i am a newbie in bitcoin, and i plan to buy bitcoin,, and will invest in bitcoin, and i want to ask everyone? if investing in bitcoin is it better short term or long term??? but in my opinion, long-term investment is better, but what do you think?
All kind of crypto currency investment should be long term, unless you are investing in some coins that are trending or is being hyped. If those are the coins, then invest, make profit and sell quickly before the hype ends or else you will make some huge losses. But if it is bitcoin, then invest, keep holding, when the price drops, invest more to hold long term, when the price reaches your profit goal, sell it and enjoy your profit. Look at the charts. Zoom out and you will see that bitcoin is always profitable in the long run.

(not financial advice)

I think everyone has their own needs but you must be able to manage your finances first before actually buying and investing in bitcoin for the long term. many people sell bitcoins that they buy before the price really goes up (profit) just because of an urgent need.

group your income and also your investments well, Bitcoin is highly recommended for long-term investments, so don't mess it up.

Long term my answer.

The thing you need to ask is for what you choose Bitcoin as an investment. When your answer is final, then you must be ready to experience various misguided information out there that will make your faith shake.

To convince yourself in choosing long -term investment is to look at Bitcoin historical data.

i am a newbie in bitcoin, and i plan to buy bitcoin,,
I thought you already did?
around 2020. and at that time the price of btc had gone up, but even though the price had gone up, I still bought it because I saw good potential for the future..

Are you trying make people fool just to ask newbie questions, for what? merit? Repeated shitty discussion? Lol. You still "newbie to bitcoin" yet you already did discuss lots of time regarding bitcoin even investing on it.

For me personally, I still feel like a beginner, because in terms of my ability I am not yet reliable, even though I often buy bitcoins as you mean, and with the aim of posting that because I have new capital to invest in bitcoin. so it doesn't mean i never buy bitcoin. but just asking everyone, about short term and long term investment.

Whatever happens, don't think about short-term investments. Anyway, the logic of the word investment, in my opinion, requires it to be for a long time. You should think this way not only for bitcoin, but also for other coins. In fact, not only for crypto coins, you should make all your other investments according to this logic. Take the amount you can out of sight from the money in your safe and completely forget about it after investing. You will have achieved good results in the future  Wink
Bitcoin is a good investment for long term and nothing else.
(....)
It still depends, when you say long term, how long it is, how many years/months?
There are also some people who are just lucky when they start to invest with Bitcoin and Bitcoin started to pump, they don't wait such a long time and they decided to take profits. But it still depends. I am not telling long term is not good, because that is what I am doing now. I'm a long term believer and investor of Bitcoin.

For me yeah long term hodling is the most effective way when it comes to newbies though some pro's did it too but it is the matter of choice whether or not you do it short. If your investment in crypto is just your extra money then I highly recommend to forget it and leave it for years. A lot of people in the crytocurrency community had experienced this what we called "regret" when they have some good crypto before just like Bitcoin and spent it after a few days or months after they bought it or mined it.

It needs to be done on the market situation. If the market has made a transition from the bearish trend to bull market, then it is good to spend for short term profiting. If not the focus should be on long term holding.

At times we guess the market to make a big pump even after its high price for the time period. In such situation, we've missed the opportunity and the next choice is to hold long term. Here we don't know how long we need to hold.

Some used to get into trading to increase the portfolio holding, than just keeping the funds idle in a wallet. This way of investment is good, but it have got risk. Close observation over the market is a must in such investment.

Bitcoin is a good investment for long term and nothing else.

Bitcoin halving that has a four year cycle is the reason why Bitcoin has a bull run every four years and it's not just the hype that makes the market go on bull run but it has something to do with the supply of Bitcoin that's why it's a good investment for long term. Unlike any other altcoins most of them are following the trend of Bitcoin. If you do the short term investment make sure you know what you are doing because it's like trading but the profit is not that great.

Many newbie investors F* up last year but I've seen that the majority of them didn't say that they were going out. But instead, they've learned and studied the history of its charts looking at how it looked like during the bear cycle and how it's looking back during the bull run and after its recovery.
The thought of being short term is what mostly newbies have and think that it's easy to get in and get out and just take away the cash, but that's all a lie and you'll enjoy more as you get hooked with investing into bitcoin.

Yes, I think I'm still a beginner in bitcoin, especially in science, because lately I've been trading bitcoin for the short term, but always losing, so finally I decided to invest in bitcoin for the long term.
There is a reason why the term HODL is one of the most popular in cryptocurrency. Its one way with minimal risk to make the most returns on your cryptocurrency. It's become traditional  and all you've got to do is have the funds for a start up and have some patience. Patience is what makes most users fail in cryptocurrency as, they don't have what it takes to go on a short term but still are too hasty to source for profit in short terms investment.
There is a risk in quick money and even worst still when you swim alongside professionals with many years of experience. Go long.

