Problems with Intersango today. Trading has been halted and some bitcoind issues also. I would like to know what is going on.
... and something is making bitcoind perform badly, according to phantomcircuit in #intersango.

I have an idea what that could be. Oh, have I mentioned phantomcircuit still owes me 50.5 BTC? So you won't forget I'll come asking for it here every week now.

FUDDING is other people's threads is not the way to get taken seriously. Plus making childish statements mixing up unrelated issues just demonstrates the level of intellect you're currently displaying. So you got fucked hard by Bitcoinica get over it and think before depositing on something built by a 17yearold snotnose. Yes these guys were in the process of getting on the bus when this happened but they weren't driving yet.

They were driving carelessly on a bus owned by the passengers for more than two months. Then, they totaled it several times so severely even the last passenger asks himself if the driver owns a driving license. Now everyone is injured and the bus is broken but we have to listen to the driver screaming at us to demand a little respect?
Go on, take another bus. It's the same driver and "security" expert. All I'm saying.

I will not get over "it" as if it was just an inconvenience. These guys have already made such a joke of themselves so you think I really care about being taken seriously? It doesn't matter anymore to me. I just want Intersango to go to the shitter now. But good luck to you.

A bad order wedged the trading engine and something is making bitcoind perform badly, according to phantomcircuit in #intersango.

You have seen the warnings, haven't you? Have you read the past two pages of this thread?

I've been following all this very closely, yes, and I'm well aware of the risks.

Have very little pity if you lose all your money.

Thanks, I'll keep that in mind when it comes time to ask for pity Smiley

Me too, my trading bot is going nuts.  Of course I can place orders, but none of them get executed.  And bitcoin transfers are down.

It's a shame but I guess now is a bad time to put any coins on Intersango....

That leaves me with the only other GBP exchange AFAIK - MtGox... (the best of two evils?)

Or maybe it is a good time as any to trade at Intersango. Bitcoinica LTD still owes me 50.5 bitcoins. Maybe another hacker takes them from Intersango's customers account and magically transfers them to Bitcoinca's customer compensation account at MtGox? With the unbelievable shit that has gone down lately, everything is possible. And when I say unbelievable, I mean I really do not believe this story.

There must be a third option :/
You can always wire your pounds to bitcoin-central and trade the euro market Smiley

I want to sell coins and get GBP, and AFAIK wire transfers carry a hefty fee in comparison to the amount i'm trading.

Thanks for the extensive post. It was nice of you. I knew about these, but I'd still like to see what the Intersango guys now have to say about the Intersango exchange.

wget --no-check-certificate https://intersango.com/api/ticker.php?currency_pair_id=3 returns

Code:
{"last":"7.77700","vol":"395.76003","buy":"7.65000","sell":"7.76922"}

How do I get 'high', 'low' and 'avg' ?

I've looked around at your Api documentation page ( https://intersango.com/api.php), but couldn't seem to find the answer to this.

And why is https://bitcoinconsultancy.com/wiki/Intersango/API linked from https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/Intersango/API unavailable ? It seems like bitcoinconsultancy.com have been down (http://www.downforeveryoneorjustme.com/bitcoinconsultancy.com) for a while.

What's the reason for the downtime of this site, is it gone for good ?

Should customers of Intersango be worried at this point ?

Thanks.

It's pretty rare for the bitcoind process to exit, rather what tends to happen is the RPC thread deadlocks.

Detecting that with anything but a custom script is nearly impossible and typically would require writing a small script anyways.
Never experienced that, even on Instawallet's bitcoind, and this one handles some decent load Smiley

Are there any concerns transferring to Dwolla from Intersango? Apparantly MtGox thinks there is a risk (https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.997245), is there a similar concern at Intersango? Everything I've seen is very professional, but I think it's worth asking since they handle a lot of money also. I certainly hope that the withdrawals to Dwolla will continue being quick, and there isn't a multiday backup like through MtGox.

There is actually a script written for just this purpose
Reinventing the wheel ?
