I'm suspect that they were pulled directly from a box.  There are auto forgeries all over the sport right now, with the card looking exact with the topps certified stamp and all.  Unless they are seen pulled from a topps box someone probably just trolling.  Or they generally bought them thinking they were real only to find out now they aren't.

Yeah we're these pulled directly from a box.  If not there are forgeries all over the place and isn't topps fault.  Would definitely like to hear if these actually were pulled directly from a box that someone can confirm.  If so this is beyond bad.  Maybe tag randy arozerena and see if just possibly he will respond.  My guess is second hand purchase on the old eBay.  Was it @chi?

Here’s the links to the twitter threads - https://twitter.com/spitballbros/status/1545060903158042626?s=21&t=gjp3CIMlJrwyVoh8atXQzg & https://twitter.com/spitballbros/status/1545072353909977089?s=21&t=gjp3CIMlJrwyVoh8atXQzg

The links to the threads shows the card a bit better as you can see. So you can see here it says on the card “Topps Certified Autograph Issue” which means of course they are stating that the cards came autographed directly from Topps.  Really fishy stuff.  I don’t think there’s any question as to whether these are forgeries or not.

EDIT: here’s another one a shop owner said one of his customers pulled - https://twitter.com/raw0526/status/1545065259559538688?s=21&t=dDbRCijxhoOl7mM9mfThFg

This is definitely really bad.

My buddy just sent this over to me and I wanted to see what you guys thought about it. I’m not sure if this was made before or after Fanatics bought Topps. Obviously not a very good look for Topps brand cards. Not a fan of Fanatics myself, so them buying Topps was crappy news for me personally.

anticlockwise downwards and upwards open circle arrows emojis

something like that could collapse the whole company where trust is so important.  only excuse is if this is a total forgery from a third party.  i bet that is the case.

Most likely not.  Probably just a card hawker.  People will buy anything that sells whether they are a corner or not.  So probably just another flipper.

Thanks!

If memory serves I think a Xbox sold for $20k a month or two back.  Was listed for a day or two and then disappeared. Maybe you can check somehow, my ebay-fu is weak.

Ebay's Terapeak (seller research) (and 130point.com - although a shorter timeframe/lookback) are able to show actual sold prices on best offers.
There were 3 X boxes sold since November, each originally listed at $20K, but actually sold for $12,625 (1/11/22), $12,500 (11/27/21), and $15,000 (11/10/21).
The $15,000 seems to be the highest price going back into 2020.

Hope that helps!
Brian

**FYI    Cheesy

PSA now has a $150 submission fee. For that tier, it's supposed to be a 2 month turnaround time....look for them in 30 days or so.
PSA now has a $100 submission fee. For that tier, it's supposed to be a 40-60 day turnaround time....look for them in 2 weeks or so.
PSA has been running $50 submission fee specials, off and on. It's suspected that the $50 submission fee might get ushered into reality, in the short term.

Stacy - Any chance you kept tabs on the packs/boxes?  That's been my focus so I have a nice set now.

Notable Sale

PSA 10 Topps 2018 A&G Cryptocurrency Base Card - $675 (down from the heyday when they went for 1,100, but fair price)

Even with 1000 PSA 10 base cards, there won't be enough to go around for all the crypto and nft enthusiasts.  Having this dichotomy between common cards and rare ones is a long time coming.  Still a long way to go as regular and a&g back minis are getting no love in pricing.
