Thats very important, very average team. With the team Dhoni have done the best. From the start, bit of popular ones were Dhoni, Jadeja, Moeen Ali, Conway. On the batting line-up nothing. Through the league few players were known to the cricketing world. From the very start to the end he hadn't made big changes to the playing Xl which too a big thing that brought him success. I thought gujarat titans will win this match very easily. The runs that gujarat titans batted first were the right runs to win. But I didn't expect gujarat titans to lose this match like this. Tears came to my eyes to see gujarat titans lose this way. Chennai Super Kings won by DLS method. If Chennai Super Kings had played 20 overs, I think they would not have won by any means.

The target set by Gujarat Titans was certainly a good scare. But if 20 overs game was played then the match could have changed a bit. However, Chennai Super Kings performed well from the first 12 overs but fell a few wickets in the last 3 overs and at that time Gujarat Titans managed to come back into the match as the last two balls of the last over were in favor of the batsmen resulting in two boundaries to seal the win favor of CSK. In yesterday's match, captain Dhani could not show his ability in batting but the team once again confirmed the IPL win.

In other words, CSK had to collect about 11.5 runs against Avar. This target was never going to be easy for CSK. But the batsmen of CSK batted brilliantly due to which they managed to win this match. And both teams had to wait till the last ball to confirm the result of this match.

Four runs were needed off the last ball, if a good delivery off the last ball, the result of this match would have gone in favor of Gujarat Titans.

Right off the bat, apologies for being a total n00b. Just curious about this bet I made on the CSK game:

I know it'll have been voided for good reason (and I'm not at all complaining as I think I actually lost the bet) but can anyone help me understand why?

CSK won, so that should have been fine. From the scorecard, I see CSK had 10 6s, vs 9. But GTs seemed to have scores way more 4s, so I should have lost that leg.

There's a lesson for team like GT to be learned from CSK's victory. I saw the interview you mentioned a long time ago. This video of him was uploaded on the IPL Twitter page. There he was probably asked about his last IPL but he smiled and replied that he has not announced anything about it now. Then the person who questioned MSD laughed and said maybe we can see Dhoni in IPL one more time for CSK. Till now there is no confirmed news about whether MS Dhoni will play one more season of IPL or retire this season. Thinking of Dhoni fans, maybe Dhoni can be seen in IPL for one more season

I'm not surprised by the performance and other things that happened with individual players as well as with the teams. I was quite surprised and happy to see how good is the progress of T20 scoring. What a difference, team scoring 200+ runs have got doubled from the previous season. This season of IPL have got 74 matches including the finals. Among that we were able watch good percentage of match having scores 200+ and the same being chased at several instances were really impressive.

Haha, I called it that Chennai Super Kings will win just to get a 5-5 draw with MI on this trophy count. The last 2 bowls were stupid and got the match to lose from Gujrat's hands. Mohit Sharma should have bowled a yorker on off-side, the most they could get was a 2 or a single. Yorker to leg is the easiest 4 runs for a batsmen. Poor performance by the bowling unit, could have stopped them much earlier. Dhoni got out at 0 was funny and sad at the same time.

Deshpande and Rashid Khan's one-match performance cannot be said to have bowled poorly.
Rashid Khan picked up several wickets along with economical bowling.
Deshpande though has been a bit expansive throughout the season but has picked up some crucial wickets at times of need for the team. These two bowlers were regular players of CSK if they had not performed well then the team would never have won the title.
