Which is a great thing. It allowed me to stuff my bags full of cheap IOTA. Opportunities like this don't come along often. Sometimes FUD can be a great opportunity

I also think this is a huge chance for IOTA.
Nice to see that the MIT have so much interrest in IOTA, and in this stage of developing i don´t see a problem if someone find a bug or a theoretical problem.
The found newbie mistakes in cryptography, and response of iota foundation, shows they should not be allowed near computer keyboards.

No, it is not newbie mistake. It was an intentional trap to protect the software from being copied by scammers. It has been rebutted by iota team with details -

The so called academic medium blog report by Narula is full of exaggerated, fault, and biased information and wishful, unproven and baseless conclusions. It is more like a price manipulation piece rather than a scientist or researcher's report. Shame on MIT.

I had problems installing the wallet. is it always slow?
The download is quite hefty but installing on Windows is a breeze. Could you explain what kind of issues you encountered when installing the wallet?

Is it safe to send payments to the same wallet address several times? Or do I need to generate new wallet for each new transaction? It generates new wallets when I click "attach to tangle". But if I already have previously generated wallet can I use it for multiple incoming (not outgoing) payments?
Yes, it is safe as long as it does not have any outgoing transaction.
Wow, a patched vulnerability created this much sell off? Are people just not reading that its no longer vulnerable? Its bolded in the article. I don't even hold any iOTA and Im now mad that I don't have any free fiat to buy at this price.

But still they claimed to know each and every detail about the Tangle ?!!

It definitely does not look like a scientist report to me. It is more like a typical cryptocurrency world report with exaggerated and fault information to manipulate the price. It is sad that it comes from a MIT affiliate. It seems that so many researchers today trade coins and are driven by the monetary interests. It is sad.
I can't believe that the blog author was so absessed with the price and market cap of IOTA. What market cap has anything to do with science reseach? The author was almost begging people to sell. It is sad.
