their time repeating similar lifestyle as aged people. But a player who didn't get addicted to gambling at a young age, can avoid it when old. Because they've understood how gambling operates, and that it could exhaust their funds. Other than that since they're not familiar with the internet gaming, going to the casino will be a hassle due to fatigue and tiredness. Few known natural factors reduced the activities of elderly people in the casino. Online casino is an advantage for young people who spend most of their time online.

I think since many young people are involve online. Especially on making money, they are more inclined to participate in those, so no wonder if younger people participated more online. Yet if you visit physical gambling sites, there you can see really elderly or maybe those around their 40s that are playing. Less are those who are in their mid 20s and 30s. Once I ask local gambler on our town out of curiosity if he would prefer online or traditional gambling. He said he still prefer traditional gambling because the experience there is better. Online casinos are there to invite young people to real gambling.

Normally I think young people crave for gambling more because young people are more interesting in games and they have this confidence that it is easy to always win in gambling. One thing I noticed about gambling despite it isvery addictive as people gets advanced in their age their urge for playing gambling reduce this may be as a result of responsibility and realising that playing gambling more is not a guarantee to win.

From what I have seen in life , I believe young people are more into gambling to the elderly people.  Elderly gets retired of many lifestyle as they are getting advance in life.

The majority is dominated by adult men, but it also does not rule out the possibility of some women doing it too.
Especially now that online casinos are easy to access and anyone can gamble, even underage children accidentally play camouflaged gambling games as children's games.

Looking at many facts now, many games are ultimately categorized as gambling games,
but played by everyone without knowing age and gender limits.

I don't think I've ever thought about it but I'd have to say I think it's fairly even here.  At least whenever I go to brick and mortar casinos I see tons of young people in certain areas like caps and blackjack.  Slots are predominantly older people it seems like.  I'd have to think online casinos must be more young people.  I'd think much older people wouldn't trust them since they didn't grow up with them.

Maybe that happens in your community, but at my own side, men are the once that are always going to farm and doing other things just to make sure they bring food to the table, the women will just be cooking and taking care of children and other things which are suppose to be attended to at home.

In my community the young once are always taking gambling as a source of income, they believe if they keep on gambling, they will be able to gamble and take care of themselves, but gambling shouldn’t be taken as a source of income, gambling should be done just for fun, but youth in my country are taking as a source of income which at the end they do end up being addicted to gambling.

You have a point, smart phones have been contributing to the significant growth of gambling among both young and older people because it seems to make things more easier and easily accessible by anyone. The introduction of online gambling has actually helped to increase the number of gamblers and have made it even easier for women to gamble as well since most women are not comfortable gambling physically if not online.

Well, from what is happening around me here there are no much female gamblers or i rather say they are very difficult to see but i know there will be some women gambling without anyone knowing about it. The percentage of female gamblers is very low compared to male gamblers here.

You're right, there's a clear difference between how older and younger gamblers like to play.  The older crowd definitely prefers heading out to the physical casinos to soak in the flashy atmosphere and maybe order a few drinks while they play some slots or cards and  for them, it's an experience and a bit of a social outing I guess. 

But the younger gen seems totally fine just whipping out their phones and placing bets whenever its convenient, probably because they're used to doing everything on their devices nowadays.  Lower bet amounts probably matter too since they have less disposable income.  I dunno maybe it's a combination of factors.  But clear difference in how they like to gamble based on age it seems.

Young minds are more involved in gambling activities than the elderly ones, when we look in at the way they commit theirselves to gambling starting from the casino houses, the use of online gambling platforms and how other people often subscribe in for gambling and games, we have youths to be more actively involved in gambling because most of them were not more attached to responsibilities that may detached them from having more time for gambling, unlike the young ones, who could manage to move round with gambling seeking for their choices to have fun with.

Nothing can stop someone from being addicted to gambling. Many gambling sites have now been created and are easy to access anywhere. Unfortunately in my country there are no penalties for those who gamble despite using online sites, the Government seems to allow this and will not be responsible when users who gamble lose money and lose the assets they use for betting instantly.
