It's getting ridiculous here. People are now investing just because of the hype or just from watching the scores given by Icobench, ICOratings etc.

You're doing it wrong. You should look at the team and the experience they have, whether this project exists already (e.g we have Monaco, TenX, Centra, MoxyOne and many others) and none of them actually delivered 100% what they promised etc. so unless you really see the potentials on the project, you really shouldn't invest. Ignore the moon bullshit they are trying to feed you.

This is valid for both bounty hunters (because they are wasting their time) and ICO participants (wasting money).
Yes, I completely agree with you, there are people who do not study at all trusting scammers or false information that are not verified.

But most of the time, because investing in ICO requires some professional knowledge.
So the average person can't identify this information, and their only channel is the objective ICO review site. Smiley

Before investing we should allocate some time to do research to study the market and understand the projects because being knowledgeable in the project make us a chance to earn a big profit.

For me personally, all these ratings on thematic sites don't carry any useful information. You should always check by yourself all the necessary information about the company you invest in.

I do look at them when I see an interesting ICO, before reading the whitepaper. At least it gives you a general idea what the ICO is about and what it's capable of. Plus, I'm never familiar with the names they put forward in the 'about us' section of their pages hence it's pretty helpful.
Yes, ICO ratings are useful only for obtaining general information about ICO. It is necessary to spend additional time in order to obtain additional information about the project and to accept the decision to invest in the project.

Investing in any given opportunity  requires a critical decision making process, ratings given by any third party should not be the yardstick to invest without personal due diligence into a project to be invested.

I agree we should be wisely by choosing an ico many ico project but not all are promising and some of them are scams and we can't define if what ico will give us profit it's too hard to find a good ico even if the project is good however some of them are still failed. so we should have a further research to not wasting our time, money and efforts.

Just follow a data driven approach for investing which is unbiased and without emotions. Try to find patterns and reduce not measurable factors.
I made an analysis of ico returns for example which shows what kind of ico segements are more interesting and which you should try to avoid.

Would be interesting to hear your feedback!

To invest, one has to learn how to independently analyze the prospects of projects. If person will trust only other people's opinions, then most likely he will lose his money.

I always at first helped ratings sites icobench and icoratings. But they only help with the initial choice, then you need to study the information about the project yourself.

Of course when many people now select because of the hype not because it is the best, they both forgot about research. For me, I always remind myself that never be fooled by those ICO projects in spite of promising profit. Investing always is required a high experience and knowledge in order to lead everyone to succeed.  Roll Eyes

This is one of the worst things that are happening in the market right now. There are so many newbies in the market and none of them bother to do any research into the coins that they are investing in and they are doing so simply for the hype. Once they see a coin being hyped by a lot of people, they start to think that it is the best project and put money in it. this is why so many people still get scammed.

What do you think make the project potential?
I always look at the main idea and read whitepaper. What else shall we do?

You had a good point. You warn us on this thread and thank you, Because a lot of ICO was so attracted like what you said scores on ICOratings, But that is not really based to known if an ICO is a good investment. I based on their project if their project is so famous many followers and liker, Long term investment and also many more upcoming meetings on the different countries.

I am absolutely agree with this statement . As for bounty hunters there are plenty of failed projects. Repux didn't payed out the same amount as they claimed, Livestars payed 4 times less, a lot of scam as well. Nowadays we should select projects deliberately

Yes you're right. Most of the people are only investing because of the hype. They are not reviewing whether the project is really good. They are also not checking the team members, what they achieved, where they came from, and who they really are. They're only relying on the hypes. What they should really do is to study first the project before investing on it.

the first thing that you need to think before invest determines how much money you want to invest, then choose the coin or the ico you want to invest, make research for the coin or the ico, find as much information as you can before you decide. after that, you can directly to buy the coin or the ico, if you decide to buy the coin, make sure that you don't buy instantly and make 2-3 order buy. and if you want to buy the ico, make sure that you can buy the token at presale because you can buy at the cheap price and sometimes you can get more bonuses. maybe there are other things that you might want to think before invest and different as I am saying and I hope that you can invest wisely like other members said.
