Official Announcement

We are releasing POS I/O with Protocol V.3 and our HTML5 Wallet This Week.

There will be a surprise with it.

Stay tuned

Hopefully people will have some sort of understanding of the big leap forward V.3 is for POS and I/Ocoin.  Not only that, people should be very happy with the new HTML5 wallet.  It clearly shows the top class skills of the developers behind this coin.

Also, i am still utterly shocked we only have 93 users of IONS.    It seems people like to be able to send and receive coins the old way, having long and very hard to remember addresses, made up of Lower-case, Upper-case letter and numbers.

#IONS is one of the very best features ever made in #crypto !  We need more people to use it, then they would see for themselves.

Also, please remember to stake your #iocoin wallets!   Its very easy to do. See this video showing exactly how easy it is and showing exactly how easy it is to pay someone who has a IONS username.

I/Ocoin is the best #investment a #trader can make right now.

I/O Coin

The New POS I/O Protocol V 3.0

Introduction
whitepaper

Abstract

Make time required for generation of new blocks dependent on the number of transactions. Implement deflation mechanism to mitigate market volume volatility.

Motivation

Several problems that are observed in I/Ocoin and other digital currencies (including Bitcoin) could be solved, by using awaited transactions dependent on block time:

1. Abruptly decreasing mint-rates.
2. Occasional block time lag.
3. inflationary money supply that is independent of market demand.
4. Impossibility of early taking money from the minting deposit.

Specification

1. Difficulty target of minting block depends on transactions fee for this block exponentially with a minimal limit.
2. Transactions fee eliminated from rewards.
3. New type of blocks starts at block height 100 000.

Backward compatibility

Older clients need mandatory update.

Discussions

The mechanism of mitigating the difficulty barrier has both pros and cons. The primary advantage is the ability of the network to speed up desirable transactions. The primary disadvantage is the dangers of double spend attacks. Another possible attack is an attempt of a selfish node attempting to gain an unfair advantage in minting. The here proposed mechanism retains all the advantages and eliminates the disadvantages. In this system users can speed up their transactions not only by increasing the fee by promotion in order, but also by decreasing block time. A double spend attack in this system becomes too expensive. In addition an attempt to get unfair advantage becomes also increasingly expensive. This is an advantage: now any node can speed up PoS-minting by destruction fee (and loss of profit) in a private (not sent to network, until stacked into the block) transaction. Currently PoS-coins are inflationary. The proposed improvement allows a market-based mechanism of volume control.

In this new system we have two concurrent processes: inflation of coin volume by minting and deflation of coin volume by destruction of fees. When the volume becomes insufficient to ensure the demands on the market, each coin and accordingly each transaction fee become more expensive. Transactions rates and eventually coin destruction rates decrease, and full volume increases. In the opposite circumstance transaction rates and eventually coin destruction rates increase and full volume deflates further.

Proposed Implementation

Block height 100k

Big News! September 17th

POS 3 WhitePaper will be released on Friday. We Will be the only Pos coin with POS 3. Implementation to come with HTML5 Wallet.

I've seen several other coins claiming to have HTML 5 wallets now.  What is POS 3 suppose to bring to the table?

Is a significant update to the code, whitepaper will be out friday.

POS Explained: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Proof-of-stake

"#Peercoin's proof-of-stake system is based around the concept of "coin age", a number obtained from the product of the currency amount held times the amount of time it has been held for. When generating a proof-of-stake block, the user sends some money to themselves, consuming their coin age in exchange for a preset reward. This minting transaction becomes more likely to succeed over time until a valid block is found, generating a new block on the blockchain and a payout for the proving user.[2][3][4] This process secures the network and gradually produces new coins over time without consuming significant computational power.[5]

Both proof-of-work and proof-of-stake blocks are used in Peercoin, although the main #blockchain is determined by the highest total consumed coin age (from proof-of-stake generation) instead of the total combined difficulty of the chain (determined by proof-of-work blocks, as in Bitcoin). Peercoin's developer claims that this makes a malicious attack on the network more difficult.[2][6]

The first 100% proof-of-stake system was #NXT ."

Also READ: https://cryptocointalk.com/topic/700-proof-of-stake-explained-rough-draft/

AND: http://bitcoinmagazine.com/6528/what-proof-of-stake-is-and-why-it-matters/

Now hopefully fellow #iocoin users here and investors of other POS coins can understand much better the significance of POS and importantly, why it is VITAL to keeping improving it.