Stick on what you do prefer and dont tend to listen out other peoples perspective since we do have our own different liking and interest on dealing with Bitcoin price. If you do go for long term then go ahead but cant just deny that there are people who do deal up with short term duration which does simply means that it would be ending up on preference.
Not all people would really be that good when it comes on playing towards Bitcoins price volatility. So if you do see that it would be good for long term then go ahead,
but if you do find out that its a bit boring then its not bad to make up some changes.

We aren't your financial advisor at all, so we may just express your opinion. We can't advise you what should you do at all. Pro traders don't just hold, they take advantage of the volatile. It's called middle time hold actually between short terms and long time hold. Short time means just getting out when you have some profits. Midterms mean you have a good profit and you want to take advantage of the volatility and buyback again. Long terms mean just leave it till a notable amount of profits. Since you are a newbie, then better hold for the long term and learn more about it. So you might take some advantage later on.

I supposed you never know well about bitcoin because you are not sure yet as it is for long term or short term investment. You can always accumulate more knowledge first and always DYOR so you will always be guided. However, for me it’s best to invest bitcoin for long term because history proves it, and because it’s value will keep on growing every year that comes.

Long term investment will always be better than short term even if you go for established altcoins in the market. That way, you won’t be affected with price fluctuations because you have set your long term goal, and you only have to sell not in the start, not at the middle, but definitely when your investment is at its highest peak. And the best way to achieve it is through with bitcoin.

Before you invest in bitcoin, you must have had a long-term purpose for your investment. Which every crypto investor normally has a target price for his/her investment. Your target price can take years before it hits the price you want it to be.

So, the question now remains what's your target price for hodling bitcoin for so long? Are you ready to hodling bitcoin for so long or not? before it gets to your dream price. I think you will be in a better position to answer how long you are to wait
I think the goal is important how long we do it and of course long-term investments take a long time as well as the desired target price, for example I myself plan for 5 years or more, the target price is still not fixed because I know bitcoin is very volatile it could be 100k or 200k in the next 5 years but I have confidence that bitcoin is always increasing so I use it now to buy more bitcoins when the market is still bearish.

If they have a higher target price for example 100k then have to be prepared to wait longer because we don't know how many years it will reach 100k so if you have high dreams with bitcoin in the future then we are now more focused on holding bitcoin.

Specifically for Bitcoin: Unless you know trading, long-term. Investment in bitcoin should also not be done in just one big chunk instead make a habit of averaging out your deposits on every dip. This way you get the overall asset at a better average price. People who bought everything on the tops of 50 and 60 are still regretting but yes at the current price it might still look tempting to do investment in one shot. So consider this as well.

General Investment Advice: Invest based on your needs and aspiration. Everyone when he invests has a goal or vision in mind so invest according to that vision and the horizon of your aspiration. That will be a better plan than investing merely based on the asset.

No one knows what will happen in the future, but during the current or next year it will be a golden opportunity to buy bitcoin at a low price, and therefore keeping bitcoin for 3 years will be very profitable.
If it's based on past history, then it's definitely profitable but about the future it's a hope that might not be certain. As you said, No one knows what will happen in the future. So therefore, everyone who wants to invest should first consider the risk for the amount of money can afford to lose because the first point is that no one knows the future even if we are absolutely sure that there is good potential for repeat.

It all depends on how much you invested, the amount for each month, and the return on it.
The percentage is the same, but the size of the profit depends on how much funds the OP has.

The truth is that I am not very expert in investment, I do not even know many things, but I can assure you of one thing, that if you buy Bitcoin right now it is the best thing you can do in your life, what I want to tell you is, that if you love yourself yourself, you should buy bitcoin if you have the economic means, because it will be the investment of your life and your early retirement ´because there will be no other asset that rises as much as Bitcoin, I do not think that bitcoin will die, people already they ask how to get the bticoin, why it seems so expensive to them and a person who doesn't know much, is going to say, if it was at $20k and then at $70k it will surely go up to $150k and then it will continue, it is the best investment-savings that can be do.

Investing in general (not only with bitcoin) should mostly be long term. If you're going to do short term, then you're pretty much trading not investing.

EDIT: you've already made 232 posts in total and somewhat you're still a "newbie in bitcoin"?
There’s a difference with that. And most probably, if you aim for bigger profits not only in crypto but in all sources of investments, you should be ready to invest in it for long term. Although some may still get decent profits in just a short term duration, but it’s rare to happen. Most of the successful  investors have definitely invest and hold for long term, because they have set long term goals from the start that made them unbothered when the price suddenly crash or move sideways.
