It doesn't matter to Yifu because he wins either way. What will happen to the all those refunded gen 1 chips? He will just make more avalon and mine for himself. Also noted difficulty will not rise as fast. So it pretty much just him (which already has manufacturing experience) vs all the other upcoming big guys.

You got it....& his homeland wins.......he'll sell all the chips there & forget about "ole roundeye"  Roll Eyes

Very sad state of affairs,BTW,you think batch 3 refunds were/are slow.............watch how long these take !!!  Shocked

Now lets see if Yifu actually issues any of those refunds, this is starting to sound like nefario to me.

He hasn't refunded Batch 3 customers yet, what makes anyone think he'll honour chips refunds?

?? I'm pretty sure batch 3 customers got their refunds.

I am a batch #3 customer who has not received their refund yet. Order #5105.

Hi Yifu,
I have not yet received my Batch 3 refund.
Can you please advise when you will be processing these refunds?

Thanks

let's hope in the future not doing any pre-sells would solve all these problems.

Or sales, customer service, answering support tickets, emails and PMs.  That would also solve your problems, no?

What happened to trade-ins?  Cancelled?

Or you'll just say you don't want to deal with this BS.

What happened?  Too busy or you just forgot about them

+1

We wait a solution for tradein and batch3 refunds.

So where did that Avalon chip shipment that was tracked to Hong Kong end up, at Bitmine?

A possibility Bitmine have to pay extra to shipped the chips maybe another $2k or so to Yifu, so he can ship his batch a head of others,.

This sounds plausible, can't believe Yifu was trying to blame the community for greed when he is knee-deep in it from the beginning.

but he didn't explain himself or the situation either.

EDIT: And greed is not what a honest customer is driven by. Greed is to promise but to not deliver in order to gain profit.
Every chip not shipped is more BTC for every miner, including Avalon.

In other news, we are shipping as per usual like our last update and are doing the best we could but probably simply going to offer full refund soon, I am tired of this toxic community malformed by greed.

Ya know what?  I don't even care if I get banned for this; it needs to be said.
Go fuck yourself.  Go fuck yourself with a rusty goddamn kitchen knife, you rank amateur.

All anyone has asked for was for YOUR COMPANY TO HOLD UP TO ITS COMMITMENTS.
Ya know, how you posted a 'no bs' bulk chip order policy?  9-10 weeks lead time, no refunds, no games, no bs?

So much for no bs.  You just can't admit that you / your company failed to hold up their end of the bargain, failed to give prompt and clear communication as to what was going on, and brought the entire situation upon yourselves.  What did you think was going to happen, everyone was just going to be happy go lucky about having deadlines blown with no communication or answers as to why?
YES, sometimes things happen.  Delays happen.  It's the way it is.  But when you're dealing with someone purporting to be a business, you usually expect at least some communication in a PROMPT fashion - not this sit and let everyone stew and worry and speculate for a few weeks, pop in with excuses and promises of shipping again by end of week, and then disappear again for a few more weeks before popping in again with more excuses and saying oh now we're shipping again like we said we would be a week or 2 ago, and blaming the community and your own customers for YOUR failings.

You got my money, not the other direction!
False promises, no communition, "I just got from the plane".
MAN! I'd love to fly somethere from other ppls money, too!

So, who was greedy, Mr. Yes I Fucked U?

You should better say sorry for your own faults than inverting the facts.

Yeah, it's either an admission that he's out of touch with reality, or is feigning ignorance. I'm not sure which is worse.

Being out of touch with reality is much worse, we are already used to feigning ignorance.

Calling people who shelled out 8-digit US$ sum to him (and being cheated not receiving the product) "malformed by greed" shows some kind of mental disorder.

I don't see too many group buys or much board development work happening any time in the near future re: their gen-2 chips .  Fool me once....

I would never develop for avalon gen2, waste of time.

Nor would I buy anything Avalon related from you even if you did...

lol! you think if I got the skills to make ASICs don't you think I can run a scam better than this?

Lol, basically openly admitting he's running a scam.

He's run the scam to perfection.  He collected $10million from the group buy community, then screws them over by first delivering 2.1 million chips to resellers in early July.  Nice for him to turn his back on the community that rallied around him.  Finally when the community began to get angry, he cries "stuck customs" unfortunately none of  the date codes on recent chip shipments support that, they were only produced recently.

Apparently $14million for 135 boxes from resellers was too hard to turn down.  If there's the rancid stink of greed anywhere, it's coming from him.

I am tired of this toxic community malformed by greed.

Man, you've got quite some nerve for posting this. A full refund will not solve the issue. Please explain the 1+ million chips delivery that showed up in pictures from June? So, where did they end up?

batch 3? the amount was never 1+ million chips. if one 1+ million chips did show up in june, none of this would be happening and difficulty would NOT be this low, do some math.

also people seem to not make the connect to sudden raise of difficulty to us shipping batch 3 and bitfury's http://ghash.io pool coming online...

brb making refund form, I'm done with this.

It's about time! Please hurry so we can get BTC out of the hands of complete amatuer companies like Avalon so it can be put to better use by professional bitcoin mining hardware companies who know a thing or two about communication with customers and meeting self imposed deadlines!

If history is any indication, it will take weeks just to get the refunds out!

Personally but I was yifu, I'd take what profits were made off these chips and use those profits to either a. Return to customers with chips. B. Use profits from chips to compensate buyers with gen2 chips.  Break even restore their name and make all customers happy.  C. Refunds would be lastly considered after exhausting all ways to satisfy customer complaints by compensation.
I've worked in customer retention for 5+ years, this is standard business practice of fortune 500 companies, customers need to be satisfied or the company will go under.

Mark my words, if he proceeds with just refunds and not compensation, this is the end of Avalon, and other companies will move quicker to take its place.  Yifu needs to be very mindful of his actions.

It depends on how cheep their gen2 chips are. If they are cheap enough compared to the competition, people will be willing to take a risk and buy them since the reward will be higher. But it definitely means they'll have to charge far less then they otherwise would have.

You can see how the credibility they gained shipping B1 and B2 (plus the spike in bitcoin price) allowed them to charge more for B3.

Now that credibility is gone, and they'll have to go back to crazy cheap prices, even with chips on hand.

LOL - "pretty sure"

Is that a "I better go check what someone else said coz we better make sure our lies match up"

or

"I don't know what is going on ..." LOL

He's got his money, he doesn't care.  It is the end of Bitsyncom as a force in the Bitcoin / DIY community.  Avalon joins BFL in Bitcoin infamy...

The only thing Avalon can really do at this point is send chips AND refunds.

Sending out pure refunds isn't going to help that much because people have already ordered boards, etc.

Sending out chips won't help because the difficulty is through the roof and the chips aren't even worth what they paid for them.

The only way customers can hope to see all their btc is to send refunds, and chips, and hope that they'll be able to recoup the costs of the PCBs/Cases/etc through mining for a while.

On the other hand if they don't ship I guess my B2 will still be profitable for a while longer.