SO......

Proof Of Stake is also the process that works out 'minting' which we all know as the small amount of interest that you get by staking your wallet.

Staking your wallet is very important, because you help support the network.

What POS 3 will bring to the table is further improved security to the block chain, which should help almost banish (i say almost as nothing is impossible) 51% attacks and 'Double Spending'.

It is a FIRST in crypto, yet again, #iocoin is leading the way in innovations, many people will not and do not understand POS, but it is the lifeline of the #crypto coin.  It is more important, than any fancy feature you cna think of, without a solid POS, the coin will fail.

POS 3. Is quite groundbreaking in the way it solves the problems faced by ALL other POS coins that do not have POS 3.

Further more, it takes a highly skilled Developer to create a new POS system. Needless to say #I/Ocoin has some of the best developers in the business.

Just because they are not rated by #cryptoasian  and as they can not be public, people will just have to use common sense and only need to look  at what I/Ocoin has developed in quite a short time, to see they are as good as we say.

And just for the record, most of those 'public Devs' are hiding behind fake profiles, so take that POS rating system with a pinch of salt.

Regarding the HTML5 wallet.  There is a reason no-one has done it before, again it takes TOP CLASS DEVELOPERS to create a new desktop wallet not based on the old QT client.  Again, we are close to releasing this, as our loyal followers will see.  Others coins talk the talk, but only #iocoin walks the walk!

This coin wants to grow to be a 'real world coin', one that has some real usability and adoption among merchants.  Here's a suggestion...

Take a look at the Square or Paypals mobile credit card payment systems and build a system similar to that for IO.  Give IO's mobile wallet a way to create an invoice, add tax, send receipts via email or text,  let seller send invoices straight to the customer's wallet and have the wallet store receipts, label purchases and offer data in a usable form for taxes (tax write-offs like gas, office supplies, hotels, travel expense, etc).

Basically, build it for businesses and not just customers.  Businesses will need these tools to really make adoption easier.

I could not agree more! That's exactly what I/Ocoin is working on.  The ability to be able to create Invoices, add tax and send receipts via email or text, once this is in place it is a very easy transition to real world adoption!

Very god post!  Thats exactly the type of posts we are looking for!

Send me your IONS name and i will send you 200 iocoins!

This coin has a great dev team. I think with a little PR we can skyrocket the value.

I Fully agree and all i/ocoin supporters  can help by spreading the good word of this coin.

I/Ocoin has a new Facebook page! https://www.facebook.com/iocoindigitalcurrency

I will personally donate 2,000 i/ocoins out of my own pocket every month to one lucky person who likes us on Facebook.

Plus and the lucky people who posts on these boards here it here first! On Christmas day i will be giving away 50,000 I/Ocoins!  But it will not be given away 'just like that'  There will be some simple rules to follow.

To qualify you must of done the following.

1- Follow us on Twitter
2- Liked us and commented (a nice comment) on our Facebook page with  your IONS user name.
Eg: Keep up the great work I/Ocoin dev team, loving IONS my user name is 'surestrike-io'
3- Left a comment on our google blog, again with your ions name.
4- Gave us a +1 on our google plus page.

Then after you have done all of that.   Post a message here, stating you qualify and who you are so we can check it.   Smiley

And i have a feeling the sooner people do this, the better their chance will be of winning...  Wink
I will take comments into consideration also, those who take the time and effort shall be rewarded.

Great coin and been here at the start.
Followed on twitter, liked on facebook and posted a message, posted a comment and gave +1 on plus page ;-)

My IONS: cryptocoinnl-io

Good job guys! Keep it up.
Im trying to figure out in what way I could help the community. Not only by spreading the word on twitter and so on. More than that.

Greetings to all our supporters from the Netherlands,

Many thanks for setting up the website, forum at: http://iocointalk.com/index.php

I like the layout, very easy to use and navigate and i am sure more people will take a look and hopefully introduce themselves.  It is a great place to put all our great minds together and post suggestions for I/Ocoin.

There are so many god features about I/Ocoin.

It is the FIRST coin in crypto history to have 'IONS' where you can easily send and receive coins by using a simple username, that you create!

Now the developers here are hard at work to bring us a HTML5 wallet, that looks very easy to use and once released will be a trend setter!

Plus..  I/Ocoin is working hard on making the blockchain super secure... more news to come on that soon!

There has never been a better time to invest in this coin, than now!
