i am a newbie in bitcoin, and i plan to buy bitcoin,, and will invest in bitcoin, and i want to ask everyone? if investing in bitcoin is it better short term or long term??? but in my opinion, long-term investment is better, but what do you think?

If you look at the full history of bitcoin you will see its development in the long term, I think you will find the answer without the advice of others. It doesn't matter if you are a new or old investor, but before investing always do your own research and analysis, don't invest according to anyone's advice because we are all different in mindset and life circumstances.

Bitcoin is a diversified form of investment, it can generate profits in the short term by trading and can also be held for a long time for profit. Set yourself a plan and goals that fit your finances.

No one knows what will happen in the future, but during the current or next year it will be a golden opportunity to buy bitcoin at a low price, and therefore keeping bitcoin for 3 years will be very profitable.
It all depends on how much you invested, the amount for each month, and the return on it.

All forms of investment are good for the long term, including cryptocurrencies, especially in bitcoin because of its proven track record of generating significant returns over the long term.
and my advice is to do DCA because the idea behind DCA is to buy consistently regardless of whether the market is going up or down due to fluctuations and
DCA will help you disciplined to buy more bitcoins when the price is down and less when the price is going up. And this will make it easier for you to make investment decisions and avoid emotional decisions.
Buying within your means with money you can afford to lose and doing it consistently is the most appropriate strategy for novice investors, the longer you invest, the greater the amount of money you will save with more optimal returns.
and you don't need to rush to get rich, because investing does take time to show results even up to 10 years.
and the investment decisions you make today will have a big impact if done regularly and consistently over the long term.

Always go for the long term, I don't know, but even if in real life, like investing in businesses or another form of investment, the best result is in long-term investment. Just imagine you bought bitcoin last 2010, went short-term, sold it all in 2011, and gained profit, right? But what if you go long-term and sell it at today's price? Then, sure, the results are far better than short term. But you are still depending on you if what you prefer most since it's your choice. We are just giving opinions here, but our opinions are what most of us have experienced.

I've never used bitcoin because I'm a beginner in crypto and bitcoin. so for now I just continue to save bitcoins because I think bitcoin in the future the price will be very much high,
good luck with your investment. indeed investing in bitcoin is very popular with many people including me too. because bitcoin has high potential and my prediction of bitcoin in the future will be very far in price, and I also have bitcoin and I haven't sold it because I will use it for future investments.

I am always interested in such banal topics that you involuntarily begin to think that the creator survived the lobotomy operation. OP, what happened to your previously purchased bitcoins? Why don't many of the newbies realize that their post history is visible to the community? And the illogicality of the posts makes you understand why another empty topic is being created.
OP, do you really not understand the answer to your question, or is it not you who have been repeating for three months about the value of investing in bitcoin?

If you're pretty new at it then long-term. Try to study what trading is and the pros and cons of doing it before deciding whether to convert to short-term or not (or you can honestly do both). We're down pretty big right now so it's pretty perfect for an entry toward investments in the long term as well. I don't think there's a "better" option between the two tbh, it's just a matter of what you prefer and what you can and can't do. I gave up on trading since it wasn't really for me so I just went about to doing DCA.

Well it is called "investment" anyway so I think that pretty much sums up what you're asking. I had sold some of my old investment but then whenever bearish season arrives, I am going to buy back that sold investment to invest another in the long term.

Might be hard to do it, but as long as you're willing to lose what you need invested, you would be fine.

Bitcoin To The Moon 📈📈📈
The prospect of investing in Bitcoin is long term I have seen history before showing that the long term will be better than the short term, and we know investing in the designation for a long time so that it will produce good profits.

As a beginner you have to plan carefully and target how many years to invest in bitcoin, for example 3 or 5 years, but in my opinion the longer you hold bitcoin, the greater the opportunity, so investing in bitcoin is the best way for you to choose.

Of course you have to be mentally strong during your investment because the bitcoin market has high volatility, sometimes the market crashes which makes us tired of waiting so we can't survive all that way, but I hope you can understand bitcoin and the market so that it won't cause your decline from bitcoin investment.

Long-term meaning 3 years? 5 years? 10 years? because different time frame = different strategies for me.

Bitcoin moves in cycles, and you can see it in its history. Bitcoin tends to make a bull run every after 4 years and then will enter the bear market. It happened in 2017-2018 where Bitcoin rallied as high as ~$20,000, but the year after was the year of hell where Bitcoin went from its ATH down to near the ~$3,000 price. Same with what's happening right now. Bitcoin rallied last November of 2021 to as high as ~$69,000 and now it's currently moving sideways at around the ~$18,000 - ~$25,000 price range.

