I was a bit skeptical when Nitish Rana was announced as the captain of Kolkata Knight Riders. But without any doubt, he has done a splendid job so far. I am still concerned about their pace bowling. Lockie Ferguson and Umesh Yadav are very experienced pacers, but they are leaking tons of runs. I don't know why they are preferring Ferguson over Tim Southee, who is a much more disciplined bowler. They can also try Kulwant Khejroliya and Harshit Rana. These two are very promising young players. And there is always the reliable Vaibhav Arora, who performed really well during last season (for the Punjab Kings).

With 3 disappointing innings Harry Brook needed an innings like this to solidify his position in the team and that innings helped the team achieve a good total to defend against an in form KKR who has some power hitters down the order.

In two matches he scored 13 runs and against Lucknow Super Giants he scored 3 runs. Finally good performance have come from Brook. In the first two matches, he played at the middle order. For the last two matches he had been moved to the opening. Maybe this too could've helped him go for the big runs.

Everytime magic won't happen. In the previous match it was completely unexpected. This time the performance from Rinku Singh is really good and he did the best at the critical situation and took the match closer. As said, maybe the better runs at the start could've helped them win the match.

Amidst the wicket fall, Rana and Rinku Singh contributed good and if players have stood strong earlier this could've been a winning match for KKR. As said, rather than an one sided match, it went close which is really good. Anyhow KKR keeps to be on the top four position on points table.

Yes it was tough for KKR to cross the target of 228 runs and they lost the match by 205 for 23 runs. SHY's quality of play was very good. Because scoring 228 runs in just 20 over T20 matches means 11.4 runs per over and an average of 2 runs per ball. Such scores are rare. KKR run rate at 10.25 was not bad either. But they lost by few runs. Both teams played well. And both teams scored above 200 which is not bad in T20 match

Despite losing three top-order batsmen in the power play, the performance of the Kolkata team is truly commendable. Especially Rinku Singh is an excellent player. RInku's performance in the last two matches has impressed everyone. Team India is going to get a perfect finisher for the T20 format. Apart from Rinku, Nitish Rana performed well in this match. Honestly it's unfair to expect such miracles in every game. First of all this time it was a fairly long way to go they required more than 90 runs in last 5 overs which is too much. If KKR wanted to chase the target it should have been their openers that should have started the chase swiftly. Expecting only Nitish and Rinku to do the miracle is really too much to expect.
