You dont need to sync the light wallet. Here you can DL the light-wallet, afterwards use one server from this list http://www.iotasupport.com/lightwallet.shtml

Were the results, conclusions, etc. of the stresstest posted anywhere? I asked before looking, but please drop a link if you have it handy! 
Initial results suggested 100+ cTPS. They say that a full report is in the works.
Yes, I even saw it passed 200 TPS at some point on the stresstest page. I will wait for the full report, thanks!
We will do a thorough report after more testing, there was a bug in one of the test runs, which incidentially gave us insight into how the Tangle operates even under extremal conditions.