In general, long-term investing is better and it's less stressful to many including me so I'd suggest you go long term but you're a newbie like you said so maybe it would be better to at least watch some videos and equip yourself with information so that you'll be ready if the worst thing comes. Maybe I'll consider taking profit every bull run and re-invest it when the bear market starts.

What if you invest in bitcoin until the price increases or reaches a new ATH to sell the bitcoin at a high price and make a big profit.
It makes more sense to do that than not knowing when to sell your bitcoins.
And if you do that, in addition to making a big profit, you will also have a lot of money that you can use to buy more bitcoins when the price drops.
After reaching a new ATH, the price will drop drastically and that's when you can buy bitcoins again.

Short term investment makes sense when the market is bullish - it's likely to crash, possibly below your entry price, so it's better to take a profit while you can, instead of having an unrealized loss. But when the market is bearish, like it is right now, it's better to plan for a long term investment, you should buy and wait, without worrying about the price, for the next bull market. Short term trading in bear market is more risky, because the market often goes sideways, there's a lot of bull and bear traps.

Bitcoin is GOD

Do whatever works for you since both can be profitable with the right skills, it is just that I really think it is easier to acquire the skills necessary to become profitable over the long term, as long as you are patient and you actually believe in the long term potential of bitcoin and you are not only interested in making money.

Now it is also possible to make short term profits too, but this requires to train yourself on the ability to trade the markets and to keep yourself calm after several losses in a row, if you can do this technically you could obtain more profits trading than by investing, but the number of people which can actually do something like this is many times smaller than those which can hold their coins for the long term and obtain profits this way.

true investment has a different plan for everyone. but if you look at how bitcoin moves in the market. we can see how bitcoin is the right asset for us to invest in the long term.
Some people don't like long-term investments. so they will make a bitcoin trading plan for the short term.
but I personally, a person who is not very good at trading, would prefer long-term investment. I'm sure it's more profitable even though it should take a relatively long time.

For sure long term investment is better option for bitcoin investment as you can see people who have invested and hold it for more then 4-5 years are always in profit. It would be beneficial as a newbie to invest without looking for the charts and all that panic due to volatility so say invest for long term only in my suggestion. If you invest at $20k also then after 5 years at most you will be in a profitable situation so best is go with this option.

For a newbie Yes particularly those who bought at the top like $69K. But even those who bought at $18k could sell after 3-4years but most importantly sell when they know they have profited. It's easy to trade in short-term when there is a bull run which a newbie can try buying back every dip.

If you invest for long term but you keep watching the market, you might have to do it short term too. Be a day trader. Watching prices is addictive.

The only thing you need to do is to look at the history, the charts show that bitcoin is the only cryptocurrency that has gone up and stayed up in the long run. For example other altcoins like ethereum went up against bitcoin (to 0.15) then got dumped and never went back up again.

Additionally try to think of bitcoin as a currency not an investment. As a currency you can use it for payment and both send and receive money. Even earn money using bitcoin. That way you maximize the benefits you are getting from bitcoin.

Investing in general (not only with bitcoin) should mostly be long term. If you're going to do short term, then you're pretty much trading not investing.

EDIT: you've already made 232 posts in total and somewhat you're still a "newbie in bitcoin"?

Here I will show you about Bitcoinn chart since 2013, what do you think? it's obvious long term prospect is far better than short term!

Imagine you bought Bitcoin on 2013 for $100 per each coin and then hold it for 8 years and sell it for $69,000 per each coin, you will earn huge money! if you're bought Bitcoin on 2013 and sell it after few months since Bitcoin price already increase for 20%, you're only earn $20 and it's just small profit.

Hello! Welcome! Have you already made yourself familiar with Bitcoin's overall price history? Have you been observing its daily, weekly, and monthly price changes?

If yes to both, I suppose you've already noticed how Bitcoin's price has risen from less than a cent to almost $70,000. But that was almost a year ago. 6 months ago, the price was already at $40,000. Today, the price is only around $20,000. However, the projection in 2-3 years from now is that it will reach at least $100,000.

With this, I'd say it is better to focus on the long-term. Its volatility and extreme price fluctuations are happening in the short-term. Although you can earn from those, it is risky and hard to predict and probably stressful, too. The long-term option is the safer choice.

How long is long? Multi year investments are generally a good idea based on the past (everyone who's held for more than 4 years so far has made a profit afaik).

If you plan to invest for only a year or less, you'll probably be disappointed and might just be back at these price levels this time next year. If you plan to hold for 2 years, there's a much better chance you'll have made a return on your investment.

With that being said, there might be fewer security concerns related to shorter term trading (protocol related issues cryptos - especially new ones - might undergo). You're shielded a lot from these with bitcoin but it's always a bad idea to sell flash crashes if something does come up as the markets here often overreact.
