In the case of my country, most of the people who gamble here are young people and usually the games they play are slots. This is quite reasonable because gambling here is prohibited, so older people cannot access offline casinos and they are also not very technologically savvy, which limits them from accessing online casinos from their devices. As someone from Africa, I don't agree entirely with your evaluation. I have lived in multiple environments and in those environments, youngins are usually the ones much more actively involved in gambling than aged people. The only exception would be that the environment with more older people indulging in gambling vs youngins is underdeveloped areas. In more urban areas, the reverse is the case because its a different bull game and more bills to be paid.

Fun fact: I haven't seen a board game in 5 years or more.

The younger ones gamble more than the older ones. The reason is because the population of the youths is higher than the elderly, bad health conditions and death is a challenge to elderly people. Technology have made it easy for the youths to access the casino and place their bets easily, unlike the elderly ones who are used to traditional gambling, they need to go to where they will gamble.

Majority of youths see gamble as a get rich quick scheme, which is making more youths pumping into gamble, thinking that they are hustling.Elderly ones already understand that gambling is for fun, and they gamble only for fun. I don't think that there is an elderly person who have not gambled before in his life, that will say he wants to start gambling at old age. Any elder gambling, have been gambling for long.

The checkers game that you mentioned in which our elders use in gambling, is a game that I understand and know how to play it. So sometimes, if it happens that I need to see someone but he is at the traditional casino gambling, when I get there, I watch the game for a while to see who will win the bet, before I leave.

I have lived in many communities and some States or regions in my country and there are some communities I went and I discovered that women are more productive by going to farm and other daily activities to provide food in the family than men. And their.wives would go to farm or fishing to feed the families. Till date those things are common in the places I have visited in the country, mostly the elderly ones who the young once are busy using the casino centers and websites to play their games.

The elderly ones are still busy playing games with the traditional methods so most of us didn't notice that they are gambling but they bet with money and that has become automatically a gambling habit while the younger generation is using the new methods of online and casino Halls. Mostly of this elders would left home early morning to the draft games centers and stay there till evening. Playing games with one another. In most time they use places that sells drinks and smoking things like cigarettes and others. Those places are always busy with elderly people.

And especially middle aged people in here seem to gamble online, at least those that don't use it as excuse for socializing. Because it's safer and takes less effort.

I think with the emerging of online games, I can see that young generation these days have easily get hooked into those variety of games and eventually fall into gambling addiction. But what we also don’t know is that even elders these days are still into gambling, although they’re not visible playing with their smartphones but that’s because they are having more fun with gambling in betting shops or real casinos wherein they can socialize with other gamblers as well. That only proves that both are still active when it comes to gambling, some are just fond with online while others prefer betting into physical casinos.
