Blockchain!!!
Hi guys,

we just uploaded a bootstrap for our blockchain with a peers.dat file to our GitHub.
these will help users sync in 24hrs

We will have a new one for DIONS with different specs

but for now anyone that syncs for the first time can use this bootstrap

https://github.com/IOCoin/iocoin/releases/tag/BootStrap.1M.Block

Blockchain!!!
development update

Sounds good, but I have a question. If I were to give someone my private alias so that they can send me IOC, will that person be able to see (via blockchain) all IOC coming in and out of the alias' address?
i think only hex address is visible on blockchain, so no. but they may be able to figure out hex address by amount sent and time of transaction?

i am understanding correctly?

Thats correct.

Blockchain!!!
development update

We are making huge progress the last few days.

We all love our privacy. How are we going to handle transactions done with an alias? With DIONS we introduce
"private encrypted transactions on the Blockchain"

Encrypted (private) alias are now able to upload and update data via wallet, we are moving next to encrypted (private) alias transfers. These all part of the final tweaks to our wallet.

Private aliases are the ones the user registers and are not visible in the explorer, they are all encrypted until the time the user decides to un-encrypt (edited)

When Un-Encrypted the said transfer will show the Alias in explorer

transaction example

(Private Alias XHXHXXYS) - Hex Address - IOC Amount

to

(Public Alias Amazon) - Hex Address - IOC Amount

-------Another example------

(Private Alias XHXHXXYS) - Hex Address - IOC Amount

to

(Private Alias XHXHXXYS) - Hex Address - IOC Amount

-------Another example------

(Public Alias Joel) - Hex Address - IOC Amount

to

Amazon - Hex Address - IOC Amount

----- For Data -----

(Private Alias XHXHXXYS) - Hex Address -  Data - IOC Fee

Universal Music - Hex Address - Data - IOC Fee

============

These type of things are the ones that have taken the team time because we have multiple types of transactions, that the daemon and wallet are capable of doing. All have to be enabled. So far everything we are turning on, we test now here in beta works and we move to the next. We will have a final beta with all the testers once we are done with these sections, make sure our DIONS release is tops (edited)
Right now we are enabling the transfer of Private alias from user A to user B

Since these are encrypted transactions they are handled different from the public and un encrypted transactions
AES 256 Encrypted chat will be handled via exchange of RSA Keys to ensure full end to end privacy
for DIONS V.2 we will enable Public user to user and Group un-encrypted chat. We will have a tutorial video with the wallet
and we are making it very user friendly. When you register an alias is automatically encrypted until you decide to un-encrypt
or make it Public. There will be easy encrypt buttons in the wallet so everybody can easily encrypt when they want.

All communications in chat will be via RSA Key Exchange

* everything is encrypted
* everything is encrypted until user chooses to un encrypt
* Transactions will remain exactly the same as today in explorer
* For encrypted alias the alias won't show in explorer
* If Public it will show next to the hex addresss
* basically we have private transactions if a person chooses to do so.

More than likely people will choose to keep the alias private and maybe have one public

Cheers,

I/O Digital team

kind of intriguing at least for me, looking at largest wallets, these wallets have had no movement or staking for:
890 days - inDdGaT68Nkdi6zXg1MWUCTSvjkdkUbNuG - 311k ioc
817 days - iUSAEAoVUnBRgJ8U1y7PyDff36i4BowzWN - 201k ioc

over 512,000 ioc  just sitting.   cryptsy? lost computer? forgotten? dead person?

not sure what the term for lost money that can never be recovered is, but 3% of money supply seems high?

I know that this coin is POS, but are there any mining pools that support payouts in IOC?
pretty sure that there aren't any.

Some really great info there, but it does get lost in some of those graphics...  its quite hard to scroll through it all.

Maybe you guys can make it into a digital booklet?   Would be much easier to read and finish.

Also, whats with the colorful symbols at the top and one the "chain padlock" area and near the footer..... not a good look.

I/O Digital 2017 Summary

It was an amazing 2016, we started at around market cap $50k and today Jan 2017, we hover around $5 to $6 Million dollars. It was a year filled with awards and lots of progress made with DIONS, running up to our current initial beta with our new HTML5 wallet.  The I/O Digital Blockchain has been going strong with 0 downtime, 0 forks or any major setbacks and we are looking strong to keep that stellar accomplishment. As with any other blockchain project, if any unforeseen issues were to come, they will be handled swiftly by our team.

The team is back at it today. We will be uploading images as we go along finalizing things, but all major parts of our DIONS HTML5 wallet are in and have passed initial beta. Our next steps are now to get the wallet ready for our testers so we can run stress test of the entire blockchain, code, wallet to clean out any unseen bugs, that we haven't already gotten too. We have conferences coming up from Miami to England and we have the Fintech awards voting that's also coming up.

Mr Antonioni (former IBM mexico president) is currently conducting a study on our entire project, looking over Foundation paper work gearing up for our first board meeting along with Marco Houweling (Finance from TomTom). Mr Antonioni has some ideas in mind and propositions for us to follow. He has been in touch with some industry tech leaders that also have been given him feedback. We are always going to share as much info as we can since some people for the time being are not in a position to announce that they are in talks with our project, but rest assure that as we move along if we get green we will share. As everyone knows from our roadmap, we have Chameleon that will follow Dions. So all hands are to get Dions out first asap, following thorough stress tests to the entire chain with our beta testers. Please remember that after main release of Dions, there will be more versions to it along with the wallet. Ophie is currently working on a new I/O Coin website which will be updated on Dions release. There has been progress with project sunrise (which is a side project not part of the foundation) and we are working out strategies for a provisional patent as we concluded our first round of vetting and research. Project sunrise will be announced along with chameleon in due time.

It will be an extremely busy 2017 and we are looking forward to hit the ground running for that Top 10 spot. If you or anyone has any questions please field them to Richard our community manager and we will answer them asap. Please spread our infographics. This project is for everyone to also think of things to do with the chain as we go along. Remember that with Dions, the more coins you stake the more staking power you have, it will help secure more rewards from fees as users chat, create aliases, upload data and more. The fees stand at .01 IOC per KB.

Happy New Year to everyone.
