I think this is post # 3?

I dislike Newbie status.

I really dislike the spammers/trolls who made it necessary.

I'm Lorna.

I'm a model and photographer. I live in South Wales UK and run a website, two businesses and a family.

My programmer introduced me to this new currency. I'm game so I added a "join with bitcoin" option to my site.

If anyone has a comment about the way the button works or if there's something I can improve love to know Smiley

I do not know how much you care or not, but one of your affiliates had a forced window take me to Webring.org

If you want to get Bitcoin customers, I highly suggest having a visible Bitcoin logo somewhere on that front page.  I would argue a good time right now is to put things next to the Twitter, Facebook, other social sites (not just you, but all non e-commerce sites).  Seeing as how you are kind of e-commerce, you really should have that icon/logo in at least two spots.

I understand you would think "eh.. I want to take Bitcoin, but I do not want to support it".. but I would go the route of having that as a focal point for a couple of weeks or a month.  Have it in the site prominent, I almost guarantee if you give it a little bit of time, the right people who are into Bitcoin will take notice and support.  Good luck, you look amazing Smiley

hi,

I use my first post in this forum to announce a new pool:

http://www.btcmp.com

So if you have alot of trouble or invalid shares with the big pools, give us a try. you could also
use us as backup pool to see how we perform actually.

Been bitcoining since April, just not posting on the forums much. I tried a little bitcoin gambling early, lost like 3 coins total back when they were around $1 each, boy do I regret that now.

Getting some posts in so I can answer questions in other forums.  Grin

Pretty new to this stuff, but looking for ways I can incorporate this into my daily life. I'm running servers 24/7 so getting into some mining as well, even if it's small and maybe not worth it yet.

Hi, I'm Morten from Norway, really excited by this bitcoin thing, even though it's a bit of a hassle to buy any as a newbie living outside the US ;-)

Euro bank wire from a European bank is one of the easier routes for funding an account -- even for a Canadian...  Shocked

I don't know, I initiated a bank transfer to TradeHill last week, and still no money in my account... :-(

I'm a computer technician by trade and a full time web developer/designer by night. Completely new to bitcoin and completely enthralled by the possibilities of a decentralized currency. Started a bank account this week simply to tie to Dwolla for the sole purpose of handling bitcoins. I really wish I would have become more vested in it when I first heard about it.

I think I've been on here a couple+ weeks now and after hours of reading forum threads (Diablo and Hashkill mostly) I find it odd that I see no mention of running either of these on #! (CrunchBang Linux).  It seems such an obvious choice for a dedicated cruncher of any type.

I was actually well down the road of converting my Ubuntu and Xubuntu dedicated BOINC crunchers to #! when #3 son got me interested in mining.  So other than one hold out (because I'm too lazy to redo software raid, samba, dhcp3-server, apt-cacher and ntp functions) that still runs Xubuntu all my 'crunchers' now run #!.  They all run BOINC on the CPU cores/threads and Diablo on the GPU(s).  Amazingly easy to build bitminer functions into the OpenBox menu (start Diablo, start AMDOverdriveCtl, start my GPU activity script, setfans, etc. etc.).  It's a whole lot lighter than Ubuntu (actually using PinguyOS on my desktop for now), is a fast install, Debian based so no quantum leaps for relative noobs (like me) that are use to Ubuntu.

BTW, If anyone gives it a try... I've had no luck with the optional liquorx kernal and so don't select that in the first logon/post install script that runs (and lets u bypass openoffice and cups, yeah!).

Happy mining, Skip
